Comfort Crossing #3.5

The Christmas Scarf

Rate this book
Sometimes, Christmas wishes bring their own special magic…

A woman chasing a life-long dream. A man given a second chance at love. If one wins, the other loses. Does a stranger’s scarf hold enough magic to make both their Christmas wishes come true?

Missy Sherwood has always wished for one thing, to be a country singer. After trying to make it for years in Nashville, she returns to her hometown of Comfort Crossing, Mississippi, feeling like a misfit and a failure. But there’s no use in telling anyone the truth just yet—she’s here for longer than the holidays, she's home for good. Right?

Dylan Rivers is glad to see his old friend return to town, not only to help him with the children’s Christmas pageant, but because her homecoming sparks long-forgotten but never acted upon feelings. But there is no use in acting on those feelings, she’s soon to head back to her fabulous career in Nashville. Right?

Then a stranger comes to town and has Missy re-examining her dreams. She gets one final chance, and her life-long wish is within her grasp. Is there really magic in the stranger’s scarf, or is it in the power of knowing her heart’s true wish?

Kay Correll

Kay Correll is a USA Today bestselling author of sweet, heartwarming stories that are a cross between women’s fiction and contemporary romance. She is known for her charming small towns, quirky townsfolk, and the enduring strong friendships between the women in her books.

Kay splits her time between the Southwest coast of Florida and the Midwest of the U.S. and can often be found out and about with her camera, taking a myriad of photographs, often incorporating them into her book covers. When not lost in her writing or photography, she can be found spending time with her ever-supportive husband, knitting, or playing with her puppies - a cavalier who is too cute for his own good and a naughty but adorable Australian shepherd. Their five boys are all grown now and while she misses the rowdy boy-noise chaos, she is thoroughly enjoying her empty nest years.

Sentimental

This is a tear making sentimental Christmas story. A young woman returns to her hometown after failing in her dream to be a country singer. She finds happiness in putting others first and helping in the Christmas activities.

I came into reading this short story without any previous experiences in Comfort Crossing (the small town in which this took place.) I feel like the author did a good job of making all reader comfortable in the small town without having to read previous books in the series. The story was short and cute. There were a few places in the plot were having a little longer story could have benefited. Sometimes with Novellas, I feel like the author is trying to put a lot of emotion and plot development into a tiny package. The end of this story felt that way to me. Having said that, I really enjoyed the story. It was fun. The characters were real and flawed, which I enjoyed. Now that I have found Ms. Correll, I will have to read more. Thank you!

Cute Cozy Cuz

Missy comes home to what she remembers as safe and secure. Well kinda. No to Nashville at Christmas. Hello Comfort Crossing. Time didn't stand still. Her old besu/sweetheart is married and now a Dad. Her mom is newly married with step children and step grandchildren invading for the holidays. Not even her old room available. Mom and husband Dwight have packed all available beds. No problem Missy can board with her best cuz, Becky Lee. Follow along as she revisits the past, rethinks her dreams deferred, and opens up for a different future. Just cute.

I love this series. The Comfort Crossing series is about a small town "Comfort Crossing" in Mississippi. This novella is about a girl, Missy, who comes back to her home town of Comfort Crossing after her plan of becoming a country singer doesn't quite pan out. As she reconnects with family and old friends and her life plans start to go down a new path.

This short, sweet and clean novella is about a Nashville wannabe singer who remains unsuccessful in her goals and returns home for Christmas, only to reconnect with an old smitten friend. After doing so, opportunity arises and she must make a choice. A good bedtime story for those who enjoy this genre.

Home is where the heart is

What a sweet story of small town living - where everyone knows your name and, eventually, your business. When Missy's life doesn't go as expected, she has to make a choice - but will it be the right one for her? I enjoyed reading her journey of self discovery and you will, too.

Sweet, easy read.

I’ve read several of Kay’s books and they all feel good! This world is already so heavy, her writing is light, airy, uplifting and let’s you remember all the good we too often forget. I use my reading time for pleasure and I look forward to much more. Join her Facebook group and get a glimpse of a real person!

A sweet contemporary romance. I liked it because even though there are tons of Christmas stories out there it still has its own special sparkle. And you can go to the authors site and download her first book in this series for free! Happy Dance!

Sweet little Christmas romance novella. Only took a couple of hours to read. If you've been confused about your path in life, or have been hoping for the relationship of your dreams, you might want to go to Comfort Crossing for a week or two. Maybe stay at the Sweet Tea B & B.

Missy comes back, and finds everyone has moved on with new marriages and lives of their own. No room at her Mother’s now so she says at a friend’s place, and thoughts of what has passed since she was last here. Time to follow her heart, cute story

A nice from the heart Christmas story.

I liked this story because it was about 2 people who fell in love again & how a man by the name of Nick made everything happen for the characters! Could it have been St Nick? Hmmm...

Cute Christmas time Novella. This was a fast read with good characters. It is extremely modern and deals with other pressures of the holidays. And realities, coming back to your home town after ten years.

This is a cute little Hallmark movie in book form. Very predictable, but fun to read. I had not read any of Kay Correll's series prior, but did not have any difficulties catching up, and will be checking out her other books for some light reading in the future.

Heartwarming

Nice easy read. A feel good book. Just because you plan your life one way doesn't always mean it's really why you want. Life is always changing and sometimes are dreams change as well.
