She can’t forget him.
The born rancher who stole her heart, her ex husband, the tough, tender father of her child… Tori Tyler can’t let Will Tyler go to prison for a crime that was a simple accident. But she can’t deny that her feelings for the man run much deeper than loyalty, and her desire for his strong, sure embrace has never died. He can’t let her go.

With the ranch in trouble and his freedom on the line, somehow fighting for her is the only thing that matters.

Another great read in Janet Daily's, Tyler's of Texas Series. Will Tyler drive away his wife, Tori, over eight years ago. He put his father and the love of his ranch before her one final time. He has never stopped loving her. They have kept their daughter, Erin, first in their lives and act as a family even though they're no longer married. One fateful night when an armed and deadly robber driving a motorcycle is on the roads around Blanco Springs. Will and Erin end up with a flat and a man meeting the description of the armed robber ends up dead at the hands of Will. It's clearly self defense but Will ends up on trial and is being defended by his ex-wife Natalie. Will has to prove his innocence but possibly even more important he has to prove to Natalie that she and Erin are what's most important to him.
Natalie is trying hard to move on an find a new love and she just might have. So why is it that she can't get Will out of her blood once and for all and take that final step in her new relationship. She has to get Will acquitted of these charges for her daughter, to save the ranch...but she deny it's because of her strong feelings for this man too.
A great finish to the series. I can't help saying that I enjoy a book and series that has lots of karma happening in it!
This was a really good read. I feel like Janet Daily, like Nora Roberts and Julie Garwood (for example), own this genre-contemporary romantic suspense. They do it so well and make it seem effortless. You can always count on them for a good, solid, fun romantic suspense!
One of my least favorite romantic scenarios is the couple who have been married/together years earlier then are thrown together, etc... after a long period of time. This was this book, and I was not really expecting to like it but I felt it was done really well. One of my favorite things in this type of book, is when the man has to work hard to win over the woman. This had that. So, I really enjoyed that lol.
Overall, a good read!
This was a review copy from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for a honest review.
This was just horrible. I know Janet Dailey is quite famous, but of the 90 pages I read, I hated almost everything about it. From the repetitiveness, to the evil for the sake of being evil villain (that held rigidly to old, worn out cliches), to the man who'd had several partners since his divorce but his ex-wife hadn't (because even after marriage/a child/divorce she's held to a virginal standard men aren't), to the easy way men other than the Tyler family were weak willed and manipulated, to the woman being angry enough to slap a man but still melting when he kisses her 2 seconds later. I have no desire to subject myself to more of it. This is 100% the sort of romance novel I dislike, start to finish.
Janet Dailey's books stand the test of time. Texas Tall, 3rd book in The Tyler's Of Texas series is captivating, riveting, and explosive. I have loved this entire series and this one just might be the icing on the cake. Revelations from the 1st two books are finally revealed. Devastation, resentment, and one mans life hangs in the balance. Will Tyler is facing the fight of his life, Tori his ex-wife is his only hope for survival, and the ranch is fixing to fold under. Only the ranch's "gold" can save it, but is the price to high when it's his precious daughter who might suffer. Then the unthinkable happens. Get ready for one of the most gripping books you'll read this year. Absolutely invigorating!!!
my good friend sent me this, said i would enjoy it, as it had suspense, excitement and lots of drama. I truly enjoyed the book, and was shocked to see the corruption from the sheriff and a attorney how they made up lies because the owners was out for revenge and even with them being in law and having to uphold the law, they didn't because they were afraid the dirty secrets were going to be reveled. glad it all worked out in the end and the one who thought they were above the law got what they deserved. as they say KARMA IS A BITCH and it will come back 3 fold and bite you in the you know what. I only gave it 4 stars because some parts of the story were dragging and could of been taken out. but all in all was very good.
Typical cowboy romance - the only reason I gave a 3 instead of 2 stars rating is because of the action in the last 50 pages. Most of the story was predictable. The characters are not unique. I keep tricking myself into thinking these books will be quick reads & then I become bored, set them down, and wind up taking forever to finish reading them.
Texas Tall tells the story of Will and Tori Tyler. They have been divorced for eight years, but because of their daughter they have stayed a close knit family (with plenty of tension throughout the years between the two divorcees). Anyways, fast forward to present day and now Tori, who is a lawyer, has to defend Will when he’s charged for murder after he kills someone in self defense.
I really like Tori and Will as characters, and I think it was smart for Dailey to save their story for last because quite frankly Will can be a bit of a stubborn ass. And not really for a good reason— I think it’s just more he’s the oldest, he is in charge of his family’s ranch, and it’s just sort of expected that what he says is what goes. I can see how this would wear on anyone, and I really liked that Tori didn’t bow to him (in the past or in present day). At the same time, she knew who he was and what his habits were so she picked her fights. I can respect that.
The actual trial/charge against Will was a little weak. There was never a doubt in my mind that it was self defense, and I think that was actually the point (there is some corruption in their town with the local sheriff and I think this was used to really highlight that). But as someone who likes suspense novels as well, I would have liked it to have not been quite so black and white.
