Evening Murray has worked hard her whole life and never minded being alone. Now, she's finally reached her goal with a position in the British Security Service's ultra-secret Department. Eve has always been interested in behind-the-scenes power and sway, and with her job in The Department she can truly make a difference. There's only one problem: She's completely fallen for her boss.

Ronan Blackwood is beyond brilliant, influential, mysterious, and devastatingly gorgeous. He's also distant, perfectly polite, controlled, and cold. Eve longs to find out what goes on behind his frosty blue eyes and what lies beneath his wintry exterior. It's all she can do to hide how badly she wants him, day in and day out.

When shots are fired during a daring attack, Ronan and Eve follow protocol and flee to an isolated safe house. There, Eve's iron will deserts her, and the two share a passion beyond her wildest dreams (which is saying something!) Eve begins to see a side of Ronan she never imagined existed, sensual, thoughtful, and unbelievably sexual. Being with Ronan awakens her, makes her feel alive, makes her giddy with desire, and all she wants is more.

But the road ahead for these two will not be easy. Not everyone is happy that Eve is spending time with the boss, and one of the other Department agent's jealousy swiftly turns poisonous, exposing Eve to grave danger. While the connection between Ronan and Eve grows ever hotter and stronger, Ronan realizes he will do anything to protect Eve and the feelings he is developing for her. But becoming closer to her means he must reveal the terrible secret that he harbors, a secret which will change both of their lives forever and threatens to tear them apart…

Here's what it says about me in the press release for my new novel 'Sway':

Katherine Savage has been a bartender, a purveyor of adventure cruises to the Canadian arctic, a world traveler and, most recently, the author of the smoking-hot new erotic thriller, Sway. Savage and her long-time love – now husband – currently reside in Toronto, where they continue to worry that all of the books from her reading addiction will soon take over their home.

Here's where I pinch myself in ecstatic disbelief that there is press release for a book I have written! I am so incredibly thankful to have gotten this far, to be living this dream. I've always told stories and have been writing since I figured out how to hold a pen. I hope (at least some) people enjoy reading my work as much as I enjoy creating it.

When you are a romance book junkie you find that there aren't very many different themes out there. But what you do find is huge differences in an author's ability to tell a story.

Sway is one of those stories that is going to be with you for quite a while.

This author has an amazing ability to describe, in minute detail, everything you ever wanted to know that's running through the brain of those characters developed for a romance novel.

The story is not what I expected in the least and as I went through this massive book, that took me four days to read, by the way, even though I'm a very fast reader, I realized in several places where this book was going. However I was still surprised in many areas in the development of the story.

The book is mainly sex, which I don't have a problem with and rather enjoy, but as a reader you need to be prepared to experience sex in multiple ways that could be a bit disturbing to some and in extreme detail.

While I can appreciate and do highly enjoy reading books that are all-inclusive instead of reading three or four series, this book is extremely long and highly detailed. The author does have an amazing talent for writing but the immense detail can be overwhelming as well.

Overall, I truly love this book and the story she tells. As a reader, however I would like to see a little less in-depth detail. I was amazed that even with the fact most of the book was sex, it was not repetitive. That is extremely difficult to do as an Author and I commend her for her excellent work and keeping the interest throughout this book. I look forward to other works in the future.

4 intricate and intriguing stars. The biggest drawback for this book is how in detail the author makes every scene which causes the book to be extremely lengthy. While I like detail, I think a little bit less would make this book appeal to the masses as the story, at its core, is fascinating. I also think the story could have been broken up into two books rather than one extremely long book but then again I'm a natural marketer and so see it through a need to appease the public. Overall, I was kept very interested through the entire book.

Personally, I didn't struggle to finish this book because I was emotionally and mentally invested in what everything meant, what would happen and so forth. I liked the explicit detail and shifting between his and her points of view. I even found myself liking Ronan's odd control over himself and Eve's constant thinking. There's a slow build up that kind of rocks you a bit because while you get clues you are never really certain what the actual truth is and it is quite interesting. There's more than meets the eye which is why I think I liked reading this story so much, many elements all rolling into one another to create the story that is Ronan and Evening's love story.

