This was like the wannabe-feminist version of Fifty Shades of Grey but without the Alpha Male hero, angst, chemistry and dirty talk.

The BDSM thing was ****CRINGE***. There's only so much him being her Lord and Master, and her being his good-little obedient Princess that I could take.


And if it's possible - the heroine in this book was even more stupid, annoying and lacking in personality than Anastasia Whatever Her Name.

The romance was meh. Sort of went like this:


Scene 1: I'm the Heroine and I might be a MODEL & BLONDE but I'm gonna talk AND obsesses about making money and having investments until YOU ARE convinced that I'm INTELLIGENT (but of course not as intelligent as The Hero My Step-brother). Because making loads of $$$ is the most important thing in life!

Oh and I'm so docile submissive around my step-brother The Hero that I'm almost like a SWEETLY SMILING inanimate object. My step-brother The Hero is SO GOOD & RICH. I'm his No.1 fan!


Scene 2: I'm the hero and although I'm a lawyer to RICH PEOPLE I'm actually a really good guy and my dad is EVEN BETTER (angel and halos) because although he's ALSO REALLY RICH by fleecing making money from representing loads of rich people, he's gonna try and help some poor people (coz it's his ticket to getting elected into politics - wink wink).

Oh and I've got a DEEP DARK secret **SUSHHH*** I like punishing and hitting women... Because I'm dark and mean that way **SUSHHH*** ... But I'm a feminist so it's ok as ALL my abuse is consented by the submissive victims. We even have safe words - **go me** - Hi 5's all round!


Scene 3: I'm the heroine and I hate my mummy because she took me from my daddy BOOHOO. And even though she doesn't do anything, because she's so beautiful (like me) she managed to marry a REALLY rich guy so now we're rich. But I don't take his money because I loved my daddy. BOOHOO.

Scene 4: The heroine doesn't realise her daddy WAS A BAD MAN. And that her mummy being so beautiful deserved a RICH NICE MAN like my daddy. She should be punished - BY ME!! But she's my step-sister so I can't do that BOOHOO.


Scene 5: oh no my ex douche of a ex-boyfriend is threatening to blackmail me with Revenge-Po*rn. I have to give him $60k otherwise it will ruin my SUPER RICH step-daddy's political future. Of course my ex is poor and with no honour. My amazing RICH Step-brother The Hero will save me!!

Scene 6: I WILL SAVE HEROINE! I'm so rich, nice and a feminist BDSM Master. She will be my sub. But I'm not taking advantage of her (**even though she worships the ground I walk on and is heavily influenced by me**) BECAUSE unlike that 50 Shades of Grey character I'm a feminist and a legit Master who's only play-acting !!!

Scene 7: My step-brother The Hero is so amazing!! I love him so much. He is God. HE KNOWS EVERYTHING. And is so good-looking. I will do EVERYTHING he asks because I'm a good little brain-washed submissive. And he is RICH, GOD & GOOD.

Scene 8: heroine is so beautiful and she's kinda almost intelligent because she wants to invest loads of money and BE RICH. Of course not as intelligent as me **hahaha**

Scene 9: yes yes yes Hero is gonna make love to me and punish me and I have a safe-word so it's ALL OK. But I won't use it unless I really really really have to as I'm so submissive I wanna PLEASE HIM.

Scene 10: Heroine is so submissive! But it's all ok as I have a safe-word and even though she's a brain-washed bimbo who's heavily influenced by me, it doesn't mean I'm taking advantage of her even though she's so stupid and naïve. ***go me** Hi 5's all round!

I DNF'd by this point zzzzz

Perhaps it's because I'm not into BDSM (I don't mind bondage and a bit of $panking etc) BUT not all the play-acting stuff. It's so Naff.

I'm also unconvinced that the biddable blonde bimbo of a heroine was into the BDSM stuff either - she was just so submissive and looked up to the hero in so much awe (he was an adult while she was a young teen when they were first introduced) that it seemed she'd do anything he commanded - as though she was groomed for it.

It almost seemed even more abusive than the relationship she had with her ex. At least in that one she was in possession of her mind - with the hero she allowed him to do the thinking.

Then there was the delivery - the author spent more time trying to convince readers that her book was dealing with a real legit and consensual BDSM relationship with a hero who knew what it entailed that I was getting bored with it all.


Also the subplots were ridiculous with rich men being hero's and poor men being baddies. And of course the rich men go save the poor little women whether it's the heroine's mother or the heroine.

