...There was a girl that used to dream of foreign lands which in there lived a Prince...
And yes, her fantasies came true!!!
Her Prince Charming or "Hot Adonis Guy" appeared in front of her and she lost her mind...
He saved her life and she became her Mermaid Princess...
No, it couldn't be that easy...
This is a very modern fairytale and it need the evil witch, which in our case was Paparazzi.
Yep, you heard right!!!
The hottie guy, named Christos saved Emmaline, a common mortal girl with lots of problems, they kissed and the paparazzi took every step in this rescue on video and from that moment their lives turned to hell...
Emmaline liked to be dreaming since her life the last year became a living hell. She was forced to resign from her scholarship on her violin studies because of an awful accident that injured badly both of her parents. So she had to leave her dreams behind and to look after them.
Her only escape from this situation was this trip with her three best friends...
So, while she was in a small country somewhere in Greece, she met her Prince Charming, who actually was a real prince...

Prince Christos wasn't born to be the crown prince of Garronia but since the loss of his brother, a year ago, he had to take his position. A position that he hates. He was raised to be a soldier. While his life is about to change in every aspect, in the mix is coming Emmaline and the things are perplexing even more...

I liked very much Christos. He was that hot guy that you will drool over him.
And i liked Emmaline even though she was so insecure on times and a little bit phychotic!!!
When they were together, the air got steamy.... but my only objection is that everything was running too quick... Everything between them... but i won't stay to that!!!
In my opinion the story was delightful, but somewhere around the middle of the book, i think that it took a dive but after a while everything got in their right place...
Beyond that, this story was very interesting and I would like to read the second book about Dimitri and Lauren...

He kissed her then,and it happened all over again-the sense of time stopping,as if all Em needed to do was step into his arms and everything around her would cease to be,and there would only be her,and him,and maybe a magic carpet to whisk them off to someplace exotic and strange.
There was a girl who sacrificed her future to look after her sick parents.When her friends convinced her to travel in Europe,she didn't expect that she would meet the handsome crown prince of a kingdom she didn't even know existed and that what seemed like a summer fling to forget her troubles would be a beautiful love story.
You sometimes get handed something you didn't plan for,aren't prepared for,something you really don't like.So good memories are worth celebrating.
Courted feels like a mix of The Prince and Me with Princess Diaries and Disney movies plus some really steamy scenes.Kristos aka Prince Hottiedom/Hot Adonis Guy is totally swoonworthy,and you can't help but love him.He was forced to give up the life in military,the life he wanted for a life he despised and wasn't prepared for.When he met Em,he thought she would be the final reprieve between his call and his duty.Em on the other hand found in Kristos the life she lost,the experiences she denied herself the past years in order to be the daughter her parents needed.She is kind and sweet and adorable.
The depth of the characters and the chemistry between them wasn't Courted's only asset.Jennifer Chance's writing was truly magical,you could easily picture the beautiful country of Garronia and feel like you are there as well.And since it's a New Adult romance,there are also some veeeery hot scenes that (thank God) aren't included in fairytales.I giggled like a schoolgirl and smiled until my face hurt and felt all kinds of warm and fuzzy.I still do.
The only thing that bothered a little the mature adult me was that things happened way too fast,but the whole book was so sweet and fairytal-ish that I couldn't bring myself to give less than 5 stars.What can I say,I am a hopeless romantic!

I give up, guys.
It was chapter two and I already knew how things were going to be.
Everything was just so meh. In theory, this kind of books already have some issues because they tend to be so immature and cliché but I still was curious. Who know? Maybe the author could actually pull it off, true?
I don’t mind insta-lust but this I looked at her and I instantly feel like I needed to protect her behavior is just so damn stupid. It’s not romantic whatsoever, authors. Please, stop.
Oh let’s not forget the there was something I couldn’t name, a connection trope in the first five fucking chapter. Damn, I guess a kiss on the beach with a prince and being chased by paparazzi are really ways to fall in love with someone, uh huh.
I was more intrigued by the side characters than I was by the MCs and their absolutely plain love story made me want to close the book every 6 seconds.
I wanted to read a girlie book but with actual substance but what I got was airhead intent of girlie.

