It's very rare that I read a book and somewhere along the way it starts to minister to my soul. Tell Me Lies did exactly that and it took me longer to read than it should have because I had to stop and reflect on my own struggle with forgiveness and being able to give it to others and even myself. Michelle Lindo-Rice once again defies how some think the genre of Christian fiction should be written as she deals with some pretty edgy topics and she handles them in a way that the reader does not feel as if they are being preached to.
This book centers around two things: forgiveness and love. Those are two things that most folks have found great joy in as well having problems giving and receiving. At times, love and forgiveness are interchangeable and that is truly the case when reading Sydney's story. Sometimes we must learn the very hard lesson of forgiving those that have done us wrong so we can really see love and then welcome it in our hearts. Lindo-Rice already has some excellent books in her portfolio, but it is my opinion that Tell Me Lies is her best piece of work yet!
DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of Tell Me Lies in exchange for an honest review.
“Forgive as you are forgiven- helps you to move on and frees you up and open you up for more possibilities.”
Michelle Lindo Rice you outdid yourself this tome. I am giving this 5 stars. I was not disappointed. Pastor Noah Charleston is a man of God but has a broken past that will come to light. Oh what a secret! “Love bears all things, endures all things, and hopes all things.” Sydney Richardson, an attorney who has a hard time forgiving people in her life and it's breaking her down. She is hard on anyone that makes a mistake and hurt her in some way. WWJD? Belinda Santiago is Sydney's best friend who's soul and heart are a broken lie. Friendships destroyed because of deceit and past hurt. ?God has a way of putting things into perspective.” Dr. Lance Forbes is Sydney's ex fiance who has childhood pain that could destroy his future. “God works in mysterious ways.” This story captivates my heart like all her other books have done. This story was not predictable and very well written. This story touched my heart and made me set back and think about my life as a Christian. This is her first book that was a little on the edgy side for a Christian fiction but it is a must read. It was a fast paced with thought provoking story-lines that keeps you reading until the end. Powerful story of love and forgiveness. The story and characters were on point and very well developed. The issues in the story were real life situations and issues such as betrayal, past hurts and pain, love, lies, racism, and redemption. Loyalty is the key between the different characters in the book.

This book will challenge everything a believer thinks they know about forgiveness. I was challenged; at one point I was about to shut my kindle off because it stepped on my toes, but it was as if God was saying to me you really don't know what true forgiveness is until you have to forgive the ultimate betrayal or betrayals. I had to keep reading. The things Noah would say to challenge Sydney, Lance and others to be better people, be their best for Christ was so profound. I would say read with caution, not because it is a bad story, no it is the exact opposite, it is magnificent and it will push you out of your comfort zone to be the best for Christ. Forgiveness is the key to free you from so many hurts and pains and forgiveness will open up so many blessings.
I can honestly say, this story made me feel all kinds of emotions. Sydney got on my nerves most of the time becaus of her unforgiveness issues. It was like a mirror for me and caused me to questions my issues. Noah was hot and a real man of God. A man of God with a past that could truly compromise his relationship with Sydney and others if he is to be a Pastor of a church. The whole story, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. And when it dropped, it went BOOM! What do you do when trust is hard for you, but the people closes to you lie or keep things from you? In a lot of ways, I don't blame Sydney for the things she said or did in the story, but I always root for love. So read it and see if Sydney and Noah survive the lies.
Awesome job Michelle!!! Sydney Richardson is left at the altar by her fiancé Lance. Lance runs away with one of Sydney’s friends. Sydney has given up on love. Rev. Sydney’s best friend Belinda is in love with Lance. Awesome, awesome and awesome!!! A must read!!! You will love this book!!!
WOW WOW Michelle Lindo- Rice, Tell me Lies was a perfect name for this book. You did an outstanding job, this was a very good read.
This book covered a lot of issues that go on everyday in relationships, lies, betrayal, lack of communication and most of all no faith in God.
The author also touched on love at first sight, loyalty to others instead of your own happiness, racists and hatred. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the second installment . I highly recommend this book.

Michelle Lindo-Rice’s novel Tell Me Lies (Nothing But the Truth Book 1) centers around a lot of themes. Sydney Richardson, though she professes to love the lord, has a major problem that she would not face. Then, she meets Noah Charleston. There was something different about Noah and Sydney found herself being drawn to him. Noah turned out to be a Pastor who had just been hired to minister at her church. Before he became a pastor, Noah’s life was filled with trauma and pain. After meeting Sydney, he believed that God created her just for him. But before he could build a life with her, Noah had to confess his past.
Lindo-Rice packs a lot into this novel that will have readers confessing. Tell me Lies shows what happens when people refuse to be honest with each other and face their choices. The secondary characters, who you will want to know more about, brings more tension to the story – fear, trust, redemption, racism, secrets, forgiveness, friendship, family, and love. This is the first book I have read by Lindo-Rice and I patiently wait for the next.
Wow! Michelle Lindo Rice you have done it again. You have written another book that captivated my imagination and has drawn me into your book. I love the characters you chose for your book. Noah was an interesting character in this book.He had a rough start with losing his parents and then hanging with the wrong crowd which landed him in trouble but he grew into a very intelligent, caring and understandable person. I will add patience as he needed that with Sydney. His Gramps stepped in and guided him onto the right path. Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! What a stubborn woman! I loved her too. Michelle I loved how her character developed and how you highlighted forgiveness throughout the book. For some people it is easy to forgive but for others it is a lot harder. Sydney did not find it easy. I could go on talking about this book but I won't. If you what to know about Noah and Sydney then go and buy this book. I strongly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. I was not.
