I have had my doubts about the new Ghostbusters movie. Recent interviews with the original cast and there attitude towards the movie made me a little more open to this reboot. I bought and read this book to further investigate the new Ghostbusters. I liked this book which seems to line up very well with the trailers that have been released, so it seems faithful to the story of the film. I enjoyed the book, and now expect to enjoy the film.
I absolutely loved the film. This book? Not so much. It was a little bland, and I had a hard time focusing on and, in turn, took longer than I should have to finish it. It was still enjoyable though, so there is that.
This book was a lot of fun to read. I seriously doubt it will be considered a classic but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The dialogue was funny and refreshing, the action was good and it was a fun read regardless of the movie itself stinking.
This brought back good memories of my childhood. I loved slimmer! and Casper albeit all together different story and cartoon. I picked up this book at HEB while waiting in line. I read 5 pages and was hooked. Easy read and admitting I am looking forward to seeing the movie remake with all the female cast. It is funny that this movie in the mid 80's was all intelligent men physicist and mathematicians while the female was the receptionist. Now the remake the male is cast as the beautiful handsome male receptionist with no clue what is going on while the female have the brains to understand and build the machines. How times have changed. I gotta say the male got the short end of the stick in this book/movie. At least in the 80's the female receptionist was smart and helped out with common sense matters when the brainy men needed help.
I've just finished reading this book , it was very fascinating and pretty funny a lot of scary features I suppose.I have two flaws with the book. One of the flaws was really disappointing to me, if u saw the new ghost busters movie that was released in 2016, There is no difference to the book and the movie its basically the same thing .I mean its really disappointing because if theirs a movie about a book there will always be some kinda twist but for this book ,no same thing. The other flaw I had with this book is that the ending of the book was explained with just pictures and I find that really lazy for a author to do that. But anyway totailly recommend it to any movie fan of the series who just likes to collect merchindise.
Was soll ich sagen?
Clearly it's a book made mostly for kids, but it's still quite enjoyable (not as much as the movie though). But I didn't like the fact that they gave Erin a boyfriend, who was in only one scene. I just think it wasn't necessary. If you're gonna develop the thing throughout the book it's okay, but don't just shove it in like that. Like the movie shows, a woman doesn't need a man to be happy/powerful/successful.
This book was...not great. It didn't capture what the new movie did at all. It was missing the truly hilarious parts that resonated in the movie. It added an unnecessary love interest to one of the characters. And overall, it wasn't well written. The lines are choppy and there's a certain expectation that you've seen the movie because the plot isn't explained well. I understand this is a kids novelization, but it was a poorly executed one.