My Thoughts: The following are my thoughts about this book:
General:
- Trigger warning-none
- Setting: Garronia (A tiny country carved out of the mountains of Greece and edged by the glorious Aegean Sea)
Characters:
- Kristos Andris, crown prince of Garronia, (late 20’s maybe?): Kristos is the “spare” and never expected to have to take over the family reigns. But, with the disappearance of his older brother he has been forced to set aside the life he wanted to be the future king his family and his country needs. He certainly is not happy about the role that has been thrust upon him, but he knows what’s expected.
- Kristos is everything you want a royal prince to be...hot, sexy, confident, a touch of arrogance and definite swagger.
- Emmaline, 23 : Em dropped out of grad school and headed home to care for her parents when they were involved in a car accident. She’s given up her music and somewhat lost her identity as her role as a caregiver consumes every waking moment. She is a daydreamer (thanks to her mother’s whimsical princess stories) but knows fairytales do not come true. Em is weighted down by her caregiver responsibilities and sad over the loss of her career. She’s thankful her parents are alive, but she’s hurting and alone.
- Together:
- Kristos and Em have chemistry from the very beginning. They spend much of their time running from the paparazzi, which gives them a few opportunities to sneak away and have some “alone” time. When they could be themselves they were sweet together.
- It’s an “Insta-love” story. However, with all the things they went through it didn’t feel like they had only known each other for a few days.
- Both were willing to set aside their wants and desires to take on the responsibilities required by their individual families.
- Em: ”A musician who had set aside her music to care for her parents, completely willing and ready to sacrifice for the greater good of her family.”
- Kristos: ”He lived for the rough work and brutal training of the Garronia National Security Force, but after a year reprieve, it was now time for him to attend to his royal duties.”
The story:
The story was a bit predictable, but still entertaining. It was a pretty quick read and I didn’t get bored. I enjoyed the time I spent with Kristos and Em.
Other:
- Although Em was a bit of a damsel in distress who needed rescuing by the prince, she didn’t come off as weak. The ocean is unpredictable and her “rescuing” circumstance can happen to even the strongest of people. So, I liked that she was portrayed as strong, but just got herself in a very precarious and dangerous situation.
- I felt like the missing brother aspect was left unresolved. Either Kristos needed to accept the loss or there needed to be evidence that he didn’t die. Unfortunately I felt like this was a hole that wasn’t addressed properly.
- I loved the friendship of the four girls. Kind of made me wish I had a couple girls I could go tour around Europe with. They were close and they had each other‘s back and I really liked that.
- I loved the kingdom of Garronia and all the palace aspects of the story. Seeing as this is so far out of my real life realm, I enjoy getting lost in a good “royal” experience.
- The Queen Mother....👍
- I had quite a few questions about they would make everything work, so I did feel like the ending was rushed and not buttoned up tightly.

This book was cute! It was a fun story that made me feel like I was living one of my childhood dreams. There were princes, romance, balls, and beautiful palaces. I really enjoyed overall plot of this book. I thought it was really adorable and enjoyable. The royalty theme was perfect for me, because I love reading cute books that involve charming princes.
There were some things I did not like about this book. One of the major issues I had with this book was the insta-love. I felt like their relationship developed way too quickly, which lead to me rolling my eyes a lot. Their physical relationship seemed to develop very quickly, and it took over a lot of the plot. I loved the chemistry the couple had, but I wish there would have been more plot development instead of sex scenes.
Another issue that I had was that there were so many side characters that I had a really hard time remembering who was who. However, I was able to remember who was who by the end of the book, and I am now excited to see each character get their own book in this series. I also did not like how perfect this trip seemed. I love fairytales, but some of the things that happened in this book were just a little too convenient/perfect. There were also parts of the book that were slow, and I felt like nothing was happening.
There were quite a few things I didn't like about this book, but I still liked the book as a whole. Even though the romance wasn't developed as well as I was hoping, I still thought the couple was cute together. They had some adorable moments, and the prince did make me swoon a few times.
I am excited to read the other books in this series, because I am actually more interested in the other couples. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romances that involve royalty.

