Avery Brookes seems to have it all. She's popular, smart, and gorgeous. Everyone at Westbrook High wants to be her because she's as close to perfect as it gets. Or so it seems. . . .

Avery is Ivy-league bound, but only if she lands the scholarship she has her eye on. Everything is on track until she gets her first bad grade. Without an A in this class, she can kiss that scholarship goodbye.

An unexpected extra credit opportunity might help her land the A she so desperately needs. That is, if she can keep her schoolgirl-crush fantasies in check. After all, she’ll be working with Westbrook's hottest male teacher, Mr. Channing. With him barely out of college, and Avery on the way, it’s easy for her to dismiss their small age gap. Will she be able to keep their relationship strictly professional?

Kyle Patterson swears that his player ways are a thing of the past. He’s a sophomore in college now. He wants to be in a committed relationship with Avery Brookes, his sister’s best friend, but she isn’t convinced of his transformation. What does he need to do to prove that he’s serious? Will Kyle be able to capture Avery’s heart before someone else claims it?

I'm a mom, who spends most of my free time reading or imagining the next story. I live with my husband, daughter, and son in St. Louis, MO, home of our beloved Cardinals. I'm also a shoe designer with a wandering imagination, and emotions that can only be tamed through writing.

At heart, I'm really just a seventeen-year-old girl, which is why I enjoy writing YA and NA fiction.
There is something magical about that age. It's the only time in your life when you're caught between childhood and adulthood. Nothing is set. You're still defining yourself, and since you have your whole life ahead of you, anything seems possible. You can be whatever or whomever you want.

When I graduated from high school, my parents wanted me to become a writer. So, I went to college and became an artist. Yes, I was that teenager. I showed them, but I guess the joke is on me because here I am, writing. If only I could tell my teenage self that I didn't have to choose.

Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review, thank you to the publisher

FINALLY!!!! WE FINALLY GET TO AVERY'S AND KYLE EPIC TALE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!!!!!

I was forever waiting for this book and then I took forever reading it...why you say? I can't really answer that question because ...erm...I don't quite know the answer *runs and hides*

*sighs* because I don't quite know how I feel about Laila and Trevor's relationship. And it only made it harder for me to read about Sam. I really loved Sam and still do. I was so devastated when she chose Trevor over Sam and sometimes I feel like Laila is oblivious. Anyways. I am getting a bit carried with Laila's story instead of Avery...

Avery is Perfect, she is literally. That's what everyone perceives her to be, unknown to them Avery finds it really hard to live up to their expectations and constantly feels pressured. Avery is very sweet, loyal and hardworking. When I read the amount of commitments she has dedicated herself too, I am really in awe of her (I feel like I need to do something to help the community too but reading is hardwork). Kyle is such a sweetheart, I really would love to have a boy friend like him. Marry me instead? *dreamy eyes*

One thing I never expected this storyline to include is a love triangle, I mean having such strong feelings for Kyle and Conor who by the way is Laila's teacher. YES you heard right she also finds herself having feelings for Conor too. What a mess! What have you gotten yourself in to Avery? Although I can't blame her, but she misinterprets everything with Kyle and fails to see how he is trying to change for her, it's not easy girl. It's the same situation with Kyle he misinterprets Avery and well everything basically is a whole mess and I have a bad feeling about this!

ARGHHH!!! When is the next book going to release? Dying to know who Avery ends up with!

AVERY and KYLE!!!!

Okay, so I just finished the book and my emotions are in a jumble right now but let me begin with this. I already know that there's a book about Avery and Kyle as the author told me but somehow it must have slipped off my mind. When I found the book on Goodreads with the date to be published at a later month, I was jumping (in my head) up and down as I read the blurb. While reading Laila's story, I was a bit annoyed with Avery but after seeing the tension between her and Kyle I know that is a story in the making and what I wouldn't do to read it.

I wish I wrote my thoughts whilst I'm reading the book. It's hard to remember all those parts after reading that ending.

Again, I felt conflicted while reading this book. It feels like it's Sam-Laila-Trevor all over again. So infuriating and annoying. She can't make her own mind. He can't make up his mind. Making me confused and I can't make up my mind too.

I'm really giddy and there's something I want to tell but I don't know if it'll come as a spoiler. Anyway, like I said above there's a love triangle or something. There's this guy that Avery is crushing on. She's torn between this guy and Kyle. At the first part of the book I was Team Kyle but then this guy (sigh!) comes and I feel myself bending to his side. I know that she'll end up with Kyle but wouldn't it be bad to have a bit of fun with this guy. Just to explore the great what if? But my loyalty is to Kyle. And then there's this ending.

