رائع ، استفدت منه كثيرا . اعجبني اسلوب الكاتب في السرد، والترجمة ممتازة جدا ، الكاتب حريص جدا على استيعاب القارئ وأهمية تذكره لما يقرأ، ينصحك وتجده يطبق النصيحة عليك مثلا كثيرا ما كان ينصح بأن تحافظ على انتباه الجمهور ويشير الى اهمية اعادة ماتقوله في خاتمة حديثك لتجعلهم يستذكرون ما قلته وأجده يطبق ذلك حرفيا حيث انه يعمل ملخص لكل درس في نهايته ويعطي نبذه في بدايته ليستوعب القارئ ويجعله متشوقا وبالرغم من تلخيصه في نهاية كل درس الا انه في النهاية لخص كامل الكتاب بطريقة سلسة ايضا! اعجبني انه لم ينسى شيئا لكل ما يخص كونك متحدثا بارعا وواثقا فقد جمع جميع الاماكن والمواقف التي تحتاج ان تكون فيها متحدثا ذكيا ومستمعا رزينا في كتاب واحد حتى المحاكم وكيف تحمي نفسك من الاخطاء فيها لم يغفل عنها واكثر ما اعجبني انه يطلعك على بعض اسرار عمله، مثلا في مقابلات العمل يفهمك الكثر من مقاصد بعض الاسئلة ويساعدك على الا تقع ضحية لبعض الفخوخ فتخرج منها شخصا لا يُنسى على الاطلاق.

a review from a lover so don't take it seriously. during the second reading, I felt like my heart was beating so fast as If I was in a race.. when it comes to me, it's not an ordinary book. I started reading it for the first time when I was 19. my life was in a mess. suddenly I found a bunch of books, then the instability hid away, and everything turned to be in order again. So, I wanted more of such books and less of everything in the world. Moreover, if you left a meeting with the feeling that you could have done better, you still have the knowledge, the ability to think and you are fully aware of the consequences of not saying certain things, but it still sucks. it hurts so much not to be that productive guy!. if you have some troubles using communication skills or you are a little bit shy. read this book. if you are supposed to give a speech or presentation you need to read this book.

Among those chapters that I found Ch12 Twelve - Handling Crisis Communications includes worth-to-note things that could be applied by many of us in daily lives to handle things better, easier and safer. Like "anticipate and define crises before they happen" is not difficult to understand but sometimes it's not always to be followed, especially in the era with signifcant constraints with time and cost. But I'd to refer to a quote "Fail to Plan means Plan to Fail". And history also tells that crises are usually "foreseeable", which means preventative actions taken beforehand does matter, otherwise there will be a price to pay for in someday and somehow. No need to mention that "cover-up" would only make the situation even worse therefore it's unpleasant to read the news recently about the emission scandal from one well-known automobile manufacturer.

Much of what this book recommends will probably seem like simple common sense, but as an easy way to start thinking through the different elements of effective public speaking, this book does a decent job. I wouldn't consider it the tried-and-true Bible of public speaking, an all-authoritative declaration of what strategies will and won't work, but in general the principles offered will, I think, improve most people's speaking ability if applied. The chapters are broken down by different speaking events so the reader can focus on the types of speeches that he or she is likely to give and ignore the less relevant chapters.

What I like about the book that each chapter start with a small paragraph that tell u the idea about the chapter,
And end with a summery about the important points that help u to be a great speakers
The reader can choose the chapters that he/she likes. No need to read it in a sequence. It's really helpful and practical.

The book conveys the impression that it will deliver more helpful advice than it does. I've given many talks since I read this book but have never gone back to it for extra tips. One stand out tip is the one it gives about how to command attention at the start of a speech on page 12.
