From the very beginning of the book, I could tell that I was about to get an "up close & personal view" of some deep rooted issues. Though every character was different in a sense; they all had their own "brokenness". How each person decides to identify their problems and deal with them is what's important. Even if a possible solution doesn't seem feasible at the time, it takes a big person to find out for him/herself.
I give this book an A+...........
Main characters Jackie, Alaina and Lacey are best friends; well not really. Jackie is best friends w/ Alaina & Lacey but they tolerate ea other based on their relationship w/ Jackie. Each of them prove to be strong, intelligent, ambitious, strong willed women who work hard to get where they are in life. Unfortunately ea of them has been "broken" a time or two in their lives. No matter how tough things became, they are always there for one another. Reminds me of a sisterhood...... Like most women, sometimes there were challenges within their relationship, but overall there was an abundance of love & support. Each of them experienced some family issues; but the ultimate burden was their relationships w/ men. I was happy to learn that they decided to step outside the box to seek solace for themselves. Each woman proved to be stubborn at times, but that didn't prevent them from pushing on.
There are also some strong male characters in the book, but I'll allow you the pleasure of reading about them (smile). Without giving away vital details of the book, I would like to add that there is ALWAYS a lesson to be learned. If its from healing from your own broken experiences or those of others. Take the necessary steps to heal from your brokenness so you can be an asset to others who may be broken.
Remember........ being "broken" can mean something different for all of us, but we can definitely relate to the suffering of another. Take the time to read this awesome book and see for yourself.