Seriously? What was that?

I'm all kind of gooey for Avery and shocked at Kyle.

Kyle, what were you thinking? No! Just no.

Sam, Laila and Trevor are in the book and I'm a bit lost at the timeline. I don't know if the camping trip happened already in the first 3 books or not. So to those who had read Laila's story, we all know how that ended. I'm surprised at myself to feel something for Sam. While reading this book, Sam is lonely and depressed and I feel sorry for him. It makes my heart want to yell, "Go Sam and be with her" but my mind is saying "You made your choice so you can't be back on Team Sam because he's lonely. It's his own fault." Now I understand what Laila and Avery are feeling. Laila liked Sam for years but he did something bad and she turn to Trevor who is good for her.

Ugh! The way Laila is thinking makes me scared because of the possibility that she might go back to Sam. Trevor is her boyfriend but she doesn't love him instead, she love Sam. How cray cray is that?

Okay, last one. When I read the last chapter and I found the acknowledgments page, I immediately said, "No, there's a missing page." It can't end that way (sobs to the floor). But fear not, because there are two bonus chapters (one in Avery's POV and one in Kyle's POV) for the next book.

Is the part 2 ready? I want to read it now!

DANG! This book was pretty darn enjoyable, even more so than Laura's past books. This one had more humor, character development, and was all around an even better start to a series. The plot had more spice, the writing was addictive, and I could not put this book down. Now lets get into the real, coherent review.

CHARACTERS
1) Avery was such an amazing character. I personally adored her in the past series, so her having her own story was definitely a blast to read. She had so much spunk, and I LOVED her sense of humor. Sure she was a little stupid at times, but she is a teen. She was very really, and very well developed, and I liked her character even more than Laila's character.
2) Mr. Channing guys, Mr. Channing.
Okay, so I am not saying I approve, but you can't deny he is a freaking gorgeous specimen of a human being. ( At lease how I pictured) He seemed so sweet, and I got the Ezra Fitz vibe from him. He reminded me of Ezra Fitz, which is a compliment. I loved how complex his character is, and I liked him more than Kyle as a character, because he was funny, kind, helpful, and just freaking drop dead gorgeous.
3) Kyle, I hate you, but I love you. ( Cue song)
It's not that I despise Kyle, because I actually ship him and Avery, but he also makes me want to throw a brick at his face because he can act like such an idiot. He is cute, funny, but also just a real ditz sometimes. He makes such destructive decisions, and doesn't understand how a relationship goes, he comes off as a bit of a pervert, but he also has such a big heart and I want to give him a hug.

THE PLOT

I personally think the plot is very similar to the other series surrounding Laila, but did I care? No, because it feels like such a different book from that one. I don't know why, the tone just feels different. This one has a sort of innocent, sweet vibe.

THE ROMANCE

I personally think this book doesn't need a warning, because it really isn't sexually explicit. There is one scene where you are led to believe a couple had sex, but really it wasn't that bad at all.
Also, who do I ship? I DO NOT APPROVE OF TEACHER STUDENT RELATIONSHIPS, but Mr. Channing is also a gift, and I kind of ship him and Avery, but it feels so wrong! I DON'T WANT TO LIKE THEM, BUT I DO BECAUSE I AM MESSED UP!
I think Kyle and Avery would be cute, but I don't want Kyle to hurt Avery, because he could act so much like an idiot, as to where I felt so bad for Avery and I wanted to be right there with her to comfort her.

FINAL THOUGHTS
- Loved seeing Trever and Laila
-ASFHJSDKJFDSJ Fangirl attack
-4 out of five stars

I’m not sure how to describe all the deliciousness that was in this book. Dare I say it was better than Laila’s love triangle story. YES, yes it was!
Avery Books is a beautiful, smart 17 year old senior and captain of the cheerleading squad. Also Laila’s best-friend. Avery needs to keep up her grades in hopes to get a full scholarship. Unfortunately she got a really bad grade on an essay she wrote. This will bring down her overall grade average, pushing that scholarship a little out of reach. This of course sends Avery into panic. Her only hope at recovering will be to get extra credit becoming a TA. (Teacher’s Assistant) Only all the TA positions are filled in her school. As luck would have it, the extremely handsome yet totally off limits teacher, Mr. Channing, has a plan to help Avery. She can be his TA at the local college university two nights a week. Also, he’ll help her improve her writing skills.
There’s a chemistry between the Avery and Connor (Mr. Channing) that can’t be denied. The lines between teacher & student are starting to blur. A friendship forms, a dangerous attraction blossoms.
Now the part about Kyle Patterson, yes there’s more! haha
Kyle has been Avery’s love interest she before she can remember. They all grew up together, Kyle, his sister Laila, Avery, and Sam. Aves has always had a thing for Kyle but he was a bit of a man whore. Going from one girl to the next without a blink. Still Avery had hopes that one day he’d mature and see her as The One.
Now that Kyle is no longer with his girlfriend Georgia, he is pursuing Avery. Aves is not really convinced he has grown out of his player ways.
When she’s not thinking about Kyle, Avery is daydreaming about Connor.