I have stopped and started this review about 3 times. It's so much I want to say but couldn't find the right words or without giving the story away. This is story of forgiveness. This book will make you think and being that it's January 1st it was just what some of us ok me needed. This is the story of Sydney a no nonsense lawyer who has issues with forgiveness. Can you forgive and forget. It's also the story of Noah a cool laidback preacher who has some secrets in his past that he,hopes Sydney can forgive him for. This book has it all from action, suspense, to oh my god to oh no she didn't moments. Will Sydney be able to forgive all to get her happily ever after? Well you just have to read to find out. This was another five star read from Michelle lindo-rice and once you read it you will see why.
Author Michelle Lindo-Rice has done it once again! Tell Me Lies is a well-written book that shows how lies can destroy people, relationships, and lives. It also shows how forgiveness has awesome healing powers. One of the things that I love about this author is that even though her books are written for entertainment, there is always a lesson to be learned, a message to be taught, and best of all, they always make you think, long after you've turned the very last page. Her books teach, without being over the top, in your face, "you'd better do this, or else." The characters are either reminiscent of yourself, or people that you actually know, going through some very real situations, that you can apply in everyday life. The books always have a message, that you can incorporate into life as well. I would definitely recommend not only this book, but any of her other books as well.
WOW!!!! I don't want to spoil it but this book was so good! Please read this book you will NOT be disappointed! I received an advanced copy of this book to review and I absolutely loved it. For one this author has an amazing talent for describing. You will be able to picture everything in your head and relate to every smell and taste. I am an English teacher and aspiring writer and that just really stood out to me. This woman has a way with words! Second, This book will challenge you in more ways than one and it will have you thinking about issues you have to deal with yourself! I have not been disappointed by anything I have read by this author and this book continues that. Definitely add this to your 2016 reading list or book club list!
Michelle Lindo-Rice has done it again, she made me cry(Lol). This book is certainly a story of forgiveness and most of all love. Sydney and Noah meet and it's love at first sight, but there are a few problems they have to sort out. Sydney has a problem with forgiveness and Noah has a secret about his past that could destroy their relationship. Once I started reading I did not want to put this book down, it is very well written and not predictable at all. You will not be disappointed with this read, so on January 12, 2016 one click. My copy of this book was provided by the author for advanced review.
As I read over other reviews, I was admittedly happy to see that I was not the only reader whose toes were stomped on. Michelle Lindo Rice delivers a powerful message on what it truly means to forgive. We, as Christians, often feel we have it all together and are quick to tell others to "forgive them", that is until we are forced to walk in that persons shoes. This book made me stand up and reevaluate myself. Yeah, I had to go there and ask for forgiveness of God for all those that I had not truly forgiven myself. Lip service doesn't cut it. Thank you Michelle, for giving us a great love story while teaching us the true meaning of forgiveness.
I am amazed once again!! I was rooting for these characters so much!! I was like Sydney honey can you please get your life!! Noah is so strong and godly I was screaming inside tell her, please just tell her!! I felt like I knew them all. Belinda and Lance's situation happens more than we know. God wins every time. If He's pushing, you gotta listen. Forgiveness is powerful but it can hold us back from so many things if we let it. I'm making my own list now. God bless you Michelle Lindo Rice, you've knocked it out of the park again!!
This book left me examining my heart's posture, and how I view forgiveness. How does one move forward beyond past trauma, mental anguish, and letting go of the hurt prison of your past, while embracing an ever uncertain future. Each character had a hidden past. Unspeakable histories with one another, and betrayals, that would shatter, fragment, and test even the strongest friendships. An excellent and redemptive read. A must read fictional jewel for anyone struggling with the past.
Michelle Lindo-Rice has done it again. Brace yourself for a little self evaluation on forgiveness. We always say what we would do if we were in a situation but we don't honestly know until we are actually in that situation. If you love a good story with a great page count then this is for you. This had me laughing out loud literally and a little misty eyed at points. This is a 5 star read.
This was an awesome heartfelt story of forgiveness and the power of love. Sydney always had a hard time with forgiveness but she had to learn how to forgive in different situations while falling in love with Noah, the new pastor of her old church. All of the characters in this story have a mighty testimony and I loved it.
Loved this story of how important to always keep it 100% by telling the whole truth and to obtain and maintain a forgiving heart which was so very hard for Sydney. I could actually feel Noah's and Sydney pains during the time he was in the hospital. He should have know how she would respond after how she treated her mom and Belinda. This is an excellent read for any book club. Thank Michelle!
This was my first time reading a book by this author and I loved it. This book dealt with the issue of forgiveness and the high standards that we place on others and how this affects our relationships. It was a great story of redemption and I found myself doing a lot of self-examination. On the lighter side, I loved the story of Sydney and Noah! I can't wait for the next installment.
Tell Me Lies is a really good read. Ms. Lindo-Rice does an excellent job of detailing how her characters became who they are all while keeping an element of suspense that makes you want to hurry up and get to the end. I can't wait for the next book.
AWESOME.... FORGIVENESS. . Michelle thank you for this lesson... something that I really needed to hear.... I give this message 5 stars...2 thumbs up .... and a movie should definitely follow