This is a delightful modern fairytale romance, with all the classic ingredients - a young, very caring, hardworking heroine (Emmaline Aurora Grace Andrews), Prince Charming (Prince Kristos Andris), and the folks against their happiness, the wicked enemies (paparazzi) and a fairy godmother (the Queen)! It isn’t quite a classic (or they wouldn’t have ended upon bed together anywhere near as quickly) but it is still a lovely modern take on the genre and I enjoyed escaping into it!
Four young ladies are off on holiday, exploring Europe and giving Em a much needed break from caring from her parents who were seriously injured in a devastating car accident. They are staying in the small kingdom of Garronia. Whilst on the beach she is run into (literally) by a military man who is racing with his comrades. He apologises, warns her about the dangerous undercurrent, then runs on. He’s charming, handsome, polite and she definitely likes the look of him! She goes off for her swim and, would you believe it, gets caught in the undertow. When he spots she’s in difficulties, he dashes in to her rescue, safely returning her to the beach . . . . yes, her handsome rescuer is the charming Crown Prince and when films and photos of the rescue appear in the media, life is definitely changing for the girl who has been brought up dreaming of being a princess . . . . They’ll have lots of problems, especially with the press, political expectations and want to be princesses before they’ll achieve their HEA.
Now that might sound a little cheesy, but it is so well written that it really isn’t. You know the ending you want with any fairytale and this is no different. I found it a very relaxing, pleasurable story to escape into, a dream of a modern fairytale romance I recommend to anyone who’d like to read this genre and I'll be looking out for the other books in this series when they’re released!

Emmaline or Emma to her close friends is headed on a much-needed vacation with her close group of girlfriends to a small European country of Garronia. A while ago Emma had to give up her dream of pursuing her classical music as her parents had an accident, and her mum was left for the worst and is no longer the brilliant professor she was. Out at the beach with her friends, Emma decides to go swimming and usually a confident swimmer is pulled under by a rip as she is not used to their strong currents. *Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, as you can tell, I'm honest*
I read this book rather quickly and as it was a quick read, I didn’t think much of it as I soared through the pages. However, when I finished the book, I realized that due to this book reading quickly, I learned nothing from it. I don’t remember the main characters’ names. I certainly don’t remember the (unnecessary) friends’ names. And frankly, I don’t really remember anything about the actual story. Simply, the story goes like this:
An American girl goes to a very Genovia-esque country where she is vacationing with her beautiful friends to get away from a college begging her to take a scholarship and parents who just “aren’t the same” since an accident occurred. While she is in this Grecian country that is not Greece, she clumsily runs into the crown prince who is instantly attracted to her and saves her from drowning. They hook-up, cause an international scandal, and in the end, live happily ever after.
Now, the official summary is:
Aspiring concert violist Emmaline Aurora Grace Andrews is torn between her love of family and her love of music. A year ago, she deferred entering a prestigious graduate program to help her parents recover from a devastating accident. Now the deferment is expiring, but her parents still need her. This book was so boring! So boring! It was told in alternating POVs which didn’t make the story any better, it made it more complicated. There were at least 10 different characters that were added for no reason! Emmaline Aurora Grace Andrews (really? Aurora?! REALLY?) had four best friends! Why couldn’t she have 1? And why were they all the same, boring personality?
Kristos on the other hand was whiney. Why? Because didn’t want to be king, of course! He was thrust into the position and he doesn’t want to do it. He wasn’t as bad as her but pretty close.
Besides the boring characters, the plot takes place over three (or five?) days. Of course, during this time, they fall madly and deeply in love, of course! Of course! Of Course! UGH. I really enjoy stories that involve royalty but this was NOT my cup of tea. NO. BAD.

