Excellent police procedurals these are! This one is very atmospheric, with a beautiful use of colour and terrific drawings, IMHO. There is exactly *one* panel towards the end that contains an inordinate amount of text to explain some of the plot points, but that may be beginner's clumsiness from Dodier, for whom this seems to have been the first album he scripted by himself. From what I've seen of the rest of the series so far, he certainly rid himself of that habit, and besides: the rest of the story shows an exquisite talent for pictural exposition, a really lovely sense of cinematic pace. And a rather unique blend of comic caricature and realism, in my view. I can't really think of anything that's not to love in what I've read of this series so far.
Here is another that had to be jellied into that time's FBBF (Franco-Belgian Below Fifty) page limit of tomes in a series. The lettering throughout is significantly smaller than usually seen- especially at the heavy exposition ending. Sure, this would have been better with more length, but he still did very well without any more (credited) scriptwriting help seen previously.
My favorite part was learning about the small Brittany island of Saint-Mathieu which Dodier mapped to my satisfaction!
