If you’re looking for the perfect holiday read, with lots of romance and laugh out loud comedy, then curl up with the latest entry in the Dartmouth Diaries...
It’s not often that a fledgling career in Event Management kicks off with the wedding of a Hollywood superstar. Of course the fact that this particular Hollywood star is marrying her best friend might have had something to do with the fact that former art gallery owner, Kit Davies landed the job. That, and the fact that she was about to become homeless and penniless…
But organizing her friend Victory’s big fat Hollywood wedding in the small yachting haven of Dartmouth without alerting the media is not for the faint hearted, and Kit very quickly realizes that she’s way out of her depth - especially as the bride to be has a secret of her own that is rapidly changing her disposition from a fairy tale Cinderella to a would-be Bridezilla.
And then there are the ongoing machinations of Victory’s father, who not only has his own agenda, but has decades of experience in the art of being slippery and evasive...
Inviting Hollywood to Dartmouth might actually be the least of Kit’s worries…
All For Victory is the perfect laugh-out-loud, feel good book for fans of funny love stories, especially quirky British Romantic Comedies.
Beverley spent 8 years teaching English as a Foreign Language to International Military Students in Britannia Royal Naval College, the Royal Navy’s premier officer training establishment in the UK. She says that in the whole 8 years there was never a dull moment and many of her wonderful experiences at the College were not only memorable but were most definitely 'the stuff of fiction.' Her debut novel An Officer And A Gentleman Wanted is very loosely based on her adventures at the College.
Beverley particularly enjoys writing books that make people laugh and currently she has two series of Romantic Comedies, both contemporary and historical, as well as a humorous cosy mystery series under her belt.
She lives with her husband in an apartment overlooking the sea on the beautiful English Riviera. Between them they have 3 adult children and two gorgeous grandchildren plus a menagerie of animals including 5 dogs - 3 Romanian rescues of indeterminate breed called Florence, Trixie, and Lizzie, a neurotic 'Chorkie' named Pepé and a 'Chichon" named Dotty who was the inspiration for Dotty in The Dartmouth Diaries.
Noah and Tory are engaged and want to marry as soon as possible. Thank goodness that Kit has just become an event planner! As usual, nothing is easy, the wedding being secret and the guest list packed with many of Noah's Hollywood friends, adding to the complications. Admiral, unfortunately has a promise from long ago up his sleeve that could promise the absolute demise of a perfect day. Laugh out loud funny and promising to keep you glued to the page, Beverly Watts continues to work her magic at producing an enchanting concoction of witty situations and tear filled hiccups to keep the reader thoroughly engrossed to the end. Books are best if read as a series so you don't muss out on any of the juicy tidbits!
I am thoroughly enjoying the Victory books. I was hooked from the first chapter of the first book and now I’m 3 books down I still want to read more. Just when you think you know what’s coming there’s a twist, and well it’s just so funny in places too. It’s a great holiday read and I can’t wait to read the next book. In fact I’m on my way to Amazon now to purchase it.
Absolutely brilliant, if I could give this book more than five stars , I assuredly would. Please, if you are going to listen or book read this book, make sure that you read the others in order. I laughed out loud a great deal, no spoilers but best moment has to be the flying dog poo, shall say no more, but then I do have a warped sense of humour. Beverley Watts at her very best. I highly recommend this book and it's predecessors.
I am so enjoying this series and very glad that I read the three books in order. This author has an ability to take a slightly humorous situation that might make me smile into one that causes belly laughs. Really, her descriptions are so often hilarious! Read these books and this author!
The story has lots of interesting. Turns of events that keep a reader interested. While some of the solutions to their problems seem somewhat predictable,, other revelations are unexpected and surprising happily, the whole thing ends with love and happiness for everyone.
The banter and chaos are lol funny, you laugh so hard your eyes tear. But more than that you embrace people that are real. We all know someone similar to these characters. They are endearing. There is always a crisis and the ones in this book are unique and surprising.
This third book does not disappoint. Lots of heart stopping moments as well as tears of joy and full blown laughter. A heartwarming brilliant read and I cannot wait to read the next chapter. Highly recommended!
The third title in the Dartford Diaries series. With the impending nuptials growing ever closer, once again Admiral Shackleton’s previous antics are aired and in danger of putting a spanner in the works.
The descriptions of places and of the characters makes you almost feel to be there watching events unfold. A rather complicated plot which resolves itself perfectly as the story unfolds. I look forward to the next book.
This series of books are responsible for turning me into an insomniac! I go to bed intending to just read for half an hour and 2 hours later…I love the characters, storylines and humour but in all honesty they should come with a health warning!
I loved this book it’s full of laughter and surprises and the style of writing has you lose in a fantastic read you can really get inside the story and characters as if your actually there can’t wait to start the next book 💕
Again Beverley out did herself. I laughed and was sad and absolutely adore these books. Just a shame they are finished. Can’t wait for her next books. Thank you for these amazing books that lifted my spirit when I needed it
Lots of laughs, sweet romance (now with a new couple) and even a bit of mystery. So far, I'm really enjoying this series (and I believe I'm going to start writing down some of the Admiral's unique expressions, they're priceless).
I am enjoying this series immensely Beverley Watts is such a clever writer with an amazing sense of humour. This book, especially, has been laugh out loud. Looking forward to the next one.
Beverly Watts has done it again, written another easy reading, funny romance. This time it’s Kit, Victory’s best friend telling the story and meeting the fearsome Jason. Great series.
Enjoyable fun from the Captain to young love. The Captain has to un-invite his farting old friend and Victoria must join in the fun. Great humour for all.
Another good book in the series, nice to see all the character development from the first book through this series. As always the admiral provides the humour.
