Terrible book. Sorry to hurt your feelings, Terry, but the writing is horrible. It sounds like it is written by a middle school student. I deleted this from my Kindle after the 3rd chapter. I hate giving up on a book, but this one is so very poorly written, I just couldn't stomach another page of it.

This book spoke to me about sustained friendship. Starting as young adults the women stay in touch through all happiness and hardships. How wonderful to have that support!
This book is for all females, but it's especially for those who grew up in the 1970s. I'm older than that but so enjoyed this book.

Gave up. I was just not interested after 30 %. Decided to go back to it and enjoyed it. About 8 young girls who meet in college and meet once a year for ten years. They miss the next 10years but then get together when one dies. They continually meet for the next 30 years. Very realistic.

Time trials memories of life
What I most enjoyed about the book was that it occurred at the same time that I was going to college so I could relate to the various phases these women went through. Sometimes they seemed a little over the top or artificial. It was fun to read though

Host a logic to this Baby Boomer!
The author caught my attention with the main characters graduating high school in 1972 which is the same year I did. It was a nostalgic trip through the decades as the women's lives paralleled my own while the author touched upon current events of each decade, popular singers, bands, and songs.
It took awhile to get the eight characters straight, and, evidently the author had a little trouble at times as she would nickname one woman as Touretts, but it was, in fact, another woman who swore all of the time.
She also had me completely baffled when she said the girls were in the fifth grade when JFK was assassinated. I graduated much earlier than most of my classmates, and I was only 8 when JFK died. This means I was in he third grade, which most likely should have had them in the second grade, third at the latest. Discrepancies like this bother me, but there weren't so many that turned me off of the book. It was still a good read!

Being a baby boomer myself, I had such fun reading this book. It brought back memories of a time in my life when there was a simplicity and idealism that felt so good to tap into again. I related to the Bad Ass girls on many levels and had a group just like this during my high school and college days.
As I read through the story that covered so many years, it really made me appreciate the circle of life - we each have our own journey which has so many moments. Whether it's laughter or tears, clarity or confusion or just plain fun - it's a great ride and one that Terry Lee wonderfully illustrates through her characters.
I really took my time reading this book because I so enjoyed being brought into the wonderful world sisterhood.

This is a fun, if somewhat lightweight story of 8 women in Texas who bonded in college at Sam Houston University. Over the years they grew apart, but then came back together when one of their number dies of cancer, and then continued to meet periodically. Each time period is accompanied by a cultural history of what was important and popular in that time period, as well as the development stages according to Erikson in which the women are currently. Because they grew up in the same era as I did, that was a fun flashback. I wanted to love it for that reason, but it just didn´t have enough depth to it for that. Still, I did enjoy it, just thought it could have been better.

Could not finish
I am a big fan of friendship books. This one however kept putting me to sleep. The characters were unlikable and really lacked the ability to keep me interested. I ha e good friends from my college days that I have kept up with for 50 years and we ha e much more interesting lives. Don't waste your time or money on this one. I got it free. So it was worth the money.

You've got a friend
This was a different sort of book. I liked it, it was just unusual. There was no real plot - it was just the story of these 8 girls who were best friends and how that evolved and changed over the years. It was difficult, sometimes, to keep their characteristics straight, , but it was sweet that they were all so very different. I'm not sure if I would like another book like this, but this one was pretty good.

An enduring friendship story that is unfortunately interspersed with current events being listed, as if copied from a yearly compendium, and poorly edited. The story itself was fine, but the reader needs more credit to know the history behind the eras in the book (1950's on). The epilogue is rather unfortunate as well in this regard.
Again, poor editing. Malaprops did not help either.

Great character study
Very interesting and endearing story of eight women who met in college and remained fast friends throughout their lives. Being of that age group, I really related to these women and understand the way life changes through various stages of life. I enjoyed this book very much and found the characters well-written and endearing. I recommend this book.

Memories are made this...
I enjoyed this book because it brought back so many memories. Character development could have been better, but I think since their were so many BAGs it was difficult to develop all the women. I would like to read more from this author, she has a good writing style.

Although I enjoyed the character development and the central story, the authors use of conversational style and report of history with added college notes on Erick Ericssons stages of development annoyed me. The sentence I just wrote annoys me too. I don't like run on sentences, but the the author used those as well. I plan on passing by future books by this author.

The past relived
Being a pre- boomer by one year, this story brought back a lot of what I lived through. I really liked the history that is braided into the story. Also, I am from Texas and as I read it, I recognized and knew exactly what Terry was discribing.
Good read. I would recommend it to several of my friends who are also pre-boomers and boomers.

If you are blessed enough to have friends you've had since childhood as do I then this book will certainly speak to you. I grew up with my two best friends in the same era as the women in this book. I can relate to so much. If you don't have life long friends you can relive your life vicariously through these wonderful but flawed fictional characters. Definitely a breath of fresh air.

Great storytelling
I really enjoyed the vast differences in the personalities of the women and the lives they led. The book really held my interest and was really a well written, fun and thoughtful read.

A great beach read
If you love Dorthea Benton Frank. Then you need to grab this book. Beaches, friendships throughout the years. Loved every character. Could have used some fleshing out of everyone, but, understood it was a quick read.

This book is THE GROUP / BIG CHILL mashup. Six girls meet during their freshman year in college and become best friends. Unfortunately, this book wasn't in the same class as THE GROUP and THE BIG CHILL (pun intended). I got it for 99 cents from Book Bub. You get what you pay for.

Friendship
8 very different girls come together in college and form a life long bond. I had a hard time keeping track of all of them until about half way through. The BAG Golden Girls are awesome. Here's to good friends!

Enjoyed the characters, just not spectacular.
Enjoyable characters, story lines. Good summer reading. Easy to relate to time era. Held my attention but would be easy to put the book down and forget that I was reading it.

COULDN'T FINISH
And that's saying a lot. I never don't finish a book. Nothing happens, the characters are not fully developed, too much flipping between people and time at the beginning make it hard to follow. When I read "fell into their perspective beds," I just couldn't keep going.

Lovely story
