Free Fall is a novel written as a series of journal entries chronicling the strange, yet intertwined, events involving Michael Cardazia, a quirky high school science teacher, and his longtime spy girlfriend, Erika Nirvona. Life for the couple proceeds routinely until strange and unexplainable events begin to creep into their lives. Michael is one day catapulted into a world beyond anyone’s imagination. In this alternate universe, he befriends some of Earth’s most well-known individuals including Abraham Lincoln, Elvis Presley, Walt Disney, and Marilyn Monroe, but in starkly different roles from the ones we earthlings remember them for. This whirlwind journey takes the characters from the streets and monuments of Washington DC to a world in which scientists strive to secretly create more perfect human specimens. Full of history and trivia, yet also offering lighthearted humor, this book follows Michael’s free-falling nonstop journey to get back to the woman he loves on Earth. But she too is caught in a series of mysterious events, and Michael soon realizes that, despite the most valiant efforts of his newfound friends, his journey back to Earth has become more complicated than anyone could have foreseen.
Caden is an accidental author. He is not sure if he was born on this world or another, since he was adopted and knows little about his birth parents. As a junior attending the University of Montana, he became a Walt Disney World intern. Caden is currently unemployed as he begrudgingly moves from town to town. At this time, he has won no writing awards and never meant for these journals to be published. Caden loves animals and hopes that one day this craziness will end so he can meet a nice girl and settle down with a wife, pets, and future children. Presently, his whereabouts are unknown.
This book doesn't only explore the real possibilities of other realms of existence, but is also very educational. The ending was a BIG surprise. It is a great, CREATIVE thought-out book to read with the ultimate story of a strong, passionate love between a man and a woman!
I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review.
This book was a lot bigger than I originally thought which made me think it was going to take forever to read. That is not the case. The characters are believable and developed well. You love them, hate them, get totally annoyed by them and cheer for them to succeed. It makes the reading just fly by. Before I knew it I was done and can't wait to read the next installment.
The whole idea of the story was new to me and really researched. I got several science lessons while reading :) I enjoyed meeting characters that you wouldn't think would be there based on the more current date the book is written about. I won't spoil some of the well known characters who appear! You will have to read it yourself!
An exciting story full of twists and turns. Each chapter leaves you wondering what's next for the main characters. You'll never believe what Elvis Presley and Abe Lincoln are doing in this alternate universe. And, the end is jaw-dropping and left me wanting more.
Loved the quirkiness of the main character. Not sure if this is science fiction, action, or comedy, or a mix of all of them, but I enjoyed it. Look forward to the next edition.
