Who doesn’t love a birthday party? Especially a toddler’s. There’s sugar, balloons, games—all the makings for fun; that is unless it’s the first toddler birthday party you’ve ever planned in your life. It can’t be that hard, Anna Foster decides; and when she’s decided something, that’s it. The ones she attended as a guest were a blast, and surely there’s nothing that over organisation, a checklist or three, and a Type A personality can’t fix, right? Though the smirk her mother keeps throwing her way is a little off-putting. Maybe four checklists would be better. Or maybe a glass of wine.
Benson spent her childhood wrapped up in any book she could get her hands on and—as her mother likes to tell people at parties—even found a way to read in the shower. Moving on from writing bad poetry (thankfully) she started to write stories. About anything and everything. Tearing her from her laptop is a fairly difficult feat, though if you come bearing coffee you have a good chance. When not writing or reading, she´s got her butt firmly on a train or plane to see the big wide world. Originally from Australia, she currently lives in Spain, speaking terrible Spanish and going on as many trips to new places as she can, budget permitting. This means she mostly walks around the city she lives in.
This was such a delight to read. It makes you happy. A sweet short story with wonderful crazy little moments on a perfect day with beautiful people. What more do you want?
A cute addition to All the Little Moments. It was nice spending time with Anna, Lane, Kym, Ella and Toby once again. I really hope we get another installment in the future.
This is a beautiful little companion piece to All the Little Moments. The part of me that loves these characters wishes it were 1000 pages long, but novels require some tension, some angst, whereas short stories can be perfect little bubbles, the tiny bright memories you pull out later to see you through all that angst when it finally shows up. And, really, that's what this is: a brief look at a perfect day, made even more gratifying by everything we know the characters experienced in the previous book.
Everyone gets a little moment here, and there are a number of callbacks to All the Little Moments; not so many as to feel forced or repetitive, but enough to remind us of exactly who these people are and why we like them so very much. I really enjoyed this.
Special note to the author: if you write a short story every week, I'll buy all of them. Just sayin'.
Short story/long epilogue for Benson’s All the Little Moments - 9 months later, the family is celebrating Toby’s 2nd Birthday. It opens with Lane telling Anna that she lost Toby in the store... Reminds me of when a friend/co-worker took his 2 kids to the mall to shop for their Mom’s present. His kids were about the same ages as Ella & Toby. He lost his little son in a store - Keith said he panicked & started running up & down the aisles looking for him with his daughter right behind him. She asked “Daddy why are we running?” “I’m looking for your brother!” “Daddy! stop! He’s right behind us!” His son was following right behind them. Giggling, thinking they were playing a game. When he told us the story - I couldn’t stop laughing. Keith however (like Lane) was still traumatized. Needless to say - he never took them the mall again. I still laugh about it.

I will NEVER get enough of having the kids cuddle with both Anna and Lane. Like the entire crawling into bed stuff and not just going for Anna, but also crawling up to Lane and cuddling her? That's what I'm here for. They're soft and they're this amazing family and I love them so much that I don't know what to do with myself now that I finished both the book and the short story. God, I already miss them right now. I've lost my heart to all of them and there's no turning back... and I love that Lane basically lives with Anna and the kids even though she still has her own apartment... it's like they turned into this loving family that's just too good to be true.

It was so lovely meeting Anna, Kane, Ella and Toby again in this sequel novella. This was such a feel-good story that made me smile. Although it is very short, it is a delightful piece of fiction that perfectly continues Anna's story. Honestly, I could read about these characters all the time, they are just so fun to have around. G. Benson comes across as a very talented author even in a short piece of fiction such as this one. So, if you've read "All The Little Moments", I highly recommend that you pick this up immediately. I mean, honestly, what is better than spending time with this wonderful family at Toby's birthday party? It's so sweet and wonderful seeing them all together a few months down the road and just enjoying the light-heartedness.
This is the perfect companion to All the Little Moments. Ella and Toby are doing great, and Lane is slowly settling into her adopted family. I wouldn't mind another installation set years down the line!
Expectedly adorable short story about Anna, Lane, Ella and Toby. You’ll probably like it so much more if you read All the Little Moments first, though.
4 stars. A very sweet and adorable epilogue to All the Little Moments. Everyone celebrating Toby’s second birthday and it was a cute and quick read. I love these characters so much. Perfect ending for them.
G Benson wrote a cute sequel to All the Little Moments. It's nice to see the relationships grow. I loved both this book and the previous. Author is very talented at bringing out emotions. I will continue to follow the author for new releases.
I absolutely love Anna, Lane, Bella, and especially Toby. I love All The Little Moments and All Wrapped Up is a cute short story about Tobys second birthday party. I definitely recommend G Benson's The Little Moments and this one just to check up on the characters. There should definitely be a an actual sequel to The Little Moments!
I think this was a very sweet short story. I would this author continue the storyline with Anne and Lane. This couple is very sweet and it would be fun to see more of them.
