Rate this book
My name is Harrison James Philips, and the secret’s finally out.

No longer do I need to hide behind a false identity to get to know the son I never knew I had. I am determined to see that the child I fathered 16 years ago – the son that was given away without my consent–will get a better future. But I have to make sure to deal with every obstacle in my way – even if one of them is the woman who makes me feel things I honestly thought I would never feel again.

My name is Penelope Monroe, and I will fight tooth and claw to make protect my only remaining family.

This man, this... this liar thinks he can just waltz into our already-broken lives and then tear it apart even further. I hate him with a passion, and I will do everything in my power to shield TJ from a father who was never there for him when he was needed the most. I loathe him with every fiber of my being… so why am I drawn to him like a moth to the flame?

This is a review of all 3 books in the series. So bare with me. I'll try not to give anything away, although I don't know where book 1 ends and the others began being that I read them in an anthology.

Harrison is working for the family business he was forced into after his father dies. Working in business was never his calling, but he had to do this in order to take care of his mother and sister, and try to keep his brother out of trouble.

It starts with a harried secret, one that I didn't see coming. Being the person Harrison is, he needed to figure out how to make the right choice for himself while living and working for his other responsibilities. He moves from Oregon to Texas to determine to right the wrongs done to him, and he meets Penelope- the main person standing in the way of correcting his past.

Penelope and her little brother JT were together and struggling to keep their lives together. Their parents passed away three years prior, which is when she came home to Texas to make a life for her and JT. Of course this wasn't the life she wanted nor dreamed about, but she was making the best of the cards dealt to her.

This book had secrets and lies and love all rolled into one. I have really adjusted to this author, and the writing itself is very good. I wish the ending wasn't rushed., that's my only issue with this book. Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