And now for the good stuff: the love story. I loved the backstory on Will and Tori and how until this book, and not until the end, did we really find out why they broke up in the first place.
It’s funny because I just went to see the Broadway show Grease, and while I was singing along, I couldn’t help but stop and think that while I love the music the actual story sends a pretty crappy message. The fact that Sandy can’t be herself and dresses in skintight leather pants to get the man in the end doesn’t really send a great or realistic message to anyone about love. And I am not really sure what Danny took from it in the end, but I think it was supposed to be the fact that if you like someone you shouldn’t care what your friends think. But as previously mentioned Sandy turned into one of them in the end anyways so he didn’t really have that hurdle to face anymore.
The reason I bring this up is, my number one pet peeve in romance novels is when people lose themselves for their significant other- because to me that isn’t love. Yes, your significant other should bring out the “best of you”, but it should still essentially be you with hopefully a few less bad habits. What I liked about this novel, and for the most part all of Janet Dailey’s books, is the fact that instead of spending the novel trying to change one another or even themselves to find their happily ever after, the characters learn to give and take so they can both be themselves but not want to kill each other at the same time.
I’m not sure what else to say, without giving away the ending, but I will sum it up as: it was good; I will read it again; and Janet Dailey is still the Queen of Romance for me ;).
Texas Tall has all the hallmarks of a memorable story by Janet Dailey. This book is suspenseful, sensual, and filled with captivating characters! The villain is a she-devil with a penchant for targeting the weaknesses of male town leaders and exploiting these weaknesses to her advantage. Her vendetta against Will Tyler and his family drives the story with many surprising twists and turns that make it hard to put this book down until the very end.

An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was received free via Netgalley for an honest review.
I did not finish this book. I stuck it out to the 30% mark and still found myself unable to care about anyone. While I was certainly curious about how it would all shake out, my curiosity could not overcome the lack of feeling for the characters. I ended up hopping a bit through the book before reading the ending. I found it as compelling as the first 30%.
Of what I did read, some of the issues I can pinpoint include: 1. The love triangle. I'm generally not a fan and I found it less than compelling. 2. The family dynamics which seemed all over the place. 3. The way, even with scenes that are meant to convey (show don't tell) emotion, it just seemed to fall flat. 4. The complete evil that is the villain. 5. The ham-handed set up of the central issue.
I just never could get into the characters. The brief skimming showed me I was never going to get into the characters. There is a flatness the the characterization that I was never going to be able to move past.
Texas Tall (The Tylers of Texas) by Janet Dailey is a general fiction romance. I enjoyed the development of the characters. I also enjoyed the mystery and trials the Tyler family faced. I gave it five stars.
I received a complimentary kindle copy from Kensington Books and NetGalley. That did not change my opinion for this review.
Later than usual, cattle rancher Will Tyler picks up his pre-teen daughter, Erin, from a party and hits something in the road. As Will changed the tire, a helmeted man got off his motorcycle and started talking before he realized Will wasn’t who he expected and pulled a gun, so did Will. Erin stayed in the truck as she was told but peeked and saw the event. Weapons out, heated words exchanged and a shot. Will called his ex, lawyer Tori to come for their daughter and the sheriff.
Drugs make it clear the victim, Nic, brother of bar owner Stella Rawlins, wasn’t completely innocent in death. Especially with an armed robber loose in the area but Stella hates the Tylers enough to want them all suffering and Will in prison, no matter the fact results. She threatens to expose secrets that could ruin the careers and families of the sheriff and prosecutor if they don’t ensure it. As Will’s lawyer and aware of Stella’s hatred, Tori’s suspicious of the sheriff’s questions to Erin.
With help from Stella’s blackmail victims and freshly ensnared dupe dangling, Will is set to go to trial. ail. With the first part of her insidious plan giving Stella hope the rest will go as well, destroying the entire Tyler clan though nightmares haunt her of a plan that didn’t go as well. Ambitiously, the next step has the sheriff slipping deeper in Stella’s sludge and the prosecutor is also having second thoughts. But Stella’s still working her own game and pulls another into her tangled, insidious web. Rating: 4.75stars
I was a little disappointed in this one. Still was intense but there was too many times where it didn’t make sense. I know the other ones went over the top at times but this one even more so. Again, love the characters and the story itself. Will Taylor was wanting to buy back that little piece of lamb because they never sold off any land and at the same time for $100,000 that they owed they were going to lose part of the ranch. Bose wife had received over $800,000 from a secret bank account her ex-husband had before he was killed, they could of got the money from there. Also, Lauren Prescott had a lot of money that she inherited and could’ve helped out. Just a lot of things and make no sense. They finally caught the kidnapper at the end and had the hotels around it but yet she still snuck out the back of the hotel. Just got a little too much. They did not have to get that fake in the book, and I have not even spoke about the quart room experience. How to make them have a great story and all these little things I mention would not of ruined the book if they made it more real.
