The Point

Coffee Table Book. The Point is a project that was built over the last decade out of the love of a lifestyle that is Malibu and more specifically the area that is called the Point. It is filled with history, culture, passion, style, and of course surfing. The spot is a promontory on the coast of Malibu that juts out into the Pacific- it forms the northern end of the Santa Monica bay. My family has been living here for the past 13 years and both of my boys have grown up within this lifestyle. The project is a bit of an homage to their childhood as they begin to grow up. A place for my boys to feel a sense of community and nature and a bliss that only can come from being on the ocean. I wanted them to know a magical life where kids surf before school and walk to the tide pools for lunch. Their backyard is the ocean and all that it has to offer; bonfires, long walks, and nice dips in the brisk sea. My hope is that these images bring the viewer to feel themselves the moments captured on the Point. The series offers a glimpse into a unique place so beautiful and full of life that it forces you to be in the moment and that is essentially THE POINT.
