Billionaire, Daniel Landa-Hollis has always loved his best friend, Misha. But his one attempt at seducing her ended in disaster. However, with one passion-filled kiss, his feelings are rekindled and this time he's determined not to give up as easily. Even as they work together to solve a murder involving one of city's prominent families, Danny is intent on showing her that he is far more than a side-kick. He's her one.
Plagued by seemingly insane fears, investigative journalist, Misha Alexander has kept her desires for Danny under lock and key. Danny's pursuit of her throws her off balance, and she is determined to resist him. However, the deeper they wade into their case, the harder it becomes to keep her feelings hidden.
Sparks fly between them as they sort through dirty family laundry, twisted lies and murder to find the truth. But within the truth are fears and secrets that hold the power to tear them apart. Now, Misha must decide if she's willing to risk Danny's life for a chance at love.
I liked the easy writing style that is seen in all of her books. I liked Misha and Danny's relationship. I thought it was believable enough. Misha was headstrong and sometimes I just wanted to shake her to wake her up!
This book was somewhat predictable, though it took a moment to figure out who was behind the hit. I wanted something with good pacing and friendly banter with a lot of tension and heat. This book had that with an added shot of mystery.
There is bad language and sex so I would recommend this read to those who are 18yrs and older.
Good Read, well written with great characters. The story itself was a super hot romance along with a mystery and I so love those. Misha and Danny were so cute with there banter and dialogue. I also love seeing Shakira and Nathan from Wicked Intentions, loved it!
Danny, Danny, Danny. Man has the patience of Job. And he sorely needed it with Misha. Part of me was vexed with her because of her thinking she was a death magnet. But I kind of understood after the details were provided. Did I agree? No. But I understood. As to the killer - a surprise but not. They were in the top 3. I love the chemistry between Danny and Misha. But my favorite is their love for one another. Protective and encouraging.
A sweet from friends to lovers book. Misha and Danny have been friends for over a two decade but they both want more. Afraid to act on their attraction for fear of destroying their frienship, neither makes a move. Well, that is if you don't count a kiss Danny initiated when they were in their teens.
As adults, they hang out and serve as each others +1 for parties and events. At one party Misha, a reporter, hears something that stirs her investigative reporter juices and places her in danger. Danny helps her investgate and helps to keep her safe after she is attacked; love then blooms. Nice, likeable characters but a little too sweet. This is a BWWM book you can't tell that, there are a diverse group of supporting characters as well but mostly for window dressing. Nothing complex or thoughtful just a sweet HEA ending.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had everything. I found it hard to put it down. But the ending was a little different to me. Not sure how I feel about this. But can't wait for Zeke's story
I want my money back so disappointed she loved but because of past accidents she didn't want to fall in love ? She took investigative reporting too far not even Diane Sawyer is that intense please don't waste your money
I thought that I loved Nathan in book one but Danny stole my heart. Love the relationship that the brothers have with each other and how they look out for their family. So now onto Zeke's story, which my gut tells me is going to be crazy...lol