Debbie's Review 3.5 STARS

This is a spin off series but it can be read as a standalone. I really loved the first series by Author Laura Clark and was excited that she did a spin off about Avery and Kyle who were secondary characters in the first series.

The book starts off really well and let me tell you I am not a happy camper with how the author ended the book. I hope the next book will be released soon because I need to know what happens. I loved the chemistry between Avery and Kyle and the flirty texting they did. So we have a love triangle times two in this book. My only issue with this book is I felt some parts were a retell of the last series and focused too much on Sam and Laila. I also felt some parts were drawn out and the book was a little to slow paced at times for me.

Loved the plot twist that was tossed in at the end and I am really curious as to whom Avery is going to choose. I have a love/hate relationship with Kyle and there is something about Connor that rubs me the wrong way too. Lets not forget about Georgia. I am not a big fan of her and Avery by the end of the book had me so angry I would of loved to have gotten my hands on her and smacked some sense into her. Both of the main characters need to man up and stop running away and admit what they are feeling. Sometimes the miscommunication between them had me seeing red. My mind is turning with all the possibilities as to what is going to happen next. A good start to a series that I see will have me wanting to smash my kindle.

****ARC given for honest review*****

Laura Clark has written another winner here with Playlist!!!

We continue our journey with the Westbrook crew yet now we focus more on Averys relationships this book!!

I love that we still get to talk about Maddox and Laila's relationship while Avery finds a new fixation and still struggles with her feelings for Kyle.

I feel sooo sorry for Sam in this book as he struggles with seeing Laila with someone else ... But my heart soars for Trevor and Laila in their newfound relationship!

The new hot teacher "Conner" and Kyle and Avery triangle have my head buzzing though because I adore Kyle but Conner ... Nothing's hotter than a sexy professor!!!

I love the drama, the romance, the teenage angst in this book ... I can't get enough of this series!

If your looking for a series that will pull you in and characters that will steal your heart ... The Westbrook series is it!!!

Bring on Book 5!!!

So...I was totally wrong on where this story was headed. I was definitely caught off guard! When the last book ended, I was sure I knew what was going to happen. Not. Even. Close. This story had some twists and turns that I had no clue were coming.

I still want to beat Sam, Laila, & Trevor in the head. Seriously.

My only gripe is that I never see the end of the story coming! It always gets so good and then BAM! the story ended for now. Lol! I did enjoy the excerpt from the next part.

I worry about our girl, Aves. Really and truly. And I do want to beat Kyle too. So good!!!

I did receive this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have enjoyed reading this series, and this installment was the best one yet. By the time I'd finished it, I'd forgotten that the author mentioned it was "Part One" of the last book in the Westbrook Series, so the cliffhangers at the end surprised me a bit but definitely left me anxious to find out the rest of the story! Great job Laura Clark on making these characters real, including flaws and insecurities. The struggle is real, and we don't always make good choices. I can't wait to find out what happens.

Laura Clark is an amazing writer!! Felt every emotion the characters were going through and understood everything that was happening with Avery only because I have been through that myself!!! I love love this author, love her writing because the book flows so nicely. I am actually a fan of Sam's and I was glad he was also included because I want to know more about what happens to him. As for the MCs of this story, I didn't expect the way the book ended. I can't wait to read what Ms. Clark writes in her next book.