Ronan is known as an ice cube and pretty much demands respect yet instills fear. He's a workaholic and accomplishes incredible feats for his country while also managing insane amounts of stress. He's calculating, cold, intuitive and something you really can't quite place your finger on. When he gets Evening into bed, well, cold is most definitely not the word I would use to describe him. Words such as passionate, animalistic and aggressive come to mind.

Evening is a puzzle that Ronan struggles to figure out. She isn't fearful of him but quite attracted to him. She craves him in a way that shocks him to his senses. Evening is clever, intuitive, honest and giving. She's easy to like and amused me thoroughly. I don't know if I could have been so open-minded in her position but I found it worked well. She balances Ronan and allows him to come out of his shell while he gives her what she needs in return.

You have got to read this book!!!

I will admit it that cover art makes a difference sometimes and this is one of those times. I also for selfish reasons, picked this because of the male characters name which is Ronan. I expected a romance, and reading the summary, some action but I did not expect what I got. What I got was jaw dropping, heart thundering, mind stimulating, and it got my attention and held it.

Ronan, head of The Department a super secret part of the British government, as well as the most brilliant man on the planet that dresses in full three piece suits, yes, I said that, has a new assistant, Evening (Eve, Mrs. Murray) Murray, as his has taken maternity leave and they are getting along well. What they do not know is that they have feelings for one another that are returned but just not in the normal way until he is shot at while leaving the building one night and they have to get to a safe house. Eve is shot by the assailant and has to be stitched up by Ronan and is so aroused by him just being near that it's difficult to hide it, now she has to sit still while he puts his hands on her. Well, let the games begin in the totally off the chart sex scenes.

Seriously, there are some different phrasing because of the British thing but this book and story are beautiful and amazing to read. I was hooked in the beginning and was thinking of screaming about 70% of the way through when I thought the author was going to leave me with a huge cliffhanger but fear not I am here to tell you she does not, however she does leave it open at the end for more.

The other characters in this book, one more main character, Amanda, the assistant who is on maternity leave, is intense and perfect and quite lovely, especially in the end and the bad guy are well thought out and developed. I enjoyed them all, even while wanting to put my first through the bad guy's face.

Ronan and Eve have a surprise that no one expected (no she's not pregnant) and it could end things before they really begin which is sad because these two really care for each other. Amanda, however, is helping Ronan to to try to find an answer.

Eve is left alone to run the department for a week while Ronan is away on business and during that time she is assaulted. That brings all the protective instincts from Ronan front and center.

I cannot do this book justice in this review it is entirely impossible but I hope you will read it and enjoy it as much as I do. I don't think I have ever been hooked on a book this quickly and never regretted a second of my time reading this book. Plus I love the British accents running through my head the whole time. The only negative thing is that I was constantly looking up words, thank goodness for my kindle because if I were reading this in paper it may have been frustrating, but I love to learn new words or new uses for old words.

I received this ARC through the publisher on Net Galley for an honest review.

This book was rather annoying. It took me so long to read it because of this fact.

I'm sorry to be so bluntly honest, but I did not like this book as a whole. SWAY was drawn out to the point of boredom. Seriously, I was BORED for most of the book. Many people know and understand my number one pet peeve; I hate when authors go on and on and on about mundane, minute things that is specifically not enhancing the story in any way shape or form. Let me provided you with an example. For one scene the author was giving step by step direction on what the main character was thinking and doing for waking up in the freaking morning. Literally 5 full or more pages on my kindle. I really do apologize if I a being to harsh, but I do ARC's to be honest, and honestly the book was annoying to me and the story needed work.

The erotic part of the book was good, but was not great or the best thing I have read. But I have to say, the erotic addition to this story was the only reason why I gave it a full 3 stars.

I'm not saying this book was terrible per say, but it wasn't enjoyable to me.

The plot seemed it could have been great, but the writing ruined it somewhat. My suggestion? Don't describe every single thing that the character thinks and does. Yes, the reader is suppose to connect and understand what the character is doing and feeling completely, but there is a point when it is just to much.

I really enjoyed this book! The sex scenes were incredibly detailed and a welcome change from some of the more tame story telling in this same genre. Yes, it's long. However, I think it's a trade off. Instead of a storyline being stretched out over 3 or 4 books with .5 novellas in between, each book recapping the last for the first 20 pages, this tome is a complete story arc. Maybe I'd been reading too many series like I just described and that's why I found this to be such a breath of fresh air, or maybe not.

