Quiet, reserved and kind Fiona never puts herself in the middle of things at the Broken J Ranch, at least not until the larger than life Hank Ballard arrives. Suddenly she’s in the thick of it as the weary builder steps in to her life in a big way. Strangely drawn to his son, Fiona soon finds herself deeply attracted to the man himself.
Hank Ballard, worn down after trying to eke out a living in the big city while single handedly raising his small son, is shocked to discover that no one seemed to be expecting him at the one place he had been assured would be a safe haven for himself and his boy. Arriving early in the middle of a snow flurry he discovers that only one person seems to be willing or able to welcome him to the big ranch and Fiona’s kindness to both him and his son works its way in to his tired, world weary heart.
But will miscommunication, false expectations and a lack of understanding of the workings of the heart keep them apart?

What a wonderful and fun series written by Danni Roan. I was not familiar with her writing before last week, but I can't get enough of it now. What an ability for making a setting come to life. Danni will take you on a unforgettable journey. I fell in love with the James family. This book and series shows us you do not have to be blood kin to be a part of a family. A great and fun read.

This series shows ranching at it's best back in the day. Men work hard and build something that can be left for generations to come.
Six daughters, makes a man wonder where they will find suitable, hard working husbands to keep the ranch running steady into the future.
Hank arrives sent by one of the women's uncles, and it is the rancher's hope that he will be smitten with the second eldest daughter. However fate has other plans for Hank and his young son Eric. Fiona the third daughter sparks their interest and things soar with a little help from her older sister. You will definitely enjoy this book as much as I did.

A sweet clean Western Romance in which daughter Fiona is immediately smitten with the new, giant of a man, ranch hand and his elfin son Eric when they arrive at the Broken J. Eric decides since he's too young to marry Fiona his dad needs too, cause he want Fiona for his ma. The course of Tue love never does run smooth, but this story gets some extra twists through misunderstanding over which sister Hank is trying to win and will leave you smiling at Eric's antics. Shows how God's put in the right place at the right time.

Open your heart

Well, knowing this is the second book in the series, and what the package means, you would think we are looking for the gift for daughter number 2, Meg. Which is what everyone thought, when Hank Ballard showed up with his young son Erik. He is a huge man, and Fiona is the first person he sees on the Broken J Ranch, and a fine sight she is. Boy she is thinking the same about him. Unwrapping this package is going to take a lot of work. Loving the story, behind the story.

Hank and Fiona

Hank an his young son, Eric arrive in their big red wagon pulled by his matched pair of Clydesdale horses. They were arriving ahead of schedule so not expected yet, they were welcomed. Fiona was the third daughter of the ranches owner. It was winter now and the snow had begun to fall. This is abused up love story with some unexpected results, but a happy ending. You will enjoy the story.

Fiona hearing wagon wheels coming, and knew they weren’t expecting any delivers. Seeing two huge horses as well as the man driving them, picking a small tow headed boy before going to the house. They bonded immediately the little boy and her, wishing his dad would marry so he would have a ma. A beautiful heart warming story once again by the author, along with knowing more about the family and what is taking place on the ranch.

Who's marrying who

When his eyes first meet hers he just knows she is the one to be his sons new ma.
She was in awe of the giant horses, wagon and man. It was the little boy that stole her heart.
Great characters with strong storyline with a ending you'll love

Interesting concept of a makeshift family that keeps expanding. Story would have been ranked higher if so many punctuation, grammar and spelling errors weren't present. Readers deserve stories that have been at least proofread.

Another wonderful story about The Cattleman's daughters. Two down and four more to go. This was as good as the first. A Christian story with all kind of love-family,friends and man with wife.

A mix up

Plans do not always come together the way you think they will. While Meg pushed on to Hank's, Hank's is falling in love with Fiona. What a crazy web is weaved. Josh with the help of his brothers and the hands are trying to find someone for each of his daughters. Danni Roan writes in such detail you feel like you are there. Each story ends with the letter for the next surprise "package". Love it.

Sweet Story

This was a good story. The characters, though numerous, were interesting. The poor proofreading created a lot of distraction. If that was remedied,I would have liked it more.

A beautiful story about one daughter of the owner of the Broken J Ranch who falls in love with the new handy man and his son, although everybody thinks that this man should become the husband of her older sister, but love doesn't always follow the rules or expectations.