I was gifted a copy of this novel by the talented novelist Laura Clark for an honest review. This is a fourth novel in the Westbrook series and a spin off series following Laila’s best friend Avery and her brother Kyle. I was thrilled to learn that their stories were going to be told. Avery in the past novels has always been somewhat recluse, she never confided in Laila about what was really on her mind and defiantly not about her relationship with Kyle. Since this novel is told from Avery’s POV its exciting to unveil the mystery that is Avery mind. I love Avery’s character and her maturity. Avery doesn’t over analyze things too much, she pays close attention to the people around her and their actions and genuinely cares about the people closest to her. Avery overextends herself on a regular basis in so many ways, she has to have a perfect GPA, scholarship for college, cheerleading captain as well as developing the routines, church goer and fundraiser, newly acquired TA position and last but certainly not least, trying to figure out her romantic life.
Since the story follows Avery AND Kyle it is only fair that he get a say too right ? Right !!! Because that is what we got, duel perspectives throughout the novel. Kyle’s POV is a welcome and a necessary addition to the novel. I enjoy reading the action / reaction format , it helps to better understand the characters frame of mind and the instinct that drives them. Especially in Kyle and Avery case they keep everything close to their heart and in their head.
An added bonus, throughout the story we get updates on how our favorite love triangle is progressing ! Yes we get our Laila, Trevor and Sam fix !!! What a ride it has been thus far, I can’t wait to see what happens next !! It very cool to read Avery and Kyle’s ideas on the situation, see it as they do. We get a front row seat as to why Kyle reacts the way he does toward his sister and his best friend. Now lets get to the hot and heavy, this is where it gets interesting !!Avery’s long time crush Kyle (AKA Laila’s older brother) is no longer a crush, he is possibility !! That’s if Kyle can prove he is not the player he once was and that he is ready for a real relationship with not just anybody, but with Avery. Oh and lets not forget about Georgia, Kyle’s girlfriend, we will learn more about Kyle’s feelings towards Georgia and their situation.
A somewhat new addition to the Westbrook cast is Conner AKA Mr.Channing the HOT english teacher at Westbrook High that every girl student pines for. A teacher that Avery will soon be spending more time with. Hmm ……that can be trouble or just plain fun because we all have been “HOT FOR TEACHER” at some point ! I love that Clark chose to take the story in this direction. It makes the story a little more honest and a lot more juicy. This novel has a maturity that the past novels lacked. The young adult feel in the past novels was appropriate for the storyline , in Playlist Clark has turned it up a notch. So i’ll translate…… I am so excited to see where all this goes ! I don’t want to spoil anything so I will say I’m team the other guy for now ( not Kyle, although I do like his character).
I have become attached to these characters and their world. I love that I’m getting small glimpses into the lives of other supporting characters. I am so looking forward to what is to come !! I know a little secret about the rest of the series and you will love it !! But I can’t tell sorry folks, you just have to keep reading ! There is no surprise that I strongly recommend this series as well as the three preceding novels, it would be best to read those first then Playlist. Playlist picks at the end of laws of motion. Enjoy and please review if you read them ! Happy reading !!

**I received and eARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review**

I enjoyed returning back to the town of Westbrook. Even though Laila’s choices frustrated me quite often, how her story came to a close in Laws of Motion made me squeal with delight. Avery was always there, her best friend that had her own love issues, some even entangled with Laila’s. When I learned that Avery would get her own chance to tell her story, I couldn’t wait for it to arrive on my kindle. I started it almost immediately.

Trust the warning at the beginning of the book. There are mature themes in this installment of the series, and while the characters that I fell in love with in the first three books are still there, they have different roles.

I liked Avery when I met her. Her role as Laila’s best friend added a lot to the series, especially when she dated Trevor. However, that time has come and gone, and Avery was ready to move on. She had always been in love with Kyle, and I couldn’t wait to have him play a large part in the story. He had even a smaller role than Avery, but he intrigued me. Needless to say, I’m team Kyle. Avery’s relationship with Conner Channing, consequently, didn’t bode well with me. Partly because he was a teacher and partly because something about him didn’t sit well with me. He was charismatic and older. The age difference, while Avery argued that it didn’t matter that much, really picked at my brain. I could see the numbers in real life, work them out as an actual equation involving real people, and…well, go Kyle!

Kyle…ah, I really liked him. He had a distinctive voice, one torn between wanting to return to his old ways because of loneliness and a strong need to move on and become better. He started out as Laila’s brother but became so much more. I finally saw him as the guy that Avery had fallen “punch drunk in love” with. I witnessed a guy willing to change. My heart broke for him when nothing went right, and I want him to have a happy ending.

If I didn’t know how their senior year turned out (the epilogue in Laws of Motion is right before graduation), I would be a lot angrier with Laila. She and Sam always had an infuriating relationship (sorry for devout lovers of Sam—Trevor has all of my heart!). She didn’t play a big part, and the few times she did, I wanted to hit her over the head and shout, “What are you doing? Trevor is great!” Nevertheless, the sane part of me knows that Trevor will prevail—I’ll probably just fall off my chair in anticipation before then. No big deal.

I highly recommend this series. It fits in the upper young adult category, however, and rightly so. I’m interested to see how Avery’s story ends—definitely Kyle’s. While you don’t have to start with Distraction, I would suggest reading Laila’s story first. (I’m rooting for more books written in Laila’s perspective, anyway!)