If you like spy books, books with a hint of the supernatural, or books that will leave you thoroughly... let's say titillated (lol), give this one a shot. It really gets good around the 200 page mark.

Well. This is one I'll be thinking about for a while...
First of all, this is a *huge* book, over 700 pages of small print in the paperback edition. Second of all, I can see how it is not for everyone.
But if I find a huge book that I like it always makes me happy because it means that I can live in that world for that much longer. And really, Sway is not longer than a typical Erotica trilogy, it's just all in one book. No cliffhanger and no waiting for sequels, which I like too.
That being said, it is *very* wordy, with a tremendous amount of detail. I mean, it goes into *a lot* of detail. I personally enjoyed that though, because I like detail in Erotica, and I have to say, I found the explicit sex scenes really hot. There are tons of sex scenes, and they start close to the beginning and are peppered through most of the sprawling story. Aside from the steaminess, I also enjoyed Sway because it's *different*. There is no way I will confuse it with any of the other books I have read in the genre, and I do find that happening with quite a few of them. I haven't been reading Erotica or Erotic Thrillers for all that long, maybe 6 months, but so far I haven't found a lot of titles that really stick out in my mind. This book is not formulaic in the slightest. The two main characters, who both have point-of-views, have very different voices. There is an exciting paranormal twist, and the relationship develops in a way that I found satisfying. And did I mention the chemistry and the explicit scenes, lol? Really hot, imho. Those develop nicely too, from basic vanilla to a bit more risque, and the evolution seems natural. The language is not typical of the genre either, at least in my experience. Some of the sentences seemed literary, even beautiful to me.
But again, it's definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea. There is the *tremendous* amount of detail and a lot of "50 cent words" and a lot of the scenes and chapters are long, without a convenient place to pause. There were a few editing mistakes, which drive me crazy when I notice them. We spend so much time inside the main character's heads, knowing their fears and desires, that if you don't click with them it could seem drawn-out. Still, I liked both characters, and found the story engaging, with a nice flow. I spent a long time thinking about this one after I put it down; I'm *still* thinking about it over a month later, and thinking about re-reading some of my favorite scenes. Definitely different and exciting. (And hot, did I mention hot? Lol.)

I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first Katherine Savage's book that I read and in spite of liking the story, there were some aspects that made me reticent about keeping on reading it.

The book tells us the story of to main characters: Ronan and Evening. Ronan is the head of The Department, a super secret part of the British government. Everyone thinks that he is a cold, controlled, handsome and also mysterious man. Having been always focused on his work, Ronan soon had discarded the possibility of having a relationship with someone. However, when Eve shows up, he turns into someone else: a romantic, aggressive and somehow aminalistic man.

When both were heading home, shots were fired and Eve got hurt and that bullet was meant for Ronan. With a protocol to follow, both went to a safe house away from everything and everyone. And it is from here that their lives change.

Ronan feels the necessity of taking care of Eve's wound, mas she was not expecting that this attitude had such an effect on her. He, who has always been alone, keeps a certain distrust about Eve's intentions due to his own insecurities about himself.

Everything seemed to be fine when Ronan had to travel and Eve takes care of the work at The Department. She ends up being attacked and Ronan becomes super protective about her.

The narrative is well written, with events developed at the right rhythm along all the chapters. Yet, I think that the descriptions are too long and too detailed.

In short, in spite of the previous aspects made me lose some interest on reading this book, the plot and the characters kept me glued to it.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one; I’m used to erotic books being much shorter (not to mention faster reads) but then I read that this meant to be a whole series in one book, instead of split into a trilogy. So, no cliff-hanger(!!)
This is not your run-of-the-mill erotic story, trilogy or not. It is told in first-person from the female lead, Eve’s, PoV, with a few sections in third-person from the male lead, Ronan’s point-of-view. Almost halfway through there is a big reveal, Ronan’s ‘terrible secret,’ and I hadn’t figured it out beforehand, so I found that exciting. I liked the way the author put sentences together; I found her writing style evocative, with a nice big vocabulary. This is not a generic story either, which I loved, and the sex scenes, of which there were many, were believable, and I could actually feel the heat between the characters, which I find doesn’t happen for me with a lot of the erotica I’ve read. I’m always looking for a book with real heat in it, and I found it in Sway.
I don’t disagree with what some of the other reviewers have said, that it could be called long-winded or wordy, and goes into a lot of detail, but I found I didn’t mind it. I would even say I liked the style, and I found the pacing good. I was never bored with the story. I had no problem finishing the book, and I may re-read it. There were some editing errors, but I didn’t find any spelling mistakes.

