He can get away with anything…

Anytime, anyplace. Blake never has problems finding tricks, and he’s learned that half the fun is in doing it behind his boyfriend Todd’s back. But when Todd suggests a threesome to reignite their relationship, the opportunity to bring in one of his regulars and dupe his boyfriend right under his nose is too tantalizing to resist.

Todd loves Blake, but after Blake’s cancer treatments, it seems nothing Todd does can excite him. For six months, he’s waited patiently for his boyfriend’s interest to return, but it’s clear if he doesn’t do something drastic, nothing will change. In a desperate attempt to save their relationship, he suggests a threesome. He expects it to be difficult. He expects to get jealous. What he doesn’t expect is to have the hots for their new toy…and for both of them to want Blake out of the picture.

Devon McCormack

Devon McCormack grew up in the Georgia suburbs with his two younger brothers and an older sister. At a very young age, he spun tales the old fashioned way, lying to anyone and everyone he encountered. He claimed he was an orphan. He claimed to be a king from another planet. He claimed to have supernatural powers. He has since harnessed this penchant for tall tales by crafting worlds and characters that allow him to live out whatever fantasy he chooses. Devon is an out and proud queer man living in Atlanta, Georgia.

Devon's body of work ranges from erotica to young adult, so readers should check the synopses of his books before purchasing so that they know what they're getting into.

Let me say I wanted Blake out of the picture as well!!!!

I don't even know what to say about this one.

Twisted,
Dark,
Cheating,

M/M & M/M/M,
Something that is not even going in a spoiler,
And at the route of it all is Blake...I can't even go there....

53 pages of twisted smut but *whispers quietly and hangs head in shame*.....I loved it.Seriously, this most definitely won't be for everyone.....but I couldn't put the damn thing down.

So if you've got a hour to kill or are in between books and fancy something that I'm sure will be out of most people's comfort zone....look no further.

Before reading: Fuck that!

I'm coming prepared this time. :D

After reading : Holy shit...I think this was the most lubricated read I've ever seen from this author.

For some (or most), it'll be like this:

But for me it was like this:

#TEAMLUBE we're finally in something! *flails*
Sparingly but it still counts!

So let's say you skipped the blurb and the title...TRIGGERS: cheating, non-con, no HEA - no romance and the lead character Blake is a bastard. Actually, I'm unsure on his parentage so I'd rather call him a dingleberry. Because he's fucking mean.

And yet I laughed.

So who is the warped one?

Cancer survivor Blake has a pretty sweet life. He is cancer free, has a wonderful job, a loving and supportive boyfriend and seems to be a great life. But is he appreciative?

Nope.

The fucker thinks he's hot shit and loves torturing his younger boyfriend, Todd, mentally and sexually. And he especially loves sexing every other man other than Todd he can get his dick into.

And Todd is none the wiser.

Enter twinky college boy Kyle, one of Blake's side pieces, the masochistic bottom! (Was I surprised? Nope.) He gets set up into a threesome that turns into a love triangle that twists into something else. Now heavily dose this with fuckhot sex because this is Devon McCormack we're talking about here and you have a recipe for a twisty and edgy surprise.

Deviant at the end but surprisingly...light? I guess when you compare it to some of his other work. *coughs*Clipped*coughs*

I didn't see the ending coming (ha!) and I really liked it. For a short length, it left me satisfied. I have no burning questions that I need to bombard the author with. Everything really is tied up nicely and for the price, I think it's worth it.

My rating...4.5 stars because it made me laugh, groan and need to know more all at the same time.

P.S. This is my kinda of Santa jizz - no fucking Christmas sugar in sight! So if you're a reader in need of a break and want something twisty, erotic and you don't need romance, this might be for you. (I say this as I've only read one Jizzmas story so far this year and I needed it LOL)

P.P.S. In all seriousness, I want to thank my not-so-secret Santa (M), for gifting this to me! You're awesome!

I do not know how to rate this !!!!! It is shocking , but yet refreshing :D. Kind of slap stick ?
I will return to this review :D

So, I went away and decided the best way to tackle this review is via a poemmme :D

Cheating Bastard

Oh Blake
you are a nutter
get your mind
out of the gutter
Where it is
snuggling along
Side a fetid,
crazy pong.
You had the perfect bloke in Todd
he even had a tasty bod!
But your tastes
went A-mile
Messing up your bed
for lovely Kyle
What you did was worse than smelly feet
You creepy, scary, bastard cheat

4.5

Well, that was fun. Best 99 cents I ever spent. You should really check out this novella by Devon McCormack. CHEATING BASTARD is well-written, thumping with adrenaline, and sexy as hell. The main character is a dick, but hey, where do you think the title came from? Devon McCormack has a gift. It isn't easy for a writer to keep the energy level up all the way through a story, from beginning to end. But he did it. And the ending was like -- THUD -- did I really read that? Now I have to dig up some of McCormack's other stuff. By the way, the cover is perfect too. Just as sexy and hot as the story inside. No kidding. Try this book. I bet you'll love it.

After Chaper 1 I thought I should write my review WHILE reading it.

