Three books to detail a few hours in a single day

Yes, a trilogy so detailed it took the author three novels to tell his story.

The basic premise showed originality and much promise. The story of a wealthy young girl who can do amazing things. Her recluse Father the richest man on Earth and also a scientific genius who invents things that help mankind. But what is Finn/Infinity?

They go on a school trip to her Father's manufacturing compound. There all Hell breaks loose as the computer system goes haywire and security protocols are invoked. The students are hunted by killer robots (just where have we seen that theme of late?).

Most of books one, two, and three are about the student's fight to stay alive. And here is where it loses credibility. As robots hunt the invaders, wanton destruction happens as security robots shoot and destroy just about everything. That just doesn't make any sense. Why? Think about it, would security wreak havoc on the buildings and areas it's meant to protect? Nope, that destruction didn't make sense. And once I realised that, I kept praying for the book to end, and end fast. But it didn't. It dragged through battle after battle, until finally it reached a quick, and expected, conclusion.

Did I guess the end? I was close - I figured out much of what was going on, but not all. And even in ending, some things didn't make sense.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Okay, what happens with Nanny? First she's a killer entity without much emotion except for hate and one question gets her to change? Deus ex Machina!

And Daddy recorded his brain once a week. But as soon as he's amongst the dearly departed, he knows what's been going on, even up to the minute he left? I'm not buying it. It's just another deus ex machina.

And Daddy was already out in the world, right? So what happened to him? If Nanny and Mom are going to be around, then where's Daddykins?

Well, these books were cheap, and you really do get what you pay for, really!

As far as recommending them? Nope, nada, non, nein, etc. But if the author ever rewrites them, to condense the hours of battle to a few key fights, and expands the story to explain, really explain, Infinity, then I might recommend them. Until then, stay away. Sorry, but this is my opinion.

Yep - just 2 days to read this book. It was a fantastic finale to the series. I highly recommend this series for any sci-fi fan.

I had so many expectations for this book, I wanted this to be good, and for the most part it was, but I like to get closure, I like my books to answer my questions and don't let loose ends, but, even if it managed to answer the big questions, there were a lot of things that were left in the air and that I just don't understand,

So it was a story with a lot of potential, but I think that the author should have removed the stuff that wasn't important instead of letting it hanging in the air unexplained. Some of the elements were good, and others were too crazy. I think if they had taken the time to really explain the situation from the beginning things would have gone differently.

I was a little down in the end

I wanted to see a bit of the relationship between Carlo and Finn. All in all, the entire series is fast paced and a pleasure to read.

The trilogy is an interesting & captivating story, writing style hinders it.

My reactions to this trilogy are similar to many of the other reviewers. Overall very action packed story that was arbitrarily cut into 3 books. The events happen over a single day, there was no need for multiple books. It was an interesting choice to pair such an action packed storyline with so much useless descriptive prose. It slowed the story down in seemingly random parts. The story itself was interesting which is why I felt compelled to read the entire trilogy. If it was not part of kindle unlimited I likely wouldn't have.

I literally have no idea what's going on in this final volume.

The narrative shifts and multiple personalities between "Finn" and "Inifinty" are so frequent and unexplained that it's impossible to keep track of. Revelations in one chapter ("this person is bad") are ignored or contradicted (without explanation) shortly thereafter ("this person is good"). Multiple plot threads are teased and then dropped (threatened pandemics, secret teams of codenamed soldiers, etc etc). Critical characters are introduced WAY too late in the book and function solely as deus ex machinas.

Uggh.

This book was a bit choppy. It was hard to follow and there are some aspects that have no finality. It was a pretty good story buy it was a lot of work. I wanted answers and a feeling of conclusion. I only got about half of each. It is well worth reading but if you are like me and like the questions to be tidied up by the end, you will be a bit disappointed. Reading the other books made it too hard for me to skip on this once. I think it is at least as good as book 2, possibly even better, but I liked book 2 more and book 1 the most.

This Trilogy started out soo promising. I by the third book just wanted to stop. I guessed what would happen, and it did. But it did so, in the most stupid generic way. From beginning to the end of this book, I was REALLY hoping that Infinity, would take over. The main character fin, kept saying things like "I'm the strong one!" less than two lines later, "Infinity where are you!?" 'I need your strength!?'... This is how you are strong? You're strong because you ask for help on the actually physically strong one? Okay, I understand that physical strength isn't the only kind of strength there is. However that discounts the fact that Fin is the strong one, that is asking for help from the weak one, constantly. I didn't see the point in that, and that she does this multiple times, made me want to bash my face in. You can't be strong and than demand help, from someone that is weaker than you, according to you. Obviously, that was supposed to show how infinity/fin are having an internal conflict and that they realize that it's better to work together instead of against each other. Again make the prediction on the second book, but I was hoping infinity won, she did not. Yeah, the ending no enjoyable for me, so much so that if I didn't finish it, I would have still walked away not losing anything.

What. A. Rush! In this epic conclusion to the Infinity Trilogy, we get most of the answers to the questions we've been asking all along, though little closure to anything. (The "epilogue", such as it exists, is barely 1 page long.) And yes, there are bits and pieces of seeming inconsistency - without giving too much away, at one point there is a Kinetic Kill Vehicle mentioned (ie, a space=based solid metal pole, which is how it is described in the book). Except that when it is finally used, it goes off like a nuclear detonation - which KKVs do *not* do.

The most important thing to remember about this Trilogy is that it was never really about the events that finally get answered and resolved in the final third of this third book of the trilogy - literally the last 1/9th of the saga. This Trilogy is about Finn/Infinity and the struggle for her to learn who and what she is. And in that particular arena, this book and this Trilogy truly shines - and gives us the most answers and resolution.

