Sen'giza

Rate this book
Faced with a threat from the stars, magical creatures are forced to resurface from a realm of myths and legends. But will the humans they abandoned so long ago prove ally or enemy?

The might of twenty-first century science will clash against the arcane magic of faeries, and in the middle is Kelli Ingram, a young sorceress imprisoned by a creature that is neither human or faery.

Sen'giza is a unique adventure blending hi-tech science fiction with traditional sword-and-sorcery. Pidgin-speaking surfers learn how cast spells while magical elves learn about sniper rifles and guided munitions, but that's just the beginning. A galaxy-crossing ship holds the key to Earth's future... if the humans and faeries can keep from killing each other.

JD Cole was born and raised in Hawaii, where he enjoyed being a beach bum until he decided he needed money. He went to college where he was bored out of his mind and wrote several amateur comics and short stories that came about because he had a difficult time finding stories that crossed all of his favorite genres. Why can't Spiderman, a D&D party, Jack Ryan, and a Gundam all get together to fight Darth Vader and dragons? And of course, the challenge is to write such a story so it belongs on the shelf next to the likes of Ender's Game and The Shannara series, and not have it read like a comic book or (ugh) The Last Jedi.

These stories eventually became a novel -- Sen’giza. Originally titled Genesis, he realized that title was way too generic and so rearranged the phonetics to make up a word.

He then spent over twenty years working in various telecommunication and IT roles across the world, from beautiful remote Pacific islands to Naval bases on the Atlantic coast, all while surfing, scuba-diving and scarfing every bit of seafood he could get his hands on, cooked or not. For a brief time, he worked as a technician fixing giant wind turbines before returning the world of IT where his focus became cybersecurity. Somewhere in the middle of all that, he self-published Sen'giza and began writing the sequels, having never lost his love of science fiction and fantasy stories.

He currently lives in the American Midwest with his wife and daughters.
