What to say about this one... We have an amazing start and conclusion with the middle part that was used a little bit as a filler.
Loved the introduction of the new character and will definitely bring chaos to the story in the next volume and that's what we all are here for right?!
--- Hawk: You'd kill Melodias just because some mysterious voice from a horn said to do it?! Ha! I see how it is. So Melodias isn't your friend? He's nothing to you?! Ban: The Cap'n's my best friend. But if what the Goddesses said is true, then Elaine will come back...! Hawk: And if it's a lie, then you'll have lost your best friend! Do you really think Elaine-chan would be happy to know she'd come back to life at that cost?
This volume is a bit better than the previous one and there were some parts in the manga I liked more compared to the anime. The Kingdom is in ruins, everyone is fighting and Ban attacks Meliodas in order to revive his lover (which makes sense). However, the majority of this book focuses on the fight between everyone versus Hendrickson (a classic one-man army situation in anime). I actually like Hendrickson's character design and powers even though he is weak as a villain (with no clear motives and actions to support them). The ending, though, made me curious about the next volume. I'm thinking it will be the last volume regarding the Kingdom arc.
Okay, Elizabeth. I know you want to do the "noble" thing and go with Hendrickson so that the Sins, specifically Meliodas, won't get hurt. But here's the thing: IF YOU GO WITH HENDRICKSON, HE WILL SACRIFICE YOU SO HE CAN REVIVE THE DEMON RACE. And no, surrendering and then threatening to kill yourself unless he stops does not make this situation better. I know Suzuki's trying to show how self-sacrificing she is, but it doesn't seem courageous considering the circumstances. I know this is going to sound awful, but Elizabeth strikes me as a superficially strong female character; she appears strong based off of action and dialogue, but it comes across as superficial when considering the circumstances of both.
A perfect example? Back in volume 4, when the Sins were fighting Guila in the Necropolis, at one point Elizabeth and Hawks run into King after his encounter with Elaine. Elizabeth and Hawks see King's sacred treasure and try to take it to fight Guila. Sounds fine, right? Shows how motivated she is to try to help her friends, despite not being as strong as her, right? All of this is undone in the following exchange:
King: So you'e saying I should fight with them?
Elizabeth: No King, you should run! But let me borrow your spear!
ARE YOU ACTUALLY KIDDING ME?! In this and the previous volume, King has proven to be one of the best Sins and to have incredible power, even surpassing Ban to an extent. He can wield his sacred treasure with ease, utilize it to it's full potential, AND can use magic. So why would you, someone who up to this point has no fighting experience, can't use offensive magic, and can't even wield his treasure, advise him to RUN AWAY RATHER THAN FIGHT THE PERSON WHO IS CURRENTLY KICKING YOUR FRIENDS' ASSES?! I know this is meant to show how she wants to ensure others safety while disregarding her own, but it comes across as shallow and utterly ridiculous considering the predicament she is in.
*deeeeeep breath* Okay, I'm good now. I just had to get that out of the way because it had been bothering me for a long time now. Anyway, the rest of the volume was great, fights were awesome as usual, Ban is the best and I absolutely love him and will save my rant on him for another review. That's about it, onto the next volume.

The manga that was turned into the anime of the same name, volume 12. This book covers the same material as the rest of episode 21 all of episode 22 and halfway through episode 23.
Things that are different in the book vs the show: Griamore shows up in town before the final battle. He teams up with his father to fight Herdrickson. Not that he changes the fight in any meaningful way, but it happens.
In this part, Meliodas and the other sins go after Hendrickson to try and rescue Elizabeth. The reader finally sees the true about Hendrickson and what happened to him and learns a little bit more about the demon race. It is in this volume, that Elizabeth finally awakes her power in the middle of the battle.
Absolutely love the anime so figured I would give the manga a shot, and boy was I half I did. The manga is, in my opinion, far superior to the already outstanding anime. If you like the anime and story of The Seven Deadly Sins, give the manga a go, you won't be sorry.
So it seems this is almost the volume the first season stopped on, which is more in depth in the manga of course. I liked how the two are so similar although for no reason I felt the manga was for once boring to keep up upon.
Howzer... Hawk... Cinema! Very good volume with good emotional beats. I also like how they're building on something with Elizabeth and Veronica's return. Lots of great action throughout, this is probably the most action packed volume so far.
My only compliant is that the Meliodas-Ban conflict feels quite out of character for Ban and even for Meliodas to entertain it at such a sensitive time.
