*Can be read as a stand-alone novel* Gabby Sullivan’s wedding has been perfectly planned down to the tiniest detail. What she can’t control is a blizzard scheduled to blow into town the week before and a friend who has given up on love.
As friends and family find themselves hunkered down in a blissful mountain lodge, new love sparks between two unsuspecting people who stopped believing in love a very long time ago.
But sometimes it takes more than a blizzard and a Christmas miracle for the magic of the season to come alive. It takes a man who is willing to have his heart broken if it means getting to spend just one more night with the woman he let get away.
This is Emily’s Happily Ever After.
Inside Flap:
Six years ago, Emily Darman had the worst Christmas Eve possible. Her husband left her with a smile on his face, and it made her doubt just about everything about the season and the opposite sex. When her friends get wind of Emily’s recent online dating fiascos, they’re determined to find her a match made for the holidays. After all, it has been six years…
Using Gabby’s wedding as the perfect guise, Emily’s friends promise her a weekend of unwanted fun with two potential blind dates. It isn’t until a snowstorm derails their perfectly planned scheme that fate steps in and hands Emily an opportunity she just can’t resist.

Emily has been burned in the past. So she is a bit hesitant to attend a weekend away with friends when she learns she is being set up with a date. But after a rocky start, the weekend definitely turns around and Emily finds herself sorting through feelings she hasn't had to deal with in a long time. Good feelings. Feelings that have her questioning if maybe she is ready to give love a second chance.
I adored this story and everything within it. For me it is hard to read some stories that surround Christmas. They can either be great or cheesy. But Bolton did justice to the Christmas spirit. She had me coming back to the story every chance I got and wanting to know what happens. She had me thinking about the characters and if they would find a way. Bolton had me smiling throughout the book. Even during the times that seemed hopeless, I knew there had to be a way for it all to work out.
The characters have amazing chemistry together. They had this way about each other that made you feel comfortable with them. Like an old friend. Oh, and their banter had me snickering a few times. You can tell both clicked as a couple, but they just had a few hurdles in their way: their pasts and their futures. They just need to see if it all is worth working for. All worth having.
With Christmas just around the corner, it is definitely one you will want to read. Especially if you love a beautiful romance coupled with a fabulous storyline. Of course, this is Bolton that wrote the story, so would you expect anything less? Absolutely not. 5 Merry Stars!
I seem to be in the minority here, but this is an honest review. Emily was an annoying heroine, and I hated how the whole book was in her first person point of view. She pushed Binter away time and time again and was such a cliche of bad romance, thinking the worst of him near the end of the book without listening to an explanation. Ugh. Stupid manufactured drama ruined it for me.
Loved this book and what an end to the series. Looking forward to the island series now hoping for snip it’s of the characters I’ve got to love over the last 7 books.
This is a follow on book from the Beyond Love series. I think it would be best to read the previous books to know who is who. Emily had been divorced for few years, but had also had disastrous on lie dates, so it made her feel like giving up on men. Good read.
Emily and Derek both have messed up history but are really sweet people. In previous books you really got to know them. I'm glad they were able to work through things.
This book is mind blowing. Before you start this book you need to make sure your kids are fed, they have snacks and drinks out, the house is clean and your husband don't need anything... When you start this book you will not be able to put it down. You will have to take it and read it while you are trying to use the bathroom. I'm not kidding it is that good.
Karice did a amazing job pulling you into these characters life. Emily is just so loving, has a good since of humor and has a shield around her heart. I love how you can feel the love of her friend and family glow off of her. Derick is so kind and charming. Yet you feel like he could have a shield around his too. I love how Emily and Derick act around each other. I love how Karice put humor and fun into them. I love there chemistry they have.
I love all the Christmas spirit in it. I seen myself walking through Gabby and Jasons wedding just being hypnotized by all the decorations. This book really puts you into the Christmas spirit.
I love that you get to read about the other characters that we have grown to love.
I do not have any complaints about this book... Except maybe one. I WANT MORE.....
Thank you Karice for writing another amazing book. I truly enjoyed every word of it.
Beyond the Mistletoe is the kind of feel good second chance romance novel that would be perfect to read curled up on the couch next to your beautiful Christmas tree. Bolton showcases just how Christmas time can be magical again for those who have been burned in the past in love. Emily’s romantic life has been far from magical after her husband leaves her suddenly. In the passing years, her spirits for both romance and Christmas have dwindled to a frightening low level. But, with the magic of Christmas and the marvels that seem to happen this time of year, Emily attends the Christmas wedding of her friend Gabby. The wedding party trip brings with it miracles of its own as not one, but two men are vying for her affection. Emily learns that some people deserve a second chance at life and takes it by the reins. Beyond Mistletoe is a sweet romance that will make you fall in love all over again with the cast of characters. Even though, Emily’s story may bring this series to a close, it will leave your heart filled with joy. I can’t wait to see what Bolton writes next!
Emily had an extremely bad experience with love and is not hesitant to let anyone in. But her friends aren’t going to let that happen. Enter Derek who was a former trainer for Aiden and friends with the whole group.
He also turns out to be a famous actor turned director who disappeared almost twenty years ago. And Emily had the poster of him on her wall to prove it. But that instant meeting and connection put Emily on edge, especially since he’s moving to Montana before Christmas. Which turns out to be her fault as she stood him up a few months prior.
Emily and Derek get their happy ending in this stand-alone book in a series.
I loved that Emily didn’t recognize Derek right away but even knowing the truth, she didn’t fawn over him. It was also great that Derek saw Emily had been hurt in the past but tried his hardest to not push for more. I feel that would have made her miss out as she would have closed in on herself and not let him in.
Oh I loved this book so much! This series has been so amazing and has just gone out with a festive bang! It was magical and romantic. I Wish the world around me would have froze so I could have kept reading I was so hooked. Derek , like most the men in this series, is so much the perfect - if perfection was achievable-man. I instantly fell in love with him. I'm so sad it's over and wish I could live with this group of characters in real life forever. Their friendship is something dreams are made of. It's all very bittersweet but mostly sweet. Thank you Karice for giving us this wonderful series that we could dive in, absorb into our souls, and fill our hearts.
Emily is quite the protective and passionate woman when it comes to her dog, “the AKC doesn’t know everything about everything,”I informed him. “Bodie grew up as a chiwoodle, and I’m not going to blow up his world and tell him he’s actually a wapoo. That’s crazy.” I loved Derek he knew how to make Emily feel so special, "it wasn’t spectacular by any means, and yet, he made me feel like I’d put on the most astonishing evening gown in the world. “Whatever century it is, I’m loving every second of it,” he growled, lowering my hand but not letting go." I loved this book Derek was sexy and this was a great holiday story.
A beautiful love story also put me in the Christmas spirit the characters are wonderful. I love following what comes next in their lives. As always Karice Bolton wrote another fabulous book
I have read the entire series and they have all been amazing. I would reccomend the series and this author to everybody. Seems like every book I read, I just want to read more and more
