Jess makes a stop in a small dilapidated town in northern Texas called Dundee to turn in the dead body of a rapist and murderer. The town, which used to be a bustling and thriving place, is slowly heading downward. He meets some of the people there and even stays the night with Elmer, a poor man he takes a liking to.
He leaves Dundee to travel to Clearwater, where he meets Eruin Resch, the owner of a gold mine that is about to shut down. Resch hires Jess to help guard his last shipments of gold to the town of Crater to be put on the train and transferred to Missouri.
He discovers that Beecher Stillson, a well-known bank robber is hanging around the Dundee area and that some bad hombres are going there to meet up with him. Jess unknowingly kills three of Stillson’s men before they make it to the hideout where the rest of his gang are waiting.
Jess starts putting things together and the lead starts flying. Jess has to make sure the last three gold shipments make it to Crater safely. In the meantime, he starts investing in the town of Dundee to bring it back to the way it was years ago, hoping to convince Resch into investing in his old hometown as well. As the town comes back to life, it attracts some good people, along with some bad. Can Jess save the town of Dundee while making sure the gold shipments get safely to their destination all at the same time?

In 1990 Robert J. Thomas was sworn in as the full time mayor for the city of Westland, Michigan. He served twelve years, making him the longest serving mayor in Westland's history.
While he was mayor he wrote his first book titled, How to Run for Local Office, which has now sold over 25,000 copies worldwide.
He has written and published on Kindle, the Jess Williams Westerns series. Retired, he now lives in Mississippi with his wfe Jill.
Another GREAT adventure starring "JESS WILLIAMS." Difficult times for a town that was dying and the few people who still lived there trying to eke out a living. Jess helps the town people by rehabilitation of the town. We all know Jess uses his bounty money to invest in different enterprises. He's a fair man who tells those that he's invested in to make they pay him back as they get start making a profit. I think because Jess gives back to those who are in "NEED" and he's rewarded by a "HIGHER POWER." You can never go wrong helping those who have fallen on hard times, no matter how bad, these poor souls keep right on "trucking." "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU."
This series just keeps getting better. Jess Williams is some kind of special man. He helps a whole town revitalize. Everyone loves how he treats people and gives them a helping hand.
Well Jess is always helping someone, but putting a whole town together. Sure takes a lode of sand. Guess Jess he has it tho. Looking forward to see what he does next.46 here I come.JD.
I agree with many others that this is one of the best Jess books and I've read them all. His charitable side really comes out but his bounty hunter side is still very much in place. I couldn't give it five stars simply because of the many misused words, grammatical errors and misspellings. After this many books, I would expect no errors.
My only gripe is that the price of the Kindle books went up. It's getting harder for me to justify spending four bucks on such a short book no matter how good it is.
Bounty hunter, Jess, decides to bring a dying town back to life by investing in everything, including new houses and businesses. He even gets his friend, Senator Thibadough, to invest in it among other things. All, the while, Jess continues his hunting. Jess has always been generous, but this books shows a new level of maturity and intelligence in Jess. I recommend this if you like western books, or even if you don't
Dundee is the best Jess Williams book to date. I don't know how you keep producing such good story lines. I like the length of the book. It felt like a novel. The length of Dundee was perfect. I was completely satisfied. Keep up the good work. I can't wait for book #46.
Turn out Jess Williams is just as good a businessman as he is a philanthropist and a bounty hunter. He saves the town from dying. Saves the people in it from destitution. Saves the gold shipment from thieves and still manages to knock off a few bad guys in his spare time. What a guy. You gotta love him. One of his best.
