E.D.G.E. Security is a covert international organization that handles jobs most governments won’t. The operators are the elite of the elite, soldiers and spies, chosen for their skills and secrecy, and their ability to go beyond the edge. Ex-hacker, Danielle Everett and her Navy SEAL boyfriend Jake ‘College’ Harrison have worked together at EDGE Security, the covert international organization for the last year. It’s been one of the best years of Dani’s life. But when Jake wants to bring her home to New York, to meet his family, Dani is reluctant. Christmas might mean food, fun and family to Jake, but to her it’s always meant loneliness and heartbreak.
Jake can’t understand Dani’s opposition to his family, but he’s sure that spending the holidays with them will help change her mind. He’s got something special planned and he’s determined to make their first Christmas together unforgettable.
There’s only one problem, an old enemy has decided that all he wants for Christmas is Dani—dead. He’s hired an assassin who will stop at nothing to get the job done. Can Dani and Jake overcome the holiday mayhem and work together, or will this be Dani’s last Christmas?
Dani's past has come for her at the most inconvenient time: meeting Jake's family for the first time. She doesn't do families, not really ever having one. And now a "very bad man" proposes a sick game of hide and seek? She wonders if things could be any worse. The answer: yes. This is a very fast-paced, action-packed story. Also, family is a big theme, explored in various ways. Action junkies and justice seekers will really love this book.
This is a great series. The characters are great and all of the books are fast paced and keep me interested from start to finish. Looking forward to the next book.
In this book, we reunite with Dani and Jake from Book 1 and it's full of action. I never knew which way the storyline would go and couldn't put my Kindle down. Trish Loye is my new favourite author!
A good bit of action and suspense is packed into this very short E.D.G.E. novella. Really liked seeing Dani and Jake again. Might have enjoyed more interaction between them and Zach and Alyssa.
Dani has never truly had a family, not since she went into the foster system. She is now met with the challenge of figuring out the dynamics of family life with Jake's family. But that would be the easy part of this breathtaking story. After all that Dani has been through, the terror from her past won't let her go easily. Dmitri has hired the huntsman to track down Dani and kill her. She has gone with Jake to visit his family for Christmas and the huntsman takes that time to "play" with her. After a lot of torment and horror for the both of them, he is stopped and Dani gets away with little more than a minor gunshot wound to the arm.
While this was a short novella, it didn't feel rushed since it was basically a continuation of Dani and Jake's story from earlier in the series. The story setting was Christmas time, but thankfully not cheesily or overdone. It had plenty of suspense and took Dani and Jake's relationship to where I hoped it would go. This was a quick read, but well worth checking out.
I grumpily want to give this 3 star's as it such a short novella. Can't stand them and would have boycotted had it not been about Jake and dani. So frustrating.. suppose that means the author has done her job well as I want to read more about the team and not short novellas. No more books to read in this series so will have to wait to see if Trish will be writing anymore. Series definitely worth reading.
What a refreshingly intriguing Christmas story. Every family with members in law enforcement worry about the danger their love ones face everyday in their line of work even when the bad guys are behind bars. This story shows some of the danger and worry. This author did a fabulous job writing this story. I have to go now to buy the rest of the books in this series.
This is not a holiday fluff piece. It is a well written romantic suspense set during the holidays. It brings back Dani and Jake (book one), who have been together a year and have traveled to NYC for Dani to meet his family. But someone from her past has made arrangements for a very different Christmas than what Jake has planned for her. And The Huntsman plans to deliver, personally. This is a great addition to the EDGE series.
I am glad we have a wonderful happy ending for Dani, this series has kept me on edge, I am excited about the next one in the series. Christmas is my favorite time of the year, but I can't wait to be on the edge of my seat for the next book. It's sure to be just as great as the previous book's.
In this short story, Jake takes Dani to his family home for Christmas. Dani doesn't do families so it's a bit awkward for her and Jake's family isn't making it any easier. To make matters worse, her past has come back to haunt her and now she's being hunted by an assassin. The story was short but packed full of suspense, action and romance.
An enjoyable holiday story with good suspense. My complaint about this series is that I don't really remember them after I read them. This could be because I read too much, but I really struggled trying to recall these characters.
Jake and Dani are going to his parents for Christmas. Dani has never had a normal family so she is not looking forward to this. A Christmas with a crazy loving family a mad man after her and a marriage proposal. What can a kielbasa for. Lol
Loved this Series so much that I read all 4 books in a week. lol What a fabulous series. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with all of us. Your an amazing Author. Looking forward to reading Book 5.
I really like this series I am enjoying reading every one of the books the people and the stories are brilliant.I am now about to start reading book 5.Happy reading every one.
I don't care for this character (Dani) any more than I did in the first book in the series. Therefore, no high ratings for this one. Good suspense, though.
Good, quick Christmas read. I really enjoy this series so I was excited to see a Christmas novella. If you have read the others, this is worth reading.
