Imagine meeting the hero of this book at age 18, losing your virginity to him because you saw this sad Greek-multimillionaire one day, and you thought that having sex would comfort him. Months later, you married him still practically a teenager, and he was a grumpy adult and you were content to receive from him a strange affection, nothing compared to your devotion to him.
Anyway, they lasted nine years together, they had 4 kids and you naively thought they were happy.
You loved him madly until you discovered him making out with his ex-girlfriend (the woman he knew throughout his childhood and was with him for 10 years) on your wedding anniversary.
There you found out everything: that his ex, Ana, left him and got married the day the hero took your virginity. In the bed that had belonged to Ana. That your godparents are Ana's parents. That the entire island where you live today knows the story of your husband, the millionaire hero, and Ana.
That he still kept thinking about Ana.
That during these 10 years his heart was not only yours, but that you shared a space with Ana. That he did not really believe in his marriage, and did not really believe that he loved you, until he lost you because of his infidelity with Ana.
He practically wasted 10 years of your life because his pride kept him from moving on, and he secretly still hoped that Ana would come back for him.

Well, what would you do instead of the protagonist? I would make the hero eat poop and then take a lot of money out of him for living expenses. But the heroine forgave him <3

By the way, hero didn't allow his wife to work. So the heroine could not be financially independent when she thought about divorce, because she only has high school papers, she never studied anything. On the other hand, Ana is a billionaire actress.
So yeah, how fucking disgusting.

Last installment of the story between the idiot cheater of a hero and the naive heroine.
After witnessing the kiss between her husband and his ex, the heroine with her children leave despite the hero being all ily and sorry.
The poor dumb heroine is shattered because she gets to know all the sordid details of the hero’s story with his ex, the most repellent of which is that he deflowered both his ex and her on the same bed.
Gross much????
Ok basically the book is a long grovel and actually the heroine makes him pay humiliating him in every way every flaunting a young man in front of him, and I have to admit that he never ever gives up and takes all the pain and humiliation like a champ.
But.
I hate cheaters and sadly I must admit that the kiss wasn’t what bothered me the most.
Nope. In fact it was initiated by ow and he didn’t want it.
What really annoyed me was the eight years of constant craving his ex while married to his wife. His thoughts when he saw her after 8 years were that he still felt something for her and he keeps having feelings for her even if he loves his wife now.
I don’t understand this kind of cheating and unilateral feelings.
I’m not and never have been into unrequited love. Ok maybe at 13 or 14 when you meet the boy who’s older and doesn’t even see you, I can find it acceptable.
But when a gf leaves you at 25 and now you’re 35 with a family and still are thinking of her and how life could be with her, well this means that all the years before have been not worthy enough to make you forget what happened before.
It means that your wife, your children, everything, was nothing compared to your ex who dumped you for her career.
And this is more unforgivable than the peck on her lips that she gave him.
And I hoped that the heroine had made him wait for eight years before taking him back.
She made him wait only some months though, even if she treated him badly.
I wouldn’t want him back even if he gave me his whole business as he did.
And I was left wondering. He really regretted making his wife suffer because she saw him kissing ow.
But what if she didn’t catch him kissing his ex?
Would he still be pining for her?
Worst hero ever, but great angst so 3 high blood pressure stars.

grovelling
----------
Suddenly, she felt like she was the most stupid girl in the world.
The entire island had to have known about them.
They had to.
Everyone here had grown up together, everyone knew everyone’s business.
They had to have known about Kyr and HER.
And they hadn’t told Pollyanna about them.

“Why didn’t you just marry her?” She knew she shouldn’t even care about it, but she did.
“Because she married someone else first.”

“I learned about it…the day I took your virginity.”

The bed, the GODDAMN bed that they had made love in for the first time, had belonged to HER.

And this man, her entire world had revolved around him, not knowing that his world revolved around THAT WOMAN.
Pollyanna looked at her husband, and she couldn’t even cry. “You’ve left me with nothing, Kyr,” she whispered dully. “You’ve taken everything away from me, and I don’t know where to go from here.”

Ana looking extremely vulnerable, and he realized then that there was still a goddamn tiny part of him that felt something for her. It was no longer love, but it was…something that could still be affected, and the knowledge made Kyr hate himself.

“I see you with them now, Kyr, and I can’t stop thinking…would you have stayed eight years with me…if not for them?”

And he thought, God, I don’t know what I did to deserve another chance, but thank You.
He looked into his wife’s eyes. “Sorry.” His voice broke. He slowly let Leo go, so he could kneel in front of her. “Sorry.”
And he felt her small, soft hands clasping his face, and her mouth brushing against his. He tasted her tears and his, and most of all, he tasted her love as she whispered, “You’re forgiven.”