I loved Sway, because of how well-developed the story is and the elements that remind me more of true literature.

The story line has all the elements: romance, suspense, diplomacy, a villain or two, etc. For me, I could have done without the paranormal aspect, as it seemed to be one element too many. Even the title makes you wonder: Are they swayed (persuaded into love) or swayed (swept off their feet) into love? Ms. Savage uses language extremely effectively throughout the story.

The characters were extremely well-developed. Both the heroine (Evening) and the hero (Ronan) were strong, competent, capable people who demonstrated intelligence and extreme competence. Their romance was both passionate and extremely tender. Ms. Savage does an amazing job of conveying both in the language and style of the story.

The novel is quite long with minute details. Normally, that would distract me from the story. In this case, I saw it has more of a literary device to describe these characters who are precise and exacting in their work and their mannerisms. I liked being reminded of their characterizations through the rhetoric of the story rather than just the author characterizing Evening and Ronan with just words.

I would highly recommend Sway!

DNF 59% - I was enjoying the book very much - until Ronan's "bonding" kicked in and all of a sudden I was reading sci-fi reasons for Eve and Ronan's attraction. A pity, I think the romance was interesting enough in that Ronan was slowly thawing to a relationship - but oh, well. For what it is also worth, there were a LOT of minor punctuation, spelling and grammatical mistakes.

This book is loooong. So long. From the description I thought it was kind of a James Bond-Miss Moneypenny erotic thriller kind of deal, except it turns out the male lead is a sort of vampire and there is less espionage and more recovering from sexual assault than I expected.

Not only is this book long and overly verbose, it doesn't even bother using words correctly! Ascent is used for assent. The word meet is used in a way I have never heard it used before and I read non-American authors all the time. The author uses the phrase in the inveighing time, and my best guess is that she means intervening, because to inveigh means to write or speak with great hostility. These malapropisms have the unfortunate effect of taking me out of the story every single time. And I get it, this was an 841 page beast of a novel, so it's no surprise that someone skimped on the proofreading.

As for story, while there is nothing truly groundbreaking here, the kind of not-vampire the main character is and his bond with the heroine (who is stupidly named Evening) is well thought out and the relationship is well-plotted. The author also does a good job of alternating point of views, and Ronan's pov is markedly different from Evening's in a good way. My main issue is this, I picked this up because I thought it would be a quick read. It was not. It was an absolute shock to realize how many pages this book was and for the genre it was also exceptionally dense at times. Though I do appreciate that it wasn't a multiparter since I'm kind of over those too.

This is a really different erotic book. I have read so many erotic stories that are same-old, same-old, like they are just being churned out to satisfy the current formula. This one really stands out for me. There is a lot of time spent inside the main character's heads, both hers and his, and a lot of their inner thoughts and inner dialogues and a lot of details about their surroundings. I personally enjoyed that, though. I felt like the all the description helped to set a mood and convey a deeper understanding of the characters. It's definitely a different style for the genre, but I liked it. By the time I finished I felt like I knew Eve and Ronan and cared for them. I was almost sad when the book was over, and it is a whopper -it took me 5 days to read it, and it never takes me 5 days to read anything unless I am majorly busy. I really enjoyed the dual PoV's, and the way it illustrated to me how different Eve and Ronan are, and yet how the same in fundamental ways. I enjoyed the way their thoughts echoed one another. There maybe should have been more lead-up to them having sex, but the book took off with a bang and didn't let up in that department. Like everything, the sex scenes were drawn out and descriptive, but I enjoyed that too.
All in all this was a scorching hot read written in an interesting voice. The blurb hints that there may be more to the story, and I hope so, even though the story was wholly satisfying.