One of the best sci-fi sagas I've read of late.

İki kitablıq burulğanlı beyindən sonra üçüncünün bu cür aydınlıq yaradıb, demək olar ki, bütün suallara cavab verməsi çox əla idi.
Düşünəndə, amma bəzi nöqtələrə əsəbiləşməyə bilmirəm; oxuyanda biləcəyiniz, Tereza dayə səhnəsi məni cinləndirdi😂
Son səhnə isə emosianal idi, amma bu qədər çatapatın içində bir az daha duyğu qata bilərdi yazıçı, zənnimcə:)
Nəticədə, oxuyub bitirdikdə və həmçinin oxuduqca, müəllif haqqında "necə də ağıllı birisidir" deyə düşünməyə bilmirəm.

Başqa detallara toxunsam, tərcümə həmişəki kimi yaxşı idi.

Kitab mənə demək olar, çox tez-tez "Alita. Battle Angel"i xatırladırdı. Həm kitabı oxuyub, həm filmi izləsəz, sizə də bəlkə elə gələr.

Belə. Maraqlı fantastik seriya idi. Oxuduğum digər fantastik kitablardan daha rəqəmsal və fərqli idi😁
Nə isə. Xoş mütaliə oldu.

Boş vaxtınız olsa və, əgər fantastika sevirsinizsə, içinə də texnika və kompyuterlər, kvant zərrəcikləri qatılmış bu kitab tam sizlikdir😁🖖🏾🖖🏾

I really liked books 1 and 2 in this series, but this one kind of lost me at times. The characters are great, and I really enjoy them. But the story meanders a lot. It didn't feel like we were driving to one central point, but just surmounting new challenges every few chapters. It felt a little like hitting the big boss in a video game, except that we hit the boss level at least once every fifth chapter or so. I also think a lot of the character development feels convenient. They're presented with a challenge and conveniently discover that they have a power / talent that is perfectly suited to handle this exact situation.

I enjoyed the trilogy overall, but this one wasn't the page-turner that parts 1 & 2 were.

If you're interested in innovative science fiction, this series is a must read. I really enjoyed all three books, the character exploration, and the glimpse into an incredibly advanced world with a mysterious mastermind behind all of the innovations. Mr. Blackstone is the man that the world has to thank for just about every piece of technology that they use on daily basis, and not even his daughter, Infinity, knows much about him.

Infinity attends a school for the extremely wealthy, and while things are going great for her, she has started to have dreams of another life where she is a brutal assassin with absolute control over her body. She is able to run faster and hit harder than humanly possible, harden her bones and skin so that they are like steel, and heal near-fatal injuries. It turns out that the dreams are a reality. There is another person inside of Infinity, who is a cold hearted killer. While her amazing hacker friend manages to hack into Blackstone Industries to land a class trip to a super top secret base, so that Infinity can talk to the father that she's only seen once or twice all her life, something twists the ai that controls the most advanced science facility in the world and turns the high tech walking machines of death on a killing spree.

And to prevent any big spoilers, I'm gonna stop there! The first book really hooks you in, and pushes you along into the next two. If any of that is around your ballpark, or if you're interested in a very intense internal struggle with the fight to become a dominant personality in a single body, you should preview it for sure, and if the writing style suits you, enjoy!

Well, I just finished number 3 in the Infinity Trilogy!

Number three in the infinity trilogy is the best of them all ! I hope I will be able to find more books by this author. I love the way he tells a story. The characters are all so believable even though this is really a fantasy story the likes of none I have read before. I loved every word! I would recomend these books to anyone who loves a great read.

Terrific series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Well written, interesting characters with an intriguing story in a fascinating world. Some of this could easily become true which likely makes it scarier. I did feel that it seemed to get a little too neat and tidy in favour of our protagonists towards the end but I've felt that with a fair few books so it is likely just me.

Oh and I'd like Infinitiy's abilities.

Highly recommended.

strange

This book can be summed up with one word, strange. It’s kind of all over the place, but goes into huge amounts of detail. It’s so different, in my opinion, from the first two books. In those books, there is a clear “bad guy,” but in this one it keeps changing and I had trouble following along with that. At points I was like wait isn’t that person supposed to be bad, only to remember they gained a conscience at some point.

Great Adventure!

I really liked how there were secrets that were revealed in the last book which tied the entire story together. The characters were great although Professor Francis was quite annoying near the end. There was a great combination of action, friendship, family, mystery, and suspense.

Fun book

It was a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. Nice twists and turns to keep it interesting. The only issue is that the author really kept all the reveals until the end instead of spreading them out a bit more evenly in books 2 and 3. The exposition sometimes slowed the story down. But otherwise, very good.

I waited impatiently for this final book in the series. The first two I flew through and just couldn't wait to see what happened with the main character. I appreciated that the author wasn't afraid to break from the normal story flow and through some curve balls in that kept me even more on the edge of my chair. This was a book I could not put down. I highly recommend reading this series.

It always sucks when a great series comes to an end... but I'm really glad I got to go along for the ride that the author created. It was action packed with plenty of twists thrown in that took me by surprise. Can't wait for Mr. Harrison to write more books!

After getting past books 1&2, I couldn't not read 3. It was action packed from start to end - and though somewhat predictable, also had enough twists to keep it interesting. Wrapped up most of the loose ends (though frustratingly not all), making it a fairly satisfying conclusion to the series.

Decent books. Overly detailed in my opinion though. Good enough to have read the series. I think the battles scenes could have been a little less detailed and still have pulled it just the same. Decent books still tho

Infinity Reborn

This was definitely the best of the Infinity "Trilogy". I actually enjoyed reading it and am glad I stuck with it. It was still too wordy and it still should have been part of one book but super glad I kept reading.