I have tried to write this review and keep on writing these disjointed ramblings.

This is a messed-up contemporary romance with elements of a category classic romance at the same time. It's a book series, and if you are in the right mood for it, it's a mesmerizing angst-fest. It's not a lot of pages -- probably about 300 total for all three books -- so don't be daunted by that if this intrigues you.

The H is a self-centered jerk and the h is completely sheltered and naive and emotionally a child when she first meets him. She pays for that naivete, and he pays for his motives in choosing her in the first place.

The vast majority of this book is him groveling for his betrayal of her, which physically is quite small but emotionally and ethically is profound. So it's an epic grovel. She definitely comes into herself during the process.

However, the last scene of the book is the most messed-up thing I've ever read. I mean, WTF!

One point for the romance (although I do believe that he loved her and his grovel was heartfelt). Five points for whatever that last scene was. It was mesmerizingly horrible and out of place, like a rainbow panda getting drunk on glitter vodka with a unicorn, then vomiting sparkles all over the place in between sloppy makeout sessions.

I picked this up as a freebie solely because of its title. The book was originally a trilogy with very short installments. (all together it’s a little over 250 pages) I’m feeling really lazy at the moment, so I’m leaving as a 3⭐, and posting 1 review for them all. This will be completely spoilery, so stop if you want to read this. (there're major spoilers ahead)

I read several reviews before starting, so I had a certain expectation in my head on how this would shake out, and it certainly was not as deliciously scandalous as I predicted. I think you’re enjoyment will probably depend on your soapy preference. If you want totally safe, or OTT angsty drama-llama… you might want to keep looking. If you want some light OW drama angst without a cruel H… you might be happy.

Book 1- The book opens with Kry having sex with his long-time love Ana. Shortly after, Ana breaks his heart by leaving him to chase her dreams in America. Much of the book is a jaded Kry meeting, and becoming attached to sweet, naïve 18-yr old Pollyanna. Unlike most HP’s this isn’t an instant hook-up, he initially wants her, but respects her desire for friendship. Over time it grows, but Kry is very firm that they always stop before cashing in her V-card. One night all this changes, when he learns that Ana is getting married, and is really sad. Polly decides offering sex is the best cure, she gets naked, and proceeds with the usual dry humping. (Is it still dry humping if they’re naked?) The point is, he is telling her no while she’s slipping him in, not that he doesn’t want to, but wants her to stay a virgin more. In a nutshell, she was the instigator, and he was in the ex’s bed to take a nap, not to pretend she was Ana. So, this wasn’t the nefarious deed that I’d predicted based on the reviews. He’s not bitter or cruel, doesn’t feel trapped, which killed the angst-fest potential for me.

His eyes closed. “Be patient with me, psaraki.” And before he realized what he was doing, he was already bending down to press a soft kiss on her hair, committing everything to her – everything except his nonexistent heart.

He wasn’t in love with her, couldn’t ever be, because his heart had long been destroyed.

He could not lose her. He could not. “Marry me.”

She already meant too much to him, and to lose her would destroy him.

I will take care of you, psaraki. I have sworn to make you the happiest girl in the world, and I will not break my word on our wedding day.

Book 2- The book picks up with the couple’s marriage, and spans over several years. I thought he was going to be a jerk hung up on Ana, but I will say (disappointedly) that there isn’t any real drama here. He never really thinks of Ana. His narrative is mostly that he doesn’t have a heart to give, not that he’s waiting around for the ex. He’s committed to making her happy, he defends her to others, goes on midnight preggers craving runs, he even bakes her a cake. Then, he learns Ana is getting divorced, and I was rubbing my hands together, but we only get this.

…if he did anything to contact Ana, it would break his wife’s heart. Even if he only wanted to talk to his ex, even if he would never betray Polly, he knew that his wife would never understand, and a part of him started to resent her for it… Pollyanna was just too sensitive. She would never understand, and he would never risk their marriage for anything.

Sigh...Several years pass, and two kids later the black moment happens. Ana shows up!! He’s been ignoring her letters, and phone calls, and she wants him back. Originally, he’s cold, and offended that she showed up on his anniversary, but then he starts thinking about old times.

Ana, his Ana, the first girl, the only girl he had ever loved, and she was back. Ana. All his dreams from boyhood--- Could they be his again? Could he make them come true? And it was as if she had heard his every thought, with Ana curling her arms around his neck, pressing her body close to his as she whispered achingly, “I’m so sorry for leaving you, Kyr. Please take me back. I’m begging you. Please, and we can have everything back again.”

