Avery Sloan is a young, beautiful girl who just wants to be loved and desired. Her sights are set on a gorgeous co-worker named Kash Kincade.
When they hook up, he knows how to push her buttons to keep her wanting more. She's completely addicted to him.
Is it Love or Lust?
Trying to keep work and personal life separate is challenging as she just wants to be claimed and appreciated by him, but he doesn't give her an ounce of his love which only leaves her to become his beck and call girl.
Will she accept him as is or will she walk away from the one thing she wants most.?
This is the first short story I have read that I have given five stars to. And I'll tell you why, because in the short 58 pages of this story, the author not only created a world that sucked you in but wrote believable characters, a complete story and some damn sexy scenes.
Avery has this attraction to a jogger who she sees everyday. He is amazingly fit and sexy and she often daydreams about him. You can imagine her surprise when she finds out that they work together.
Kash can't believe the girl he sees every morning, works at the same place as him, the same girl he has been fantasizing about ever waking moment.
They are thrown together on a project and Kash asks her to lunch. There is a mutual attraction and after losing a bet, Kash has to make Avery dinner. Everything changes at that dinner. What happens? You will have to read to find out.
Do office romances work? That’s the question two likable and sexy characters live out in this wonderful erotic romance. I found myself rooting for both characters as they fight their own jealousy and hurt feelings due to past relationships. Will they open themselves up to the possibility of loving again? Read this and find out.
What I loved about this book is that it's a story about a normal everyday couple that are co-workers at the same business. Enjoyed that the writer let you know what both Kash & Avery are thinking. Both are filled with insecureties and doubt about entering into a new relationship but can't resist each other too. I got hooked me from page one!
In this book Ms Dean proves that you can write steamy romance about ordinary people. Lust is about the amazing things you can find if you are willing to see the extraordinary in the otherwise unremarkable person next to you. It is how we normal mortals find love, the one thing that can bring magic to any life. The conflicts in the story are ordinary, even silly at times, but that doesn’t make the pain the characters feel any less real. What makes Kash and Avery extraordinary in the end, is their willingness to break the cycle, to listen to each other and understand where they are coming from. Ms Dean writes with a simple charm that allows the characters to shine and the story to unfold. I enjoyed this book.
The title of this book sums up the story line perfectly.
It is based on two characters Avery and Kash and the lust they have and share for one another. I found the way the author tells the story in the first person was inspired, and draws you into the characters lives. She does this by telling the story from Avery’s perspective, then later switching to Kash’s. This gives the reader an insight into how both are feeling.
This is not just a book full of wanton sex scenes, although there are plenty of those. But it is also written with emotion and feeling. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and will probably read other works of this author.
Every woman wants a man to be hers, to look after her and not take what they have together for granted. Every man wants a similar thing. To be appreciated. Sometimes in love there are misunderstandings. Lust is a wonderful short story on these very things, is it "love" or "lust" how can you tell when there is that instant attraction, then throw in work, how you do cope in that instance. I really enjoyed how our author developed the story, the action between the characters, the sexual tension was wonderful and the insecurities of a romance was captured beautifully. This is a first for me with this author and I will definitely recommend her to all romance lovers.
At first glance, one might assume this is your typical 'boy meets girl in office environment' story, but you'd be wrong. Thanks to the talented Ms. Dean and her ability to create believable characters and situations, there are sufficient twists, turns and trauma to keep you turning pages and caring what happens to Avery and Kash.
Crisp dialogue, combined with a dual POV which allows us inside the hearts and minds of both parties, makes this debut novel a notch above the rest and a thoroughly enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed this read! The characters were 'real' and for a short book, the author did a fantastic job building sexual tension. After I finished the book I wanted more and was feeling hopeful the story would continue.
This was one hot read Avery has had her eye in Kash for awhile watching him jogging past her house every morning and seeing him at work. Unware that Kash also fancies her, the go for lunch and a bet which ends up as Kash cooking dinner at his home. However Avery decides to just go for it and lunges straight in for a kiss which leads to alot more, one spicy read
