"Ms. Hellenthal has done it again! This story doesn't change folklore or history, it just makes it right. Another story to love by a talented author." - Victoria Avilan, Author of The Art of Peeling an Orange

I was curious as to how Ms. Hellenthal's retelling of the classic tale with a lesbian angle. I really enjoyed the flow of the story, although the actual narrator's identity is left for the reader to discover while reading story. The love between Fionnuala and Aoife is beautifully detailed and the characters are well-written. The emphasis on how tales can sometimes be told for different reasons by differing generations is a good one. The lyrical details and sensuality make this enjoyable for a lazy Sunday afternoon. It was a very enjoyable read. I look forward to the other entries in the series.

A fascinating tale that kept me spellbound. The setting was very well described, it was easy to imagine ancient Ireland. A bit of adventure, fantasy, a touch of magic, Irish spells, myths, legends, passion and love. Put all this together plus the style of writing and you have an excellent story. I can definitely recommend this book to everyone.
I loved that it was set in Ireland - I have been to Ireland this summer so it was a nice extension to my trip. It was a different story with magic and written in ancient time but that made it even more intriguing. I would definitely would recommend this book.
This story is a different view of an old Irish fable. I was a very nice and kind of interesting story. I did have a few issues with this book though. I don't know if the formatting in the Kindle book was off or what the deal was but this was a Very hard book to read. When you have a more poetic type story with so many descriptive words it's takes a little more concentration than an ordinary book. There were weird spaced in the middle of sentences. This little thing almost made me want to go back and re-read it just to be sure I got the meaning correct. There was another issue, I'm going to blame the proofreader on this one but What the hel was it with al the missing 'L's'? OMG! Talk about diverting your attention. It real y made it quite hel ish to read. LOL If the proofreading and formatting was done over, this would be a very nice book to relax and read.
I really enjoyed the new take on a well-known myth! I found it a little hard to follow who was speaking until it was confirmed at the end. It's clear that the author has done her research into the original myth and put a lot of thought into the re-telling of it. All in all, I thought it was a sweet little story to while away a lazy afternoon.
The Cursed by Natasja Hellenthal is by far my favorite story of all the mythology series. I'm quite familiar with the original legend and I was impressed with this retelling.

I don't know why, but every place in the book that was supposed to be ll as follow came up as fol ow. The love story of two women during the enchanted times of Ireland. It is a very short book, but I have to give it a less than stellar review due to the spelling errors. I am not usually a stickler since writers from around the world are being reviewed, but when even the author's name is missing the double l, I get distracted from the story.
The story itself puts a twist on the old Irish fairy tales and legends. If you like Irish lore or legend, you may enjoy this book, and it is a very short book. I may recommend more of her books if the text is properly proof read. Sorry to the author, maybe if you repair the text, you will get better reviews and more readers.
