Kendra writes contemporary romances featuring strong men and the women who bring them to their knees. She's married with 2 children, drinks too much coffee, eats too much chocolate and thinks doing housework is a waste of good reading time.
This was a quick, rather enjoyable read for in-between.
Although I liked the first book in the series, King, much better as the story was more fleshed-out, this installment was not bad either. The 2 MCs, Emma and Adam, were likable, but the chemistry was not that convincing.
Adam Lyons and Emma Sampson was compatible for each other yet both was stubborn hearted. After the death of his mother things between him and his father spiral out of control and Adam was dishearten. He has also had a tough childhood and he sees a kindred spirit in Emma. The initial book "King" was exceptional but this one lacked that zing now don't get me wrong, it was good but miss the mark a little. The storyline was well written with great characters but never felt the connection between Emma and Adam. Overall, a nice story!