DNF at 40 %. I would have stopped reading sooner, but decided to try to finish. There were several inconsistencies in how the two POV characters described each other and from what their actual actions said about them. What ultimately made me quit the book was the name she was starting to use for him.

I have been looking at and salivating over Lauren Landish books for awhile now so when I was offered an opportunity to read her books, I was all for it. I am a big fan of stepbrother romances, add in some sexy suspense and you have my little reading heart beating out of control. After reading Dirty Little Secrets, I immediately started on her other stepbrother book Survival that was included at the end. I loved her talent of combining the slightly forbidden, mystery and politics in Dirty Little Secrets. Alixa and Kade were the epitome of naughty, combined with the curiosity for the darker side and their love to keep it a secret to protect others in their life, made this story explosive and spectacular. Luckily I was traveling and didn't have to put down this book, as it would have been nearly impossible. Lauren has a flair for the dramatic and sensual darkness that made Alixa and Kade irresistable.

I took an immediate liking to Alixa Nova. Who wouldn't love a tall beauty who is down on her luck and trying oh so hard to put her life back together while resisting the undeniable attraction between her and Kade. She is drawn to and curious about Kade in all his darkness. She would love to take a walk on the wild side with Kade who is forbidden to her in every way. Kade is the only one that can help her during her time of crisis. Her world is spinning uncontrollably on its axis, between her psychotic ex boyfriend and her desires for Kade and her world is about to implode.

The super successful, responsible Kade Prescott has never been able to get his unattainable step sister Alixa off his mind. The dark fantasies that he has about her can never come to light. It could destroy his father's political career along with the rest of his world. When Alixa shows up with a beaten appearance, he knows that he will protect her at all cost. Kade is dreamy in every way. From the moment he was introduced in all of his gorgeous controlling ways, I was smitten. He is sexy, dashing and his darker side just makes him even more delectable.

Lauren Landish created a mysterious world full of deception, desires, and unexpected twist and turns that keep the reader holding on for dear life and giddy to experience what happens next. I highly recommend for lovers of forbidden, sexy suspense, and literary roller coaster rides.

WOW! This was a terrific Full length story by Lauren Landish. I loved the step brother angle. It was unique because the Heroine and the Hero didn’t get along while living together yet only later when Alix needed some help did Kade relent and did we get to really see this chemistry blossom and become super red hot.
Alix is a successful model yet she is being blackmailed by an ex-boyfriend who is also a photographer. Alix has doesn’t know where to turn because she has some unresolved issues with her mom yet she ends up turning to her step brother Kade and oh boy what a good turn of events that she does because out of that, her luck changes for the better in the romance side of things . Oh the chemistry was always there but for reasons shown in the story, they could never act on their feelings.
Kade doesn’t at first like Alix ; he realizes that he finds himself attracted to her as she has grown up and she is someone he really does like and wants to protect. Think shades of Fifty Shades ; of for Alix , she has always wanted to be a part of Kade’s life but he has always been such a jerk. With this horrible event in her life, she had no choice but to turn to him. With the threat to her life, he was there and the twists and turns that have come up, these two have found each other and now have to find a way to stay one step ahead of the threat to Alix’s life. Will Kade be able to do this? And will these two find their happiness?
I do want to say there are some sad and teary events in the story that will have you grabbing the tissues. But the ending will have you rooting for joy. I loved this story and the fact it is a complete story with *NO* cliffhanger. This was one erotic, fantastic, emotional action packed story that will keep you glued to your Kindle. I highly recommend this for your kindle collection.

I absolutely adore Stepbrother forbidden romance books there is just something so ridiculously sexy about them that draws me in. This is why I was ecstatic to read this book once the author messaged me!

Alix is a model who has resentment issues towards her mother for abandoning her father, but she doesn’t realize that there are secrets her mother has negated to reveal in order to cause her daughter further heartbreak.

Kade is the sexy older brother who hates the fact that his stepsister mistreats her mother and the cause of all his inner turmoil. His feelings for her are not very brotherly he wants nothing more than to have her for himself. A family weekend together after being apart for so long will change things dramatically, their true emotions are revealed and Kade will have to come to Alix’s rescue.
I enjoyed the suspense and plot twists that occurred throughout the story it brought on so many sexy interactions between Alix and Kade that I couldn’t stop reading. I loved how the author wrote in dual POV I was able to visualize and analyze the characters better and submerge myself more deeply into the story. The love these two characters expressed throughout the story was immensely addicting I loved every single interaction and the determination they showed to overcome each and every obstacle in their way. Kade and Alix helped each other learn to accept the secrets they each held and move on with their lives in order to love each other freely.