Playlist establishes itself in the Westbrook series, a new story with the characters that you loved in the first three books. This town is proving to be full of drama!

Playlist is the 4th book in the Westbrook series but the first in the series about Avery and Kyle. It alternates 1st person POV which is nice because then we get to know both characters really well. One very important thing to note about this book is that it isn't a complete story. It is just the first volume of three in the series about Avery and Kyle which means there isn't a satisfying conclusion and there's even be a bit of a cliffhanger. In order to truly enjoy the book, you need to be committed to reading all three. This first volume set the stage for their love where they feel it and can't ignore it but aren't quite ready to pursue it yet so a lot of their choices are pretty frustrustrating.

Have you ever really liked and cared about a character but at the same time just wanted to reach into the book and shake some sense into her? That is how I feel about Avery. She's obviously a good person; a really good person. She is generous, caring and considerate. I liked her in the first 3 books and I like her even more now that I've read a book from her perspective. However, the girl needs to learn a few things about life. First lesson, seek first to understand and then be understood (nod to the 7 Habits for Highly Successful People). If ever there was a girl who needed to learn this lesson, it's her. She was jumping to faulty conclusions and refusing to talk things out all over the place and it was causing her all kinds of unnecessary pain. Second, any dude who pursues an inappropriately aged girl is a creepy perv, even if he doesn't seem like it, and she should be keeping her distance. Five years is a big deal at that age. Would it be okay for a 17 yo to date a 12 yo? No way. Twenty two and 17 isn't okay either. The whole teacher thing just makes it 20 million times worse. There is no way a young, good looking dude would be hired as a high school teacher and not thoroughly warned to draw very clear boundaries with students, especially students of the opposite sex. The fact that he blurred boundaries from the very beginning makes him a total creeper in my book. Third lesson, everyone needs someone to talk to openly. She has a good friend who cares about her and loves her but instead of sharing openly with her, she bottles everything up until she cracks like a pinata of pain. It feels so much better to share and get things out as they come. Thankfully she begins to learn this lesson at least in part in this first book.

My favorite part of this book was around the mid point when Kyle was kicking himself for being a bit of a coward and wondering why he does the things he does when he has this moment of clarity that was really refreshing and really summed up the whole book pretty well. It gave me hope that while these two characters are moving in all the wrong directions now, the mistakes they are making are just helping them to grow and mature so that they will be ready for a lasting, healthy and mature relationship when they finally do come together...hopefully.

I totally recommend giving this book a shot but I also recommend reading the first three of the series first.

I was offered this novel in exchange for a free review. There may be some minor spoilers below, but no major ones so not hiding the review this time.

This is a well-written book that provides a good back-and-forth POV between Avery and Kyle who were my favourite characters in the first three books in the series. They have a fun relationship, and Clark is very clever in how she weaves stories and back stories together. In the first three books, you get to see Avery and Kyle and their relationship but only as a secondary plot line; the focus is definitely on Laila and her Sam-Trevor troubles.

While you don’t need to have read the first three books to understand the story and romance, they certainly help to position who the characters are especially the Laila storyline that continues to play out in the background. Given how the first three books ended, I didn't think that the Laila story could pull me back in, but the fact that it is happening in the background - why are they smiling and talking, what are they talking about? - is a solid way to hook you.

So, in short, I really enjoyed this book. In fact, this is my favourite book of the series to date. Why? Avery and Kyle taking over the narration; the student-teacher relationship; and the fact that Clark seems to be really hitting her stride as an author. I went into this book with excitement and some pretty high expectations, and it delivered.

I found the writing in the first book a bit choppy, but this one flowed well. Sometimes there's a bit too much detail in the descriptions for my taste, but it's entirely personal and I suspect that many readers of this genre would apprecaite the level of detail that is put into building the space around the characters.

Kyle and Avery are very real and develop as individuals by way of the back-and-forth storytelling.
Avery still acts like a teenager with Connor which is an interesting contrast/comparison with Kyle’s behaviour as he expresses his feelings about Avery. I think that it’s also fun to see how Avery sees Connor as older and more mature, but he acts like Kyle in a lot of ways. Even though I read a number of student-teacher relatinship books, when they are set in high school, I end up feeling very uncomfortable (which I am sure is intentional) with the romance or potential romance. Connor and Avery works in some ways because the age gap is not that big - although you don't find that out right away - and because she walks the line between girlish crush and a more mature emotional state.

