Reading these Pam romances are kind of a guilty pleasure for me, one I usually indulge in while I am flying. Suzanne Jenkins must write very well, because I usually think to myself at the end, "Wow! These folks are really messed up! I think I'm done with this series!" And yet, and yet...I keep moving on to the next one, because I care about the characters and what will come next. The histories of each character are complex and troubling, and all characters are touched (in some way, either during his life or after his death) by a very disturbed and charming man, Jack, who leads a double life of truly staggering deception. Watching the women and men move forward and recover from his choices, even years later, is fascinating. I think I will be reading Pam of Babylon 13: Meet Me at the Beach, after all!
