Voretti Family #1

Marriage: Impossible

Rate this book
Navy SEAL Sean Patterson didn't mean to marry his best friend's sister. But when he wakes up in a Reno honeymoon suite with a vicious hangover, a platinum band on his ring finger, and a mostly naked Keri in his bed, he knows the attraction he has spent half his lifetime repressing must've finally burst out of control—to disastrous consequences.

Keri MacKinnon has had a crush on her brother's best friend Sean since he rescued her from imaginary pirates when she was six. When he returns stateside after a harrowing tour of duty leaves him with a death wish, Keri will do anything to help—even pretend to be married. But as her crush blossoms into love, she must convince Sean to trust her with what really happened on the battlefield, or their make-believe marriage won’t ever grow into the real thing.

This is a standalone contemporary romance with an HEA, recommended for readers 18 and older.

Yeah, I guess now it's finally true. For this book, the average rating on goodreads says it all.

I don't know where to start... The characters were just not really sympathetic. I just had no connection with them- at all.

Our main female character is just a liar. Yeah sure she may be a pretty liar but still... I don't think I've read many honest statements that were made by her. She totally lies to the guy she loves - and not just once. Cause maybe I could've forgiven that but yeah... twice? three times? Wth.

Yeah, and then we've got our male character. He's a soldier. Apart from (of course) all this 'war worship' thing going on in there, he seems like a cool guy. He suffers from some sort of PTSD, has no idea about his best friend and basically just seems to have lived in a different world for half a year. And of course, he is a coward because he totally dreams about his best friend's little sis every night and yet can't seem to make a move. Great.

The plot is incoherent at times and all the dialogues are just stilted and definitely don't scream: Keep reading!!

So, all in all, that was not a very good read.

Wonderful Love Story

Sean and Keri what a wonderful couple who could express their love in various ways. While using their past to determine their future. This author is dynamic and will continue reading her books

Fantastic

Finally, a romantic book without all the posturing. I loved the way all the characters interacted without too much suspense. I will read the others in the series and recommend this first book to others.

When Navy Seal Sean wakes up next to his best friend's little sister in a honeymoon suite with a wedding ring on his finger, he thinks he's finally given in to the attraction that's been plaguing him since they were kids. Because she's been crazy about him forever too, Keri lets him think they're married--even though they're not. As Sean races against the clock to prevent his best friend from marrying the wrong woman (or so he thinks), the two of them realize maybe it's been a lot more than a crush all this time. This was a super fun, fast read with satisfying depth and resolution, which is amazing considering it's a novella. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the series, Love and Learn.

Tons of Heat

When you care about someone so much that you'd anything to protect them and show them they have someone in their corner.. That is everything about this book but add a burning fire, acting on true feeling and spur of the moment action that changes their lives..

Can't wait to read more about Ty and his love life
Sean and Keri..the Sparks can light a room on fire

In my opinion the book was too short and bit confusing at certain parts. I think that the book could have had more details.

This is a super quick read. Has some stereotypical tropes; Vegas marriage, best friend's little sister, but there's some new spins on these.

I liked that the author didn't shy away from issues our military are faced with everyday. It was real and gave Sean some depth.
It was good to see Keri face "why" she wanted to be with Sean. She needed to realize that she cannot fix everyone and it is not her job.
Ty acted very mature about the whole thing, which was pretty cool of him and not the way we typically see older brothers.

I thought the plot line of "we're married...just kidding" was a little annoying. Keri was starting her whole relationship based on a lie. I'm glad Sean was able to forgive her, but it still bothered me a bit.

This is part of the Voretti Family Series (5 books). The Voretti family member in this book was pretty much non-existent, but hopefully we'll see more of her in the next book.

Great book and hopefully a good start to a good series.

Short, sweet, and steamy.
What more can you ask for from a shorter story?
A bit more detail into their relationship and how their feelings came to be would have gone over really well here, for my personally. I think it would have made the connection to the characters easier to accomplish.
I enjoyed the read, but didn't feel as strong a connection as I would have liked to the couple overall and to the characters separately.

Okay

Let me tell you, when I opened this book I didn't even remembered buy it (for free) so my expectations weren't too high. And you know what? It was good! Sure there were things I might have changes (mainly the number of pages, if it was for me, there would be a lot more) but you may not want them, so I'm just gonna tell you that this as a book worth my time and I hope you'll agree with me 😉

I actually did not finish the book. I very rarely do not finish a book even if it isn't my favorite. However, the writing was just too confusing and strange for me to continue. It bounced from his thoughts to her thoughts to the narrator. The dialogue was very unnatural and simplistic. If I could have done less stars than one I would have. I hate to write bad reviews but this was just bad.

Mmm.. I was kind of getting into it and then I wasn't.. Hence such a long time it took for me to read it when I am somebody who has a super fast reading habit..

I liked the blurb, that got me in but then.. I mean it was fine. Wasn't much chemistry between the characters..felt just a liiiiiitle bit forced. Had absolute potential to be bomb.

I really wish I could have given this a higher rating but it just fell a little bit flat to me.

Not sure exactly why I didn't like it. It is a short read but took me several days to read. The storyline pulled me in but was unable to keep me hooked.
