An innocent man on the run for murder and counter revolutionary activities, Karl finds himself thrown into the middle of a coup he wants no part of. Meanwhile, an assassin has been sent from Soviet Britain with a mission that could change the course of history; or end it. This is part two of the Soviet Britain series. Author's note: This is part of a novel that is being published in a 'chap book' format of serialisation, consequently they are not stand alone books. You will need to read part one before you read part two.
Neil Jopson was born in Burnley in England. His travels have taken him from Chelsea to Melbourne, and lots of places in-between. In 2014, after years of talking about it, he finally published his great grandfather's journal of his time in the trenches of the Great War. At the same time he decided he wanted to publish his own writing, and decided to stop talking (as much) and start writing. He now lives in Bromley in Kent.
As stated in the synopsis this is the second installment in Neil Jopson's Soviet Britain series, although this part takes place as much in the US as it does in Britain. The story continues and I will not elaborate on it as I do not wish the hide the review for containing spoilers, but suffice it to say it picks up where it left off. There is, however, a character that I want to mention; Scar Ear, a brilliant character and while Jopson sometimes doesn't build his characters to the extent I would prefer, he has done a really good job with this assassin.
I was looking forward to reading this book, having enjoyed the first part of the series -Blood Parade, and I wasn't disappointed. It's an easy read - sweeping you back into the enthralling atmosphere of Soviet Britain. In this installment, we learn more about the characters and the threats they are facing. I look forward to finding out what happens next!