Such a great read I can’t wait to read more by this author!

Me costo mucho terminar de leerlo. Creo que estuve tres días con el.
Me gustan las historias de hermanastros y si tienen BDSM más, pero este libro es de un aburrimiento total.
La química entre Alixa y Kade es tan falsa. Las escenas de BDSM tan flojas y faltas de realismo. El argumento tan soso. El enamoramiento se supone que ya existía entre ellos pero las circunstancias los separaba, eso sí en dos días se convierte en amor eterno.
Ella una super modelo que ya no quiere serlo porque la inteligencia se le apareció de repente y él el macho dominante que tiene su oscuridad aunque nunca ha sufrido por nada en su vida. El drama con un ex novio y una madre que no acepta la relación para al final bendecirlos...

This is a great read about navigating a career in the spotlight, being in love with your step sibling, a dangerous ex/blackmailer and the management of navigating what others think, plus the dark chocolate side of sex.

Although more kink then most romances it gives a good basic touch on the subject of bdsm.

It shows what partners could be experiencing and how good it can be for each. It lets you know that not all control is a bad thing. And that there are soft and hardcore kink. That it's up to the couple or multi person relationship to decide how it works.

I liked the touch on the subject, I've had friends that partake but this gives you a general idea of things. In the end like the story it's all up to what you and your partner want to do.

For me I liked Dirty Little Secrets, even with the unbelievable story. The thing that is believable is Kade and Alix make mistakes, but are able to correct them. Kade is not your typical alpha male. He is not as arrogant as most which I liked. He has fought his attraction for Alix for years. When she comes to him for help he does not deny her the help she needs. As much as he wants to ask questions he doesn't. I appreciated this from him, most of the alpha males in these story start to grate my nerves. Liked the writing from both points of view even with some holes in the story. I like Alix character she is self deprecating, insecure and little naive even for being a successful model. I believe a lot of models have these issues. I did figure things out pretty early even when Syd was not heard from for a while I knew he would be back with a vengeance. In my opinion Lauren Landish did a pretty good job of writing a suspenseful, taboo, and erotic romance. I enjoyed the story and was entertained.

This is the first book I've read by the author and I wasn't disappointed. The author has a way with the writing to make sure you stay hooked. If you love step sibling stories then you will love this one as well.

Alix is a model and she is doing her best to not have to depend on anyone. She doesn't have that relationship with her mother but she still visit's her along with her new stepfather. She hasn't seen her stepbrother Kade in a long time but she knows better to stay away from him. When her ex tries to blackmail her, she has no choice but to let Kade in. She doesn't expect Kade to help her or even understand but he changes her thoughts. She can't help the feelings that form for Kade and wishes that he would feel the same for her. One day, Alix gets her answers from Kade and she won't do anything to jeopardize what they have. Things start happening and getting worse for Alix but the one person she can count on is Kade.

Kade has is own law firm and worked hard to get it. He loves his father and happy to see him finally with another woman. He can see how happy Layla makes him and only wishes that his stepsister Alix would treat them better. When he comes down to visit the family, he didn't expect to see Alix but he enjoys spending time with her. Once Alix opens up to Kade, he knows that what he thought of her was wrong and sees a new side to her that he never got to see before. Now, all his fantasies can come true if he just lets it happen. When he realizes the situation that Alix is in, he will stop at nothing to make it better for her even if they come out in public.

The characters come together and face battles together. The more you read, the more you will be on your toes. The connection between the characters is strong and the chemistry is hot! They both stick together and become stronger each day they are together. They will stick together and face everything side by side.

Great job to the author, I highly recommend.

Romantic, hot and surprisingly dramatic.

It's well written with a good pace and a double POV. From the beginning, it introduces the characters' background and lifestyle that allow to know them well. The beautiful model with a grudge against her mum, the successful lawyer who cannot accept that which he sees as an injustice. Yet their personalities still fee the pull towards each other. I really liked how they end up strengthening their bond. She's in danger and he offers a way out, but in doing so they fall in love.

Through a very painful extortion, Alix discovers new, tantalizing sides to Kade. I thought that his dark side provided some very interesting scenes as he' shows her this side of himself in clear yet respectful terms. And she melts for him. It was sweet actually. Very romantic to, the way he supports her and how close they become. There's a lot of character evolution to a mature and committed life, both as individuals and as a couple. Their dialogues reflect the deepening of their relationship. Family bonds play an important role in the plot as well as a violent character who really puts the stepsiblings in unimaginable danger.