The ending was a bit of a let down simply because I wanted it be more of a cliff hanger. It just ended. Will I read the next book? Of course. And I hope that we get some Connor narrative woven into the story. Oh, and find out what's going on with Sam-Laila-Trevor?!

First of all... Wow! how's that for a plot twist?
Now... This book was sent to me to do an honest review and I appreciate Laura's trust in me to do this, I know it took me some time to finished it, but it was worth it.

It's a really good and enjoyable book, I felt all this different emotions while reading it, seriously my head was a roller coaster of emotions, it kept my mind going over and over what I read to figure or try to figure what was going to happen next... Now if you want my serious thoughts on the main characters, read below... For now all I have to say is that YOU BETTER READ THE BOOK, CAUSE ITS AWESOME.

So Avery has this's situation that seems pretty familiar to me, now I don't want to pry or anything, but I have to say I was quite the smart student too, but in this case I was pretty mad at Avery , cause she thinks of herself so much above everybody else that she is incapable of accepting one little problem or mistake to her friends. I mean... Come on Aves, that's what friends are for.
Also, what about the super high school drama she has going on with Kyle, if it's important to you, then why won't you say anything to him? Seriously, guys literally and normally have no frigging idea of what they did wrong, and sorry for avery but she acted really high schooler with Kyle by not telling hi, what she heard or what was going on.

Kyle, oh sweet Kyle, I love you! I love you even more because he is the only character really growing up and learning in this whole book, he's the Ina truly changing and fighting to be better, I love Kyle.

Connor, has secrets, and I'm waiting anxiously to learn some of them. He is good, and his intentions are good, also he is the kind of sexy teacher we all wanted in high school. But I don't know how to feel about the issue... I be read something similar and it ended well, at the end... Considering Laura here likes her twists plots, I can't wait to see what happens next.

Thank you Laura, hope I get to read the next one.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

To say I enjoyed this book is an understatement. It was just wow, I don't even have the words to explain how good this story was. I admit that I might have not of liked Avery as much when I was reading the first 3 Westbrook books, (BY THE WAY YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY GO READ THEM!), but reading from her POV made me understand her. I actually want her as a bestie too now.

*gasp* What a big shocker! Lol ;D

Like her first 3 books this has two POVs, which I honestly appreciate. I think doing a male POV is hard, but Laura does a spot on job. I don't think I gave my praise on this in my other reviews, but I wanted to say that now.

Avery has a crush on Kyle, Laila's older brother. Poor girl has it bad for the player, but who could blame her I do too. The author just makes it hard on you not to love them! But like every great story their be a conflict and that conflict is dear old Mr. Channing!!!!! <3 AKA Mr. Charming!

My, my, my, Avery sure dose know how to pick em', but he might as well have a big fat 'off limits' sign tattooed on his forehead. It's just a disaster waiting to happen! Reading the interaction between those two just had me grasping my phone for dear life! Ah! But that man is just to hard not to love!

So far I have enjoyed every book Laura has made, but I must honestly say this is my favorite! I cannot wait for the next one. The only real complaint I have is that it wasn't long enough!!!!! I need more! I seriously read this super slowly so I wouldn't finish it, but at last I finally finished it.... *sigh*

So please! Grab your nearest iPad, kindle, or whatever and go read it! It's just that good! You should also read the first 3 books in the Westbrook series. I don't think it's necessary to read them in order to read this, but I encourage you to do so, so you could enjoy them as I did!

I was given an ARC in an exchange of an honest review.

First I have to say that reading Laura Clark books is like riding a thrilling ride.
Since the first book I read of hers I knew I would love any book she writes.
I really felt connect to this book to the point that I can say I could of written exactly the same thing. Twilight references, Team Jacob, little things like that that I read thru out the book that had me saying "Hey I say that, Hey I like that or Hey my favorite song".
I don't know if LC remembers from my previous comments how much I love the Older guy and younger girl plot in books. In this amazing book not only I like one lead guy but really fell for both.
On the previous Three books I only had one favorite Trevor never liked Sam. And probably LC is going to kill me for saying this but I kind of want Sam to get back with Laila. I cheer for Trevor to end up with Laila so much on the first three books, Trevor was my bias. He was perfect but in this book I got to see a more passionate and mature Sam. Laila and Sam still have feelings for each other and If Laila after trying to be with Trevor she doesn't stop loving Sam she should break up with Trevor and go back to Sam. I feel she is using Trevor to make Sam jealous. And that is not a mature way to go.
Okay I should be talking about Kyle, Connor and Avery. Love both guys. But I have to say I kind of incline more to Connor. The teacher student relationship is more exciting. The thrill of hiding trying not to get caught super sexy hahah. Kyle feelings for Avery are kind of confusing for me. Like he just feels attracted to her even do he repeated it wasn't just because she was beautiful that he liked her. After one little fight he gave up on her. Laila told him she is dating another guy in a blink of an eye he backs off. Maybe I will change my mind about him on the next book.