I totally adored this book! I had no clue what to expect when I started to read this. Okay, wait. That's a lie. I was expecting a sweet, adorable, fun in the sun, girl runs off in the sunset with the prince type of story... done ala new adult.
Nope, nope and nope.
Oh, the story started out that way, though. Emma needs a break from taking care of her ailing parents. Her affluent college friend, Lauren, decides to pitch in for Emma to take a two week trip through Europe with their other two college friends, Nicki and Fran. Emma is in such dire need of a break that her daydreaming has been noticed by her friends. You see, Emma uses daydreams of kingdoms, castles, and princes to keep her mind off of the heavy burdens of her life at the moment. Emma has had to put her life on hold to take care of her father who stubbornly won't help himself heal and her mother who IS healing from a serious head injury. Emma's dad sucks, her life sucks.
Through an accidental run-in on the beach, Emma meets Kristos, the heir apparent to crown of Garronia and she immediately has new material for her daydreams. Kristos, for his part, would love nothing more than to have a fling with the hot little American instead of having to deal with an arranged marriage to a complete stranger in a matter of days.
What enfolds is a romance where the best intentions end up ruining everything. It's almost like that old story of Midas and his golden touch. He ruined all he loved just by touching it and turning it gold.
If you have even a tiny bit of princess envy in you... if you felt even a tinge of warmth somewhere around where your heart is at the end of Cinderella, you will enjoy this story.
But I will tell you, Ms. Chance definitely wrote this with the older, mature audience in mind. What a joy it was to read a woman who may have been in a "dry spell" for a few years but once she knew what she wanted, she went for it! Oh, Kristos, you never knew what hit you ;)

If you're like me, you spent a lot of your childhood pretending to be a princess. So that's one of the reasons I couldn't wait to jump on the blog tour for Courted by Jennifer Chance.
Emmaline has been taking care of her sick parents when she is urged to go study abroad. While at a European beach, she's almost swept away at sea and is rescued by hottie Kristos, who it turns out is a prince. They're instantly smitten--I'm talking instantly and begin a whirlwind romance, facing the trials you'd expect from a couple made up of royalty and a (foreign) commoner.
This book was cute, but it was missing something for me. I really enjoyed the pacing of the story and Chance's writing, but I felt that the characters lacked substance. This really was a whirlwind, and there was so much awesome fairytale-esque stuff happening--palaces and balls and beautiful dresses. Even though I loved that this story was told in dual POV, I just felt like I didn't really know anyone when it was all said and done.
Still, it's a fun, quick read and is perfect for fans of The Prince and Me and pretty much every fan of Disney princesses. I'll definitely be reading the next book in the series, even if it's just to get more of Kristos and Em's HEA. :)

Cute book.
(Emmeline's course of life changed the moment her parents were in a car accident. A year later, and Emmeline's life is still caring for her parents. She has no regrets but she is struggling with her own life. Emmeline's girlfriends take her away to travel the different countries.
First stop - Garronia.
The book opens up with the girls on the beach of Garronia. Starts off slightly funny and led me to extremely high hopes for the book. Once the book started, it didn't take long for Em and Prince Kristo to "run" into each other. She had no idea who he was but she found out a little later after he "rescued" her.
Kristo: His life and love is to lead the military but now that his older and first in line brother is supposely dead; Kristo will now become the next in line King. Life for him is changing and not the way he wants it. This is Kristo's huge struggle; not ready to lead his people wearing a suit but would lead his people in defense/military.
Dislikes:
To me Emmeline was somewhat immature. I got tired of being lost in her fantasy story telling daydreams.
I wasn't impressed on the "rescue" "first kiss" incident. More push/pull would have been better. Maybe finding out he was a prince 3/4 chapters into the book rather than the first.
Kristo was ok but nothing extrodinary.
There were a few scenes where there was way to many details. Don't need to know 4 pages of how a castle looks.
Character connection was ok.
I wasn't to impressed with the ending.
There was so much talk about the Accession Ball and him meeting "potential brides" but when the time came, nothing really came of it. We weren't really shown him engaging in other women. Then bam the rise of the conflict between him and Em.
Overall, I don't see to much depth. The American Girls is what brought the Problems?
With all that said, I still enjoyed the book. I never skimmed (except when it went in to much detail about the looks of the castle or the dress, etc.) There were a few LOL moments. I enjoyed it for a beach read; and could easily put down. I would recommend.