The only thing that rattle me a bit was when she acknowledges Kade as her Lord and he's pleased with their special name for him. Yet up until that point, she's been addressing him in a way I really liked, Yes Kade, in a submissive voice, when they were in that zone. Then that new Lord thing came out of nowhere and puzzled me.

One of the best features of this novel is that it turns into a suspense romance full of hardcore blackmail, an almost James Bond-type of technology team effort and planning along with surprising drama and a hateful foe to defeat. Really entertaining, well-structured and wholly developed both in therms of plot and romance. Wonderful read.

Pretty standar plot, heroe likes heroine, but can't have a relationship with her because she's his step-sister, but then she gets intro trouble and he goes to rescue her and stops denying the attraction and they accept they are in love with each other and everything is ok again.

What I liked is that the characters are not as dumb as in other stories, for example when the bad guy blackmails the heroine she goes and gets the money, but she also finds a way to record him so she can have something on him, that's a really good move that 99% of the women being blackmailed in this kinds of books forget, that things go from bad to worse and she doesn't get a chance to use that before he publish a video of her, is another matter, at least she had a good idea and later that helps nail the guy when they finally involve the police

Some people is not happy with the light BDSM is because they think that fifty shades of grey is a bible on the matter, but in reality it comes in many shapes and forms (I have read a lot of different books in the matter, and not all follow the same script), and I actually liked the relationship with the two of them.

Is not a perfect book, but I liked how the story was handled, the characters made mistakes, but also good moves, they are not perfect but are intelligent enough to get the bad guy. A good balance between the usual really stupid characters and the super powerful I-can-do-it-all characters that no one can touch, with the balance the book ends up being something closer to reality and that works for me.

This is a beautiful love story that you simply must experience. Very little BDSM.

This was a good stepbrother story with a little extra spice. If you are adverse to the theme of BDSM in a novel, I don't think you need to turn this one down. There isn't anything hardcore in this book. The BDSM relationship was playful and intriguing, but not offensive. The relationship between Alix and Kade seemed a little like insta-love, which is fine with me. My detail oriented brain however would have like to have had more details of the past times they spent together and how those feelings came to develop. This story had me tearing up at a couple of shocking plot twists. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, it took a couple of sharp turns, keeping me fully engaged in the story. The characters were well developed, the sex was steamy and the story was entertaining, emotional and at times intense. Definitely worth the read.

This was so much more that a stepbrother romance story. It will grip you right from the beginning. There is some series suspense in this story. Kade had been added to my list of favorite alpha males. He is fiercely protective of his family and Alix. Alix is a model in need of some help. She is being blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend, Sydney. Oh, how I hated him.
Kade had a secret and was worried that Alix wouldn't accept him for it. Thank goodness for Rita.
The secondary characters in this story are amazing tot. I just loved Rita and her no nonsense attitude. Vince was Kade's right hand man.

This was a great story. It had all the up and downs. It was suspenseful. The BDSM in the story was not heavy.

This was a hell of a story and i totally loved it! You could feel the love through the pages between Alix and Kade... Beautiful flow and perfect characters!
Alix is a beautiful model but holds a lot of resentment for her mother from secrets that her mother has witheld from her to protect her daughter.
Kade is the older step brother who has hidden his feelings from everyone for 8 years but following a 'family' weekend get together, he discovers that Alix has the same feelings for him!
With huge twists and turns and major heartbreak, will they get pulled apart forever?
Will they get through all the problems and
get their HEA?
What will happen when the truth of their relationship gets revealed?
Will love be strong enough?

This was a first for me by Lauren Landish and it will not be the last.

This was pretty much everything I want in a book, romantic, hot, dramatic, sexy well written great characters and it has duel pov which I love.
This was a relationship built on respect, love, protectiveness, submitted respect. Kade has nothing but respect for Alix and wants to help her, protect her and Alix puts Kade on a pedalstal but is in a good way. They love each other and it shows but then I'm thrown and this whole story turns and I love it more. I was hooked from the start. definitely a must read.

My Tudor Rose...

Alix had no idea that the choice she made to be with Sydney was a bad one. She had no idea the evil he possessed. Stuck with no recourse, she asked Kade to help her out.
Kade had a unique way of dealing with his stepsister's close proximity. It worked until Alix saw first hand.

Though she thought he was gone, Sydney continues to be a problem. Alix has feelings for Kade but what will come of it?