Please LC write more books like this!!
Don't forget about those who love the older guy/younger girl romance.

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This book continues on from the first 3 books but with the focus of Avery and Kyle. I fell in love with them in the first books and even more in this book. In the first 3 books you got a glimpse of what was going on with them but this book you now get to hear there side with POV from both of them.

Kyle and Avery have had crushes on each other for years but have never done anything about them. Kyle finally admits his feeling to Avery but he is in a relationship. Now Kyle and Avery are both single and Kyle tries everything to win Avery, but she can't get past his player ways and Avery also has her eyes on the sexy young teacher Connor.

I love the connection between Kyle and Avery, they are the best of friends and know each other. The banter between them makes the connection even stronger. I liked the idea of another guy in the picture for Avery, but not really a fan of him being a teacher. The whole highschool student teacher relationship to me is just not right to me.

I really liked that Sam, Laila and Trevor were still a big part of the book. Nice to read how things are moving between them all. Still a big Sam fan!!

I never like reading a cliffhanger at the end of a book, but I was not a fan how this book ended either, it felt like there was no real ending it just stopped. The last two chapters were such a big part of the story and then it just ended weird, but it still makes me want to read more. I need more Kyle and Avery. I am a Kyle fan all the way.

Can't wait to read the next one!!!!

Okay first I will get the first question out of the book I have....How can it end like that????? OMG

Our fourth venture into the life of Westbrook sees Laila's best friend Avery falling for Laila's brother Kyle.

In past books we caught glimpses of what might be happening between the two however nothing compares to this instalment. The book is set in both Avery and Kyle's POV giving us an amazing look in the thoughts and actions of both characters.

Avery still being younger will always posted some problems for Kyle (especially how he reacted to his sister and Sam in the last books). He wants to pursue a relationship with Avery and after some serious text flirting it may workout. Kyle is a seriously flawed character and i have some problems with the way he goes about it trying to win over Avery.

Avery herself is torn between Kyle and the charismatic Connor (who just happens to be the hot teacher). I found it hard to relate to Avery at some points in the book but I believe she redeemed herself 50% into it.

This book (for all the Sam, Laila and Trevor fans), allows us glimpses into their relationship workings from both Avery and Kyle's prospective. I must add this is definitely added bonus to read this book.

Although the last two chapters shocked the hell out of me I should have know there would be more to come. Seriously a great read but be prepared to be upset about having to wait until PART 2 comes out.

At this point as wrong as it sounds I'm more team Connor then Kyle.

Not looking forward to waiting for next instalment.

Playlist. I was privileged enough to receive this book in exchange for an honest review. I was lucky enough to read the beginning of the series late last year and I can honestly say that it has left its impact on me based on the amount of realism written. My mind is still reeling after reading Part One of this book. I'm definitely excited to read what lies ahead.

Here we are brought into Avery and Kyle's story. A glimpse into their lives both apart and together. I wasn't joking about how real Laura's writing is when it comes to the teenage mind and just the amount of emotions felt during certain events and people. High school is different for everyone. Change occurs and feelings evolve. I can't even begin to explain how relatable this story is already. Avery and Kyle. Both characters filled with feelings, passion and so much confusion. Definitely understandable and sometimes overwhelming. It makes me miss this part of high school.

Playlist is about attempting to understand your feelings more. How your head and heart can disagree yet you can't help who your heart belongs to. Not when your feelings are that deep and intense. It's about being a good friend, needing to figure things out on your own and just to live without pressure from anyone. I feel the emotions expressed in this book. The pain, heartache, confusion, love. This is the type of book that'll take you back to your own experience which just makes Playlist more amazing. You get to live and learn all over again.

I applaud you, Laura. You've got me hooked onto another book of yours, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Can't wait to the next part.

I received a free copy of Playlist: Part One in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the first three books in the Westbrook series! I was so excited to find out Avery and Kyle would be getting their own story. As always, the book was well-written (which I always appreciate because there's nothing worst than reading a book that does not flow well or was poorly written with a lot of errors). I loved that Laila, Trevor, and Sam were still a part of the storyline and I am left wondering just what might happen there. I hope we will continue to see more of them in the next part. I will admit I was a bit surprised by the direction Avery and Kyle's relationship seemed to be headed, but surprises can be good to shake up possible expectations! And I, of course, had some expectations when I started reading the book, so I am glad I was shaken up by the storyline. I believe Avery and Kyle have to go through their own journeys before they find their way back to one another but that doesn't mean I didn't want to shake both of them throughout the book to knock some sense into them!! :) I am so curious to see where part 2 is going to take us. If you haven't read the first three books in the series - you must!! Definitely in my top 10 must read series! Thank-you for another great story Laura Clark!

