If I, who climbed this mountain every summer for 6 years and returned in 2018 to climb it again after 37 years, did not find this book compelling, I do not know who its audience would be.
This book was for me, Moosilauke history nerd extraordinaire. I absolutely loved it. Recommended for anyone with expansive knowledge of the history of the mountain, or lovers or historical fiction, or anybody.
This book will get you invested in this mountain even if you've never heard of it. The history infused into it is personal and the stories are engaging. I'm not a mountain, outdoor or hiking person but I felt a connection anyway.
We go to New Hampshire frequently and really love it there. My husband bought this book last year and kept telling me to read it. After he dragged me up and down the mountain I figured I might as well read the book about all the people who hiked the mountain over the centuries. It was interesting but you have to love NH to get into it.