Ana was begging him to take her back, just like he had always dreamed of. It was his chance to destroy her the way she destroyed him. But the words were locked in his throat.

Ana. The girl he had loved over a decade.....

Ana. The girl who had known him inside and out... Ana.

Her lips touched him. At the same time, Kyr heard his wife’s voice behind him.

She runs off, and he realizes how much he loves her but it’s too late. He killed her love.

Book 3- The book picks up after the betrayal. He does meet with Ana, and is wise to meet her in public. He tells her he loves his wife, to leave him alone, never contact him again, etc. But, most of the book is Kyr groveling/kissing her ass while she angrily shuts him down. This book should appeal to all the readers that feel the h’s forgive too quickly, because this drags on for almost 100 pages. It started out great (I love a good grovel) but it got old. I liked sweet Polly, not the bitter Polly. Finally, she forgives him after a talk with one of her kids. I’m still confused why that “I’m sorry” was any different than the other hundred. Then, we have the most bizarre, cringiest, out of left field epilogue I’ve ever read. (and I've read a lot of books) They have sex at the podium (on a dark stage) while they're hosting a bingo game at a school fundraiser, because she told him she “wouldn’t ever be a potty-mouthed wife” and he never says no to a challenge.

Oh my God, he was thrusting hard now, pounding into her, and no matter how she tried not to react, it was impossible, and her body began to rock noticeably against the podium… Everyone was staring at them now, and she could see realization starting to dawn on them…

“It’s a fucking O for orgasm, O 69!”

She came, screaming, “Biiiiiiiiiiiingooooooooooooooooo!”

WTF??!!

Bottom Line- It was a bit of a dud for me. We all have different opinions of what constitutes cheating. I live on a steady diet of angsty reads so my “pretend world” limits are pretty high. For example, one of my friends thought he emotionally cheated on her in book 2 (which is her right) but I wasn’t feeling it. They never spoke or interacted, and he rarely thought of her. Even after learning she was divorced his internal musings never touched on Ana. Along those lines the “cheating” didn’t really bother me either. It was a peck, maybe it could’ve turned into more (we’ll never know) but for me her reaction was WAY OTT… but that’s me. 😊

In the final part of this story the angst is turned up as the H is caught kissing the OW and though the h doesn't really grow a spine she does pretend that she has and its time for the H to suffer (not enough IMO).
I think the big question here is how the story would have turned out if he hadn't been caught when he did as I did not for one second buy his pride story. He was all for the OW coming back to him and despite not wanting to hurt the mother of his children I think he would have totally left her for the OW before grovelling back when he realised the OW was a biatch.
The fact here is the h doesn't really need to forgive him for the kiss esp if she takes him at face value and believes that it was his pride that wanted to push her away. The fact of the matter is he lied to her for 8 years and kept key facts from her that meant parts of the relationship became extremely tarnished for her.
She supported him and never did anything to lose faith in her and he controlled an manipulated her throughout their marriage, she has a right to be extremely mad at him.
I liked that he really had to work and gain her trust back and it took a real amount of time. I would have been prepared to award this one more stars but at the end it just went voyeuristic daft and didn't seem to fit either character at all really. It was just tacky and sordid and ruined the entire story.
Be happy the h is happy with her lot in this one and don't be surprised when more kids come along because you know he is going to use babies to keep her in line when he gets all jealous again.

Great ending to the series. I felt the angst and heartbreak. It was wonderful to see how Kyr and Polly each discovered the true meaning of strength in a relationship. I very much enjoyed this departure from the author's usual storyline into the lives of a married couple.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I actually woke up very early in the morning for this book's release and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. I have to say that this is Marian's best yet.

First of all, this series made me cry buckets. I felt what Pollyanna felt and I honestly was rooting for her to make Kyr pay. The grovelling parts really sold me! It's the best but f course, The Unwanted Wife will always take the first place in terms of grovelling scenes, but this one was really satisfying.

Which was a plus since Dutch Billionaire was so disappointing.

I found it a bit depressing, it seemed long. Her basically not accepting him back.
The Hero is caught being kissed by his ex who he has held a candle for through out his 8 year (?) marriage to his wife.
After the kiss ends he realises he loves his wife and thinks anything he had felt for his ex was down to his pride as she walked away from him.
I struggled with him having 4 children with his wife, living with her, never saying he loved her and emotionally cheating on her with his ex.
It does end in a HEA, she makes him work for it but it felt sooooo dragged out to me.