*copy provided from the author for and honest review*

This book gave you another side of the main group in the first three books and their love issues as well as still following Layla, Sam, and Trevor. Avery is finally beginning to see how hard things were for Layla for liking several guys at the same time when she finds herself in the situation with her teacher Mr. Channing and best friends brother Kyle. You really get to know where Avery is coming from by always being so happy and why she does things the way she does. Kyle on the other hand I wanted to slap from the beginning and just tell him to get his head out of his ass and explain things to Avery instead of just letting her go on thinking that she just messed things up. Mr. Channing on the other hand I really feel for with him being so young and putting his carrier on the line for what happened with Avery. Over all I love this book and cant wait till the next one comes out.

Love this series! I was so excited to read Avery and Kyle's story! So many things happen to criss cross chances for these two to get together! Poor Kyle just can't figure out how he keeps Avery upset with him. Then Avery has another attraction interfering with her crush and possible chance with Kyle! We also get more glimpses of our fave characters from the first three books, Laila, Sam, and Trevor! I still love Sam and my heart hurts for him. It's great getting views on those three from Avery and Kyle. Avery and Kyle hit every twist, turn, miscommunication, that could possibly happen! I loved this book and can't wait for more! Angst, drama, old crush, new crush, Ms. Clark keeps you turning the pages! Fun, light-hearted romance with a splash of angst! Don't miss out on this great series!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, wow, wow. Okay, actually, I am going to try and keep the spoilers to myself, only because I may or may not have wasted my breath shouting about the book to my sisters. This book is explained through Avery's perspective (Laila's best friend, Trevor's ex-girlfriend), and goes back and forth between her and Kyle's point of view. Yes, Kyle Patterson; Laila's idiot and jerk, older brother.
Avery a kind of still hung up on Kyle, even though they have never actually admitted liking each other, and, also, Kyle has not proven to have changed from the player he has always been. He is also hung up on Avery, has been for quite some time. I have to admit, the way he thinks about her is adorable. And then there is Connor.

"Playlist" it's a very emotional and interesting story of Avery and Kyle, they are attracted to each other, it was clear for me from previous books. But this book shows me their thoughts and inner feelings - and I'm happy about that, because these two have a special chemistry.
I loved to meet again Laila, Sam, Travor and others from Westbrook series. It's great to read about them from a different angle.
And mostly I like the way this story is written, because thanks to that I have a feeling of every detail in the life of main characters. I adore that feeling of participation in that imaginary life, as if I were between these events. It's so exciting and it's the reason why I love so much to read books.

I've read all the books in this series and this one was the best yet! When I first started reading this book, I wasn't sure I was in the mood for a young adult book. After I got started, I could NOT put it down. I finished it within 24 hours. It was young adult but with a twist.

This story revolves around Avery and her love interests, Kyle and Connor. I thought the author was just going to tease us with one guy and then let her end up with the “safer” choice. Was I wrong!! I was so excited that she was going down the other road.

I cannot begin to tell you how great the book was. I love nothing more then reading a book where you are totally engrossed in the story. I cannot wait to read the next one.

This is an easy read. Laura Clark is a great writer. I really like this series. The Books 1-3 in the series told Laila's story. Book four is about Avery, Laila's best friend. Through Laila's story Avery was introduced and her story was hinted. Now she is getting to tell her story. Avery is a very strong and independent girl. She is on a mission and is 99% sure on how she is going to get there. Now there are few distractions. Kyle Patterson the brother of the best friend and the "crush". Connor Channing, something new and exciting, but also the "forbidden fruit". I can't wait to read the next book. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review... Wow. Laura Clark has done it again, and somehow taken her first three books and continued on in a whole new direction while still keeping you totally wanting more and feeling so connected to the characters. I am dying to read the next book! I definitely did not see that ending coming and I loved it, just enough to end the book but keep you absolutely interested enough to keep reading on...

Loved it! I feel like this is her best work yet. I loved the dynamic with Avery and Kyle, but as always there is a twist. I love the direction on the new relationships and look forward to more in part 2. What is going on with Leila? Just when I thought I liked her decision, I am having second thoughts. Well done, Laura! Thank you for allowing me to read this book, I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
