Sina Wheeler is your typical woman, living with her roommate, working from home, and trying to make it day by day. A regular at the Druid’s Grove Sina has a few unusual friends, including a witch named Oona, but her best friend is her roommate, Gia. And Gia may just be a vampire. Or a Goth sunk so far into the lifestyle that she’s harming herself. Sina dismisses Gia’s behaviours and pale appearance as a phase, after all, her friend lost her parents at an early age. Who else would have the right to be depressed and into darkness?
Sina is pretty sure her dismissal of the pale skin and Goth look is all wrong when she finds Gia squeezing a steak for dear life in the middle of the kitchen one night. Can Sina save her friend? And will the help come from a doctor trained in medical problems or Oona, the all-knowing witch? Sina is facing a battle for her friend’s life that may turn into a battle for her own. Can she win against something she has no understanding of?
I downloaded this book via google play, so I had something to read due to needing to take as little as possible to work.
I like seeing "about the book" at the beginning but than I read the first page and it almost felt pointless that about the book was inside the book.
Sina mentions she's 28, but why does she talk like a wise old woman or a mother whose comforted children? It's such an odd piece of dialogue for sina.
I'm not sure what POV this is supposed to be cause it feels like 3rd but than it's almost a tip toe into 4th wall breaking and it's a bit jarring.
Did the author meant to write "throne" or is "thrown" meant in being thrown across the room? The sentence reads as if it meant the chair and not the latter.
this story reads as a fanfic between twilight x true blood. how can you believe in witches but not vampires?

This was a step out for S.Y. Robins, this was not just a quick, cozy mystery, it was full of the paranormal as well. Sina is just your regular girl next door. When her roommate starts acting weird, she does what’s right and takes her to the hospital. Only problem, the reason her roommates acting different is because a vampire is trying to make her his bride. With the help of her friend Oona (a witch) they discovered the problem and work to correct it. This is a nice step out from the usually quick, cozy mysteries and I really enjoyed it. The addition of all the paranormal creatures was a plus for me!!