I received this book as an ARC and for the second time in my 2+ years of reviewing books I was unable to finish this book. I hate doing this and I don't leave any star rating as I didn't finish it so it's not fair to the author to rate it super low when others might enjoy it. Let me surmise what turned me off this the best I can. The writing style just was NOT for me, this book is well over 800 pages and I can guess that over 500 of those are filled with the endless dithering of the female lead, Eve. She just prattles on and on and it's all rather boring. How many flipping times can long be used as a descriptor in one book? Well let me say I lost count 50 times in and not even 37% through this book. I wanted to like the switches to the male lead, Ronan's POV but sadly it was written in such a way I just spent most of my time scratching my head and thinking "whaaaaa??". I never even got to the bottom of what Ronan is, what else this duo will face and what it will mean for Eve and while I am mildly curious I just can't read any further. Don't let my review discourage you from trying this, bc everyone has a different writing style that appeals to them but I would def read a sample of if before one clicking it.

First of all, I’d like to claim that a totally respect the authors: they work hard, they create a story, they share it and they expose themselves to opinions.

This review is written with absolute respect for author’s work and story, and I hope she’ll take it as it is: my modest opinion.

I only can give it 1 star, for the work she put in this story.

A story that could have worked so well, since the plot is interesting.
But my big issue with the book was the writing.
I’m not saying it’s bad, no, it’s too “chirurgical”, too descriptive, too cold.
It reminded me of one of our writers in French Lit: Balzac, who used 10 pages (even more) to describe a pebble…
I totally zoned out when I should have been immerse in the story.
And it’s a shame because the plot has a quite great potential.
Why had I the impression all the time that I was living the story trough a robot (him) o trough the “straying” thoughts of her?
I totally got lost somewhere and, I have to confess, I skipped several pages when I reached about 43 % of the book. It never took me one whole week to finish a book, even if it’s big. I read trilogies in less time, that what happens when I love the story: I can’t put the book down.

I’m really sorry, but this book was not for me, didn’t work for me.

Completely different than what I was expecting!
Sway surprised me, I'm glad I'm not the type of person who reads the ending before I start a book, because I would have been so confused in the beginning then. This book is adventurous, erotic, and has a twist that leads to a much bigger story. The storyline is intriguing, and the sexy scenes were very sexy, hence a three star review. That being said, this novel was difficult for me to enjoy fully. It is incredibly long, the story itself could have been told in probably less than half of what it was. The writing became slightly mundane and repetitive and it took a lot of concentration on my part to fully read the entire book. I also didn't really like the characters in the beginning, Ronan came off as cold and dull, and Eve was smart but tedious. However, they grew on me a little as the story went on, the interspersed inner-monologue of Ronan gave me some insight into him.
If you like erotic romance with a bit of paranormal thrown in, Sway may be for you.

I must say for a love story this book at times was just that. A wonderful love story of two people coming together and Ronan finally being able to be with a women and allow himself to have emotions towards Evening was good. Though in the middle of the story it took a tragedy for him to really come to this conclusion was a little much. The two main problems I had with this book was the length and the constant time in seconds. I do know the last part was supposed to go along with his character but at times this was just annoying. It also felt like this book was never going to end and it took me a while to read it putting it down and then picking it back up again. I did like the characters in the book. I really did know this was a long read, but did not know that it was as long as it was. I almost did not finish it. I always try to stick it out and bare through it. There has to be some really good parts in this read. That is what I usually tell myself. There was a lot of rambling and about two pages worth to describe that she is confused or upset. I held out though and the scenes were good. He is insatiable...so is she. She loves him. He is lost and confused and mean. What's new. He is. a lenocite. I really fell asleep a lot through this book. I do mean that literally! I think it could be condensed a lot and make a really good read if done properly. Epilogue was nice.

Thanks to NetGalley and Createspace for the free ARC.

I am giving this book a 3 because I liked the plot and the characters-but geez...leave out some of the description. I can not write-but I think that this book could have been awesome. The story is interesting and different. The characters are likable and unique. This book is quite long and probably could have been shorter. I will try other books by Ms. Savage to see if it is just this book-or truly her writing style. This book is not for everyone-but I say give it a try.

Wow. Very long winded and sometimes page after page to describe moods, etc. I think if we could skim it down to the actual story and not wait forever for the answers on Ronan it'd have been a little it better of a read. I think the latest be story was a little up and down too much but I still enjoyed the book and hopefully a novella if children ever came about

I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I loved it and couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Great story line and very strong characters too. You will love reading Ronan and Eve's story. I love the detail to the scenes they have.