I am instantly hooked on these books!! I zoomed through book 1 only to immediately start reading book 2 and I am already anticipating book 3....the books can be read as a standalone, but you won't want to...you will want to devour the men of Garronia and all of their muscular glory!

The plot is fast moving, the characters are fun and quirky and make the reader want to instantly become friends with them IRL and the location makes the reader feel like they are in a far away land...I have instantly added these as one of my newest favorites!
Don't hesitate to add them to your TBR list and move them right to the very top!! A must read series!

I was one of those little girls who was obsessed with fairytales, so as an adult I am always on the hunt for a spicier adventure. Kristos aka Hot Adonis Guy was a wonderful Prince Charming - endearing and incredibly hot. Em was sweet and adorable, and their relationship tugged at my heartstrings.
Was it a bit predictable? Yes. We’re there plenty of the cliche romance tropes? Sure. Was it still a sweet, hopelessly romantic tale with a nice dose of steaminess? Absolutely!.

I’m not sure if this is supposed to be a retelling or update of a fairytale, a take on Greek mythology or a mix of both. What I found it to be was confusing. Modern times mix with magic and myths and there is some romance too. I just found it hard to keep up. My two cents your mileage may vary.

Courted is a great story about Emmaline, an American visiting a small monarchy in the Mediterranean for a much needed break. I received an early release copy through NetGalley. Emmaline’s parents were in a horrific accident while she was away working on her graduate degree in music. The accident resulted in both her mother and father requiring round-the-clock care. Emmaline put her degree on hold to come home to Missouri to care for her parents. It has been over a year and she has not had a break. Her former college roommates take her to Garronia as part of their European vacation. Early in their trip Emmaline is saved by Prince Kristos while swimming in treacherous waters. Prince Kristos was out on military maneuvers on the beach when he pretty much literally runs into Em. They have a connection that is witnessed by many, including the paparazzi. Kristos is called back to the castle to prepare for taking the throne when his father relinquishes it. One of his duties to begin choosing a wife when all he wants to do is to be left alone to serve his country in the military which unfortunately is not an option.
I am by no means a royal watcher but, I have found a love for these royal stories. They are a welcome break from some of the darker books I read. I enjoyed the adventure of Kristos and Em as they try to stay one step ahead of the paparazzi and Kristos parents and guards. The chase scenes, though quite dangerous, were exciting. The romance between Kristos and Em was well developed and keeps the reader’s attention. Jennifer Chance also has a way of writing the sex scenes so that they are hot but not dirty. Another good aspect of Courted was watching both Emmaline and Kristos grow. Emmaline always understood her duties to family but she managed to lose herself while caring for her parents. It takes Kristos a bit more to come to terms with family duty, though both of them appear to be grieving without realizing it. It is great to watch them come together and support each other’s choices and learn from each other despite the short amount of time they have known each other. One of the best lines in the book is when each of them describes when they realized they loved the other person. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I was pleasantly surprised by that one (let me tell you, 2.5-3 stars is high praise from me for a romance novel) and I think it was mainly because the love interest wasn't an overly possessive, majorly jealous and territorial dude who tried to control the woman the whole time. It was still absolutely ridiculous, but I was expecting that and picked up this book because of that. This satisfied my need for cheese and angst (although omg this is the definition of insta-love) and I'm curious to see where this series goes next.