I DON'T F***ING BELIEVE BLAKE!! Is this guy for real?!

Blake is a lying snake! (Why do I even read a book titled 'Cheating Bastard', LOL. I shouldn't be surprised)

And Todd...just shut up. Your overanalyzing your relationship with Blake just has the guy run in the opposite direction anyway.

Luke?! This story seriously shocks me. Please don't tell me there really are people like Blake!!

Now Kyle's POV?! Is this story a test of how much you can make a reader squirm?!

I feel a First Wives Club type of plot coming on!!

This is just terrifying. That's not romance and not erotic fiction - that's horror!
And where's justice in that ending?!

No way!

I love how Devon's brain works, well was working until I got almost to the end. The writing was great! The story flowed very smoothly. I wanted to wrap Todd up and take him away and find him a better boyfriend. I felt bad for Kyle just as much. That flippant butt muncher that claimed to "love" Todd needs to be in another book and get his butt tore up in prison!!! Yes I was left in a prissy mood at Blake! I hate him with the biggest passion I have ever hated a character ever!

I can't wait to get my hands on more of Devon's work!! Absolutely love that I found him through another friend! I love how different this story was. It added some spice to my usual type of books. I love having a book like this to squeeze in to re-freshen my mind before tackling a longer book. Way to go Devon!!

I have to think about this.

Okay, I have thought about it.

I AM EFFING HORRIFIED!

Okay, so this was completely unexpected. Terrifying to me at times. Funny at other times.

It is never actually said but I think ....

It is going to be a 1-star to loads and loads of people. I can't help but think the concept is almost genius in its simplicity!

I've read one other book by Devon McCormack. It was an NA book.....

I like a twisted read and this slow-motion train wreck is twisted.
Holy fucking fuckery! I didn't know whether to laugh, scream or be sick when I got to the end. I was expecting some revenge. I was not expecting that shit!!! (I've never cursed this much in a review but seriously.. WTF did I just read!)

Bravo Devon McCormack. Bravo.

Smut. Yup. That's what this is. Twisted, light smut. Oh, and there's a cheating cheaty cheater.

I like to think of this title as my Christmas release, because it features a big "ho ho ho."

Oh fuck, you've got to be kidding me. Nooooooooooooo. Goodreads ate my review. Right at the end. Now I'm feeling stabby.

Are you sick of the cheerfulness of the season and sweet Christmassy books? Here's your cure, Cheating Bastard.

Okay...this book is erotic writing but it's more than that.

One MC, Blake, who transcends being a freaking douchebag to being King of the Douchebags, makes you feel appropriately pissed off. Todd, his boyfriend, is a decent guy, and you know that saying about nice guys? Hmm... it seems it may well be true.

I’m going to enjoy this. Watching my boyfriend fuck one of the guys I’ve been cheating on him with. Neither having a fucking clue. Especially since I can tell this is the last thing in the world Todd wants.

I do love having a character I can feel angry about when that's what I'm meant to be feeling. I like some passion and I got that.

Does the blurb sound interesting? Well, think about one-clicking it because this is a sneaky little mindfuck of a novella. Very well utilised 50 odd pages of writing by Devon McCormack. It can be your anti-Christmas read.

This is NOT a sweet, loving little book that will manage to firmly grasp your heart and hold it firmly for a hour. It 'contains violent, brutal, and sadistic male on male action that some readers might be uncomfortable with. This is a dark, disturbing story that pulls no punches. Although Devon McCormack writes romance, this is not a romance and does not contain a HEA. Look elsewhere for love because here there is only pain, darkness, and sadism.' - Amazon Warning
Okay, the genre romances can be too sweet, the sex can be too vanilla, the ending can be еnforced happy,BUT this......this ending is Downright Vile . I fully understand the author's intent, that is, to be unique, but this ending is a complete insult, and made me miserable and humiliated. It hurts like hell.

'I duped them all. The fucking idiots.' - said the Cheating Bastard
THE END

This book was a mistake. I never should have read/bought it and therefore I wouldn't have to give it such a terrible review. I hate when that happens.

*** 3 Stars***

This short story is available on Kindle Unlimited.

Cheating is not a theme that puts me off, I've read a few stories about this so sensitive matter before.

Not many but enough to say that somehow cheating bastards always end up redeeming themselves. But that's because I like reading romance, right? In other words: I like me some HEA.

Well, there was no such thing here.
The cheating bastard was a big Son Of a Bitch! *pardon my French*

And that end?

I’ve always been a big fan of this author, but this definitely sealed it. Not many can cover a story like this in so few pages and get it right. It was definitely done right in Cheating Bastard, in my opinion. You will hate Blake with every fiber of your being and you’ll adore Todd and Kyle. Like I’ve said in other reviews of Devon McCormack’s work, you might think you’ll know what’s going to happen, but I can assure you that you’ll be wrong.

 photo Cheating Bastard for Goodreads_zpsyd8xymhd.gif

I feel like I'm always putting warnings in my reviews of his books, but I can't not do it this time. This is not a romance. There is no sappy happily-ever-after. This is gay erotica with a few twists. If you're looking for a sweet story, this one won't be for you.