Enjoyable quick read, Tori and Will divorced many years ago, but with a shared daughter, neither of them proceeded with another relationship. They are always there for the other parent.
This story Will needs Toris help like never before.
Stella from the bar is out to avenge her brother’s death and she holds the Tyler responsible. The story sees some jealousy from Will when Tori has a man sniffing around her, there’s a stable fire, the death of a worker, some corrupt important community members and a kidnapping/child trafficking case and Will going to trial for killing Stella’s brother.
The thing I thought was funny was, when Tori drove in the storm to the ranch, it seemed to take forever, but no sooner had Will hung up the phone, hopped in his car and he was knocking on Tori’s door to sweep her off to bed..perhaps Will took the shortcut to Tori’s house!
Just getting ready to read the next book in this series.
I really loved this third book in the series. In the first book you find out that Will and Tori were married and that ten years later they are both still divorced and that they have a daughter Erin. They broke up mainly because Will's dad made Will put the ranch before Tori and she didm't know how to fight it.
Now ten years later they are both a lone and still in love with each other but can they learn to live together and not have the problems of the past. Will's dad is gone but Will inherited the ranch and it's up to him to keep it running.
You learn about how everyone is doing in this last book Sky and Lauren, Beau and Natalie, Bernice and Jasper. It tells about Beau's upcoming baby and how Erin and Tesoro are doing as well.

I did not think that starting the Tylers of Texas series would result in a loss of sleep...but it was soooo worth it! While this genre is not for everyone, it is my go to. Janet Dailey is right up there with Diana Palmer, BJ Daniels and other excellent authors that capture the western landscape, the people and culture so well. The bad people are really bad and the good are strong, loyal and loving. In all 3 books in this series so far, the writing, editing, storytelling, character development and suspense earned them a high rating.
It was great to see the main characters finally getting their priorities straight and for that witch to meet her karma. Life is good.
I really loved this book. It was a love story without smut. There were some trying situations and some that made your hair stand on end, some unsavory characters and downright nasty rascals but what a ride. I loved Tori and Will's story. Relationships are already hard and when you have to work through other's expectations only to realize that is not what you want for your life, and then go after what it is that you truly want for your life is what makes this story a winner. I won this book in a goodreads giveaway.
A wild ride for me. I enjoyed "Evil Stella" - I love when I can both relate to and dislike the villain in a book. Dailey carries characters forward masterfully as they grow and evolve in relationships and mindset. While a great stand alone book I did love following the characters through from the first and second book of the series "The Tylers of Texas". I really liked that there was just the right mix of drama, murder, and romance. A good read.
This is actually a re-read for me. Will Tyler, on his way home one night from picking up his 12-year old daughter for his weekend visit, hits something in a road. When he checks, a man on a motorcycle comes up and has a gun. He also pulls a knife. Will shoots and kills him. Turns out he's the younger brother of a woman who owns the local bar and is into criminal activities of all sorts. Will's ex-wife, Tori and a criminal lawyer, now sets out to defend him, to prove self-defense.
We returned to the Tyler Range as more adventures unfold. Tori, Will and Drew try and come to terms with who is the best for Tori but a case of self-defense or is it murder gets in the way. Once again Stella rears her ugly personality and goes after everyone especially the Tylers’. Will she ever get her come-upance? Still can’t call it a clean read but it is a fun escapism book and I just skip over the raunchy bits.
Tori and Will have butted heads since their divorce yet put their personal feelings aside to make family a priority. She's a lawyer and he runs the family ranch with his brothers.
Evil, spearheaded by Stella, the owner of the Blue Coyote, is once again the focus in this story. Family triumphs but the suspense and tension remains high as issues are resolved.
The Tyler’s of Texas bring about the feeling of what it means to be a close knit clan. Hard work, hard loving blend reality to this novel. Novel that has many tiers of excitement, betrayal and the justice one only finds innTexas. A page turning read that makes you look forward to the next novel. Janet Dailey just keeps getting better in a series about Texas cowboys and women who love them. I appreciate being allowed to review this wonderful book and hope that others will give this series a shot!!
This was really different from most of the plots in this kind of book. Usually the sheriff is one of the good guys! Not only is he being pushed to procecute an inocent character, but so is the prosecutor! It kept me on the edge of my seat! Tough book to put down!
This book is an excellent read. It will keep you guessing about what will happen next! It has mystery and it also has romance with all the farming and country life going on.
Loved this book! These characters will stick with me for awhile! Not sure if I’ll read the next ones because they seem to be set in the past. Also learned of the author’s passing:( Janet Dailey wrote some great books!
Five stars this was amazing and good book tells how people stays close to the landscape and precious beauty of the canyon and precious family members who loves each other!
This book had all kinds of action, I sat up in bed many times reading as fast as I could to get to what's happening next. I really hoped that two characters in the book had gotten caught for their bad deeds but I'm hoping it comes out in the serious, great, great reading.