Where the help do I start I mean, I loved it!
It was sweet, cute and beautiful read so far this year!
Emmaline is a sweet and strong leading lady she is loyal but she had wandered through life on fairy tales gifted to her by her mother. Her life tragically changed she gave up her dreams to look after her parents. Now after being dragged on holiday by her friends she finally gets a piece of her own forgettable, and it plays out beautifully I was glued to every word.
Prince Kristos was never suppose to be crown Prince and never wanted that life he is happy with his life in the military and doesn't want to fulfil his royal duties that was left to him after his brothers plane crash (which seems a bit too mysterious for me). He is a typical alpha but is torn between duty and what he wants, and his choice gets more difficult when he meets Emmaline.
So there were parts in this story where it bought tears to my eyes and any author who can drag that emotion out of me is a winner to me. It's has a good few life lessons for each character too like how life doesn't always go your way and how you deal with it means everything.
The contrast and different personalities between the characters ranging from the queen to Emmaline's friends is fantastic definitely a few characters that I'm certainly intrigued by.
I read this is one sitting and I couldn't put it down roll on January 16 for the next book I absolutely loved it and cannot wait for more from this author.

A vacation from home turns into a TRUE Fairytale. This story has insta-love,hot times, fun friends and an "international incident". I really enjoyed this book. I truly am such a sucker for fairytales and being swept away in them. To imagine yourself to be seen by a prince who is can we say HAWT! Kristos is hot and a rebellious Prince with flaws. Oh you read that right Flaws. And Emmaline is a broken girl who had to give up her dreams. I know you see where this is going. But trust me when I saw Jennfier Chance takes you there in the most enjoyable way. As with most fairytales I've read the plot seems predictable I loved the current times spin on this tale. I found myself enjoying the characters of the book and did find that Emmaline and Kristos were definitely the stars of the book, all the supporting characters faded to the background until the end.
I'm excited and can't wait for the next in the series just to come ack to my fairytale land of Garronia.

A vacation from home turns into a TRUE Fairytale. This story has insta-love,hot times, fun friends and an "international incident". I really enjoyed this book. I truly am such a sucker for fairytales and being swept away in them. To imagine yourself to be seen by a prince who is can we say HAWT! Kristos is hot and a rebellious Prince with flaws. Oh you read that right Flaws. And Emmaline is a broken girl who had to give up her dreams. I know you see where this is going. But trust me when I saw Jennfier Chance takes you there in the most enjoyable way. As with most fairytales I've read the plot seems predictable I loved the current times spin on this tale. The book is like a fairytale which I loved. What can I say I'm a hopeless romantic. this book is every once's little girls dream. Of finding true love and finding a Prince charming. this book is for those dreamers that still believe in that fairytale.
Courted reminded me of Cinderella a little bit or if you ever watched that movie the Prince and Me. The heroine gives up her education to take care of her physically ill parents. Her find finally convinces her to take a trip abroad to enjoy herself. She flies to Europe and there is where se meets Kristos. He is a crowned prince, he is such a charmer he doesn't even have to even try really.
In any true Prince and commoner romance they face a lot of obstacles and adversaries. Together they can shatter then without force. true love can conquer it all. It was nice to read this story and relive that romance idea of finding Mr. Right. that you can find love when you least expect it.

3.5 Cocktails
Cute royal romance. I enjoyed both characters, but felt the story was rushed just a little bit in order to get Kristos and Emmaline to their HEA. I think to truly believe the whirlwind romance, we needed to be with Kristos and Em a little bit more. We had the sense he was torn between his duty and her, but I needed more clandestine meetings in the palace outside of the ball, for the two of them to truly lay everything out there as far as their wants and dreams.
It was still a cute story and set up the rest of the series, as I'm sure the extra week the 4 women will be spending in Garronia will lead to more whirlwind romances for Kristos and Em's friends.

A heroine with a brain! And her own life! In a princess story. I very much enjoyed the read. The first couple chapters were a bit slow but once the book got going it really took off. A fun ride.

This book could have been a lot more of everything, and then it would have been a bit better.