I loved the ending. Others might not, but I thought it was perfect.

Wow, this was…

Not a romance. Definitely not.
Not erotica either.
Horror? A horror story? Yup. That does it.

Cheating
Abuse
Rape

Blake is a sociopath. And Kyle and Todd are just clueless.

But the fuckery. Brilliant. And… that ending. More mindfuckery.

What a cynical tale. Dang. I wish it were longer. I wish I knew these guys better.

Or, maybe not.

Did I like it? Yes. And no. Will I ever reread it? Nope.

Will I ever forget it? Nope.

I’m caught in the middle with this one.

it felt like 90% of the storyline was just f*cking, but to call the book porn wouldn't do it any justice.

Don't waste your time or your money.
There isn't a HEA there isn't even a HFN, just a piss-poor twist and a crappy ending which just left me annoyed.
Would have given it zero stars if possible.
IF you are like me and reviews like this annoy you because you want to know what happened, read the spoiler next. BUT it will give the summary plus the ending and the twist at the end of this VERY short story.

Was I supposed to laugh? I laughed.

We were a few who buddy read this book and I didn’t even read the blurb before I started. I had no idea what I was getting into. I knew there would be cheating, the title sort of gives that away, and I think it was tagged as erotica when I bought it…it was still not what I had expected.

I wouldn’t call this book a masterpiece, and some will definitely hate it, but—and this might say more about me than the book—once I reached about 80% I couldn’t help but laugh. It’s just soo horrifying LOL

The main guy in this book is a fuckazoid! Blake my man you are one of the most easy to hate characters around. It's a cool change of scenery for my reading.
Maybe Todd was a bit gullible but people have a right to believe their partner is less of a painful hemorrhoid on love's asshole than Blake.

To steal a quote from the author on his review of one of my books.... I know this author. I read this author.

However, that doesn't matter. If ever there was a story written that I'd love it's Cheating Bastard.

First, there's Blake. He's the cheating bastard in the story. Then there's his boyfriend, Todd. Poor Todd. All he wants is a bit of attention from his boyfriend, but can Blake give him that? No. Everything is all about Blake, Blake, Blake.

Blake does his own thing. By that, I mean that he gets off on hooking up with as many guys behind Todd's back as he can. He does this while pretending to be unable to have sex with Todd. It's a thrill to him and basically a private fuck you to the man he claims to love.

Todd is the perfect boyfriend. He was there for Blake during Blake's cancer and treatment. He put his own life on hold because that's what partners do. Good partners anyway. Blake does his own thing, but the thought of good guy Todd doing it? No way in hell. Isn't that the way it is with most cheating bastards? Okay for them, but not the one they're "supposedly" committed to?

Desperate to get things back on track with Blake, Todd suggests a threesome. Maybe if they bring another guy into their bed it'll make Blake want to be intimate with Todd again. Todd doesn't really want to see his boyfriend have sex with another guy, but he's seriously desperate to do whatever is necessary. If it means bringing in a third, he'll do what needs to be done.

Of course Blake knows the perfect guy - his favorite trick who he hooks up with often, Kyle. The problem with Kyle? Todd and Kyle hit it off a little too well.

I know Kyle would do it, and there's something exciting about the idea of Todd watching us fuck, not having a clue what we've been up to. Totally oblivious. Of course, when isn't that moron oblivious? He's an idiot if he seriously thinks any gay man hits a dry spell. That's what I get for dating a guy in his twenties.

I think about ramming into Kyle, Todd watching us, jerking off to me making that boy scream out.

I can't say more than that, even though I really, really want to. ;)

This is not a romance. There is no HEA. It's pure erotica with a character you will love to hate. You will despise Blake, but dammit if he isn't the perfect bastard. I thought the ending was brilliant.

The sex is hot as hell (if you're familiar with this author's writing, you should know to expect pain and lack of lube....) The story? I absolutely loved it.

Well, fuck. I say fuck, son.

Not sure if I want to forget I read this or if I want more?

Blake's a fucked up fucker and yet he's entertaining in his debauchery.

Todd and Kyle hurt my hopeless romantic heart but Blake needs to check into the Hotel Cortez to meet Mr. March and play.

Just saying, dude.

Wow. Fucked up story was hella good and dirty and part swoony and yet, why the fuck do I want more of Blake? Because he's an asshole and I have a soft spot for assholes on the wrong side of humanity. *nods*

I may need to adjust my moral compass or just toss it out the window for good.

Who knows and who cares.

Am I right?

Um....I'm not sure how I'm supposed to rate this one? It was seriously fucked up....seriously.

This was dark as hell and made me feel all kinds of icky. If you are a fan of darker reads and don't mind some taboo elements then give this a go. It's a pretty quick read but it definitely packs a punch!

A delicious and delectable erotic gay thriller. It was a breath of fresh air to see gay characters that had foibles like everybody else. Though most would think I'm crazy, but I loved the character of Blake. He was complex and wasn't this wimpy victimized, forlorn character. The sex was hot and the plot was sucked me in. I will definitely be reading another of Mr. McCormack's novels!
