The ideas were mainly original althogh I have to say there appeared to be a lot of influence from he Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Fantasy is a difficult genre to write and this book really proves that. The ideas were disorganised, not helped by the lack of chapters or anything other than a new paragraph to mark changes of view. A large part of the story was told at the start and too many characters were introduced that were not needed adding to confusion. In addition to all this, there was little build up to any event, which was frustrating but the final events, which felt as they should have been major plot points, were told equally terribly. Also, the self published nature of he book meant it was littered with grammatical errors and waffled on for too long.
