A Guide to Creating Dog Portraits

Rate this book
This book is designed to show how to create realistic dog portraits using pastels and pencils. It shows various techniques of how to produce the initial sketches of different dogs and then takes the reader through fully illustrated stages to the end of the finished piece. Also demonstrated is how to create a white dog on white paper from the colouring in stage. The book covers all of the tools needed, including a unique explanation of ‘observation’, and how important this is, which means these methods can be applied to other types of art. This is a light hearted but informative book, which even includes a new discovery of Kym Styles, How to draw puppy fur.