Angst, angst, baby! Groveling, hurt, tears, a broken heart, and more angst is what this third and final book is all about. I enjoyed it as much as a pint of Haagen-Dazs. If you like angst and books where the hero has devastated the heroine and does everything to get her back, this one’s for you.

Praise the book gods because Marian Tee has redeemed herself.
Not that she was ever terrible, it's just that when you've read 12 out of her 16 NA series, things can get really predictable.

BUT if it's your first MT book, and if you want a short, angsty second-chance romance with no overly tragic backstories, PICK. THIS. UP. Needless to say it is my FAVORITE Marian Tee book, and favorite MT characters, ever. I do love married couples (see The Unwanted Wife.)

Just a heads up though, as far as I know, the author loves Japanese culture so her books sometimes read like shoujo mangas. But they are really short, so personally the style felt refreshing to me at first. Best stay clear if you hate manga.

My favorite lines - major spoilers!

Devoured the three books in one day. Loved it for the epic grovel. The hero deserved it. He was an ass for more than half of the book, denying he was in love with his wife but you could see in his actions. Oh, the heartbreak when it came, I felt so bad for Polly and i'm glad she didn't give in easily. Their story spanned eight years and Kyr was a great husband and made Polly happy except he had a secret and there was a part of himself that he kept from her because he never found closure from his first love that had destroyed all his notions of love.
It took hurting his wife to free him from the chains of his unfinished business with his ex, but would it come at the cost of his marriage. He has a lot of groveling to do. :)

Ahhh I love HEA!!

This I'd the final book of Pollyanna and Kyr and man did I cry laugh and want to hit somebody. This is a must read series that you will be happy to read and to finally learn more about Kyr and Pollyanna who you meet earlier in My Greek Billionaire.

And it didn't get any better for the finale. I'm still not like the story being told to you, and not revealed with all the details - I don't feel at all invested in these characters, even though the author has tried.

Finally Kyrillos Gazis gets what he deserves. Pollyanna knows everything and grows a backbone. She takes a much needed break form him and starts doing things for her. She doesn't worry about Kyrillos or his controlling behavior, she does what's best for her and the kids. I liked seeing how she grew from the betrayal. She matured in a way that I love. I also loved Kyrillos finally showing some other emotion towards her besides him being controlling. He was to work for her, regain her trust, essentially win her over again but in the way she always deserved. I do like the happy ending in the book. Towards the end, my heart softened towards Kyrillos. It was a great ending to this trilogy.

Mam MArian you made me cried so hard. The first two books i read it so coolly and in relax vibes. But nothing prepared me to this heartbreaking part. My tears cant stop falling. I really hate Kyr for not telling the truth, really. He deserve all the pain he feels. My heart aches to the both of them.

Im so touched by this book. And Im crazy for taking selfie while crying and Im gonna post it on facebook. Im being emotional. Not yet finished tho. Im still on the part where Emma said " We saw it in him, too, baby. Your husband loved you. Your husband loves you- whether he knows it or not." And I cried a river again.

3.5 rounded up.

As HQs go this was sweet. I can’t believe I paid so much for the three books.
This review is for the Three books in the series.
It was sweet and corny. The H read as loving and kind. We didn’t read about him constantly thinking of hi former love that left him after 9 years . Only a small snippet. The author got the timeline wrong. The Ow appears at the H & Hs anniversary party of 8 years. But at the end of this book it’s claiming 8 year of marriage. It seemed they were separated longer. 🤷‍♀️

Quandary. Some parts of this trilogy were interesting and well done, others over the top and some were just tedious. I totally agree that emotional affairs are often more devastating than physical because they involve the heart, emotions and mind of those involved. It is hard to believe that the h was this totally clueless and naïve. It is also hard to believe that the H did not become more emotionally involved with his family after 9 years and 4 children. That a single kiss to reveal the emotional affair to the h and the true emotions of the H for his wife and family were unrealistic. The exhibitionism did read romantic to me at all. The wife said stop, he continued and it felt like abuse.

I really enjoyed this read. Glad it was long but the ending was a bit too short.

Kyr was too insecure but I'm glad things worked out.

I'm just really glad Pollyanna did not pull a Mairi with Adrian whatever his last name is. I was really going to give up this book and be super pressed if again if Polly had pulled a Miari.

I was reading the whole series just for this. And I have to tell you, it wasn't worth.
Althought the heroine finally grew a backbone and became independent (thank God), I still didn't like her. Neither did I like the hero.
I expected so much better.
