***Warning- Not intended for those under 18 years. Extreme language and sex.*** This book is part of a series - book 3
People think I'm a ladies man. On the outside I look like your typical stud who is only out for sex, but there is more to me than just my rocker persona. Don't get me wrong, I love to entertain the ladies with a grin to melt their panties, a body made for sin and fingers that can play a woman's body like they play my bass guitar, but there's more to me than what meets the eye. I come from a good, tight knit family who instilled in me to always go after what I wanted....
And I wanted her...
I had a heart full of love to give to one woman, there was just one problem, finding the woman who wanted it...
Until her...she was older, wiser, showed me things I had no clue about. Our relationship was supposed to be fun, until she took it one step too far and I realized I was way in over my head.
International Best Selling Author in the Rock Music category I'm a mother of two amazing kids, a lover of reading, watching tons of ridiculous TV shows, a passion in designing book covers and anything to do with designing on the computer. I have a love hate relationship with bread when going out to eat; a dreamer of exotic islands, would love to travel to faraway places, such as the Caribbean or Australia, and can be a bit crazy when it comes to Fireball Whiskey, but mainly, Margaritas are my go to drink.
I have really enjoyed this whole series, but My Melody is my favorite so far. They just keep getting better and better. I need Lyric's book soon. TJ West please write faster ;)
This is my first book by T.J. West and the first one I read in the Downtown series. I like a good rocker hero and Wayne Priest is a fun, hot, rocker hero. I like him. I don’t feel that reading this book before any other in the series left me guessing at all.
Wayne Priest is the sexy base guitar player in Jinx a new, up and coming rock band. They are at the point in their career where they are the opening act for well-established bands. Wayne knows how to play the crowd, especially the women. He is living happily, playing music that he loves with a different groupie after every show and then moves on to the next show. He loves his life as it is until he runs into Melody.
Melody stops by and picks up Wayne for a one night quickie but they both want more. The problem is Melody has a lot of baggage. She is afraid to love because she fears loss. She believes she has lost enough for one person. Wayne, however, touches something in Melody that lights a fire that sparks between both of them.
What I like:
The plot is well thought out and developed. The story moves at a fast pace and keeps the reader’s interest. I love the dialogue especially anything with Wayne. I like the comradery with his band members. They are tight and have a strong bond not only professionally but personally. The whole dynamic among the band pulls the reader into the story. They are sometimes confidants, sometimes funny and always brotherly. More than your everyday friendship. I like how this whole dynamic among the band members and support team plays out.
The couple twists in the story are unexpected. They came at perfect points in the story and the twists aren’t predictable. It gives the reader a realistic look at the life of a rocker on the road. I don’t feel comfortable going into these twists any more as they need to be experienced as they play out in the book.
What didn’t work for me:
It isn’t that I didn’t like it Melody throughout the whole story but she is one of those needy heroines. I just couldn’t relate to her in parts of the story. I understand her history and it touches my heart but I don’t feel her pain enough to get some of her actions. Melody’s development is a little loose in my opinion. This could very well be due to the fact that I didn’t read the first two books but I’m not sure that is it. I don’t hate the character and there are sections of the book that I completely sympathize with her I just want her root for her and Wayne from beginning to end—I didn’t for a time in the middle.
In summary this is a good book. It is good enough that I will definitely read more by T.J. West. If you are a fan of rocker romance, or just romance in general, you will enjoy this story. I recommend it. You won’t be wasting your time.
WOW! HAVE I BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK?! This is my first book by this author, I'm kicking myself for not reading her sooner, as I see that I have really been missing out! This story blew me away!
Wayne is the sexy bass player for a famous band, that his pick of women and he's not shy of taking them all. After a hot encounter with Melody after a concert, and he can't get her out of mind. When he finds out who she is, he knows he's going to make her his. There's one big problem, Melody has no desire to get caught. She lives her life in fear after some traumatic stuff happened in her past, and when things get serious, she bolts. Will Wayne be able to convince Melody to stop running?
OMG OMG OMG I can't say enough how much I LOVED this story. I have an obsession with rock stars, and the author certainly fed my addiction well. The character development is fantastic, with rockin secondaries that rounded out the awesomeness. A fast paced, original, and very well written story line flowS perfectly. The chemistry between Wayne and Melody is highly flammable that EXPLODES into panty melting goodness. T.J. West did a brilliant job keeping my heart racing cover to cover, and her easy writing style made this story highly addicting. It's different and refreshing to see the heroine making the big mistakes, and although Melody frustrated me to no end, I still felt her pain and fear clearly. I CANNOT WAIT to read more in this amazing series, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY and HIGHLY RECOMMEND to all!
Wayne Priest is not known as relationship material. He is an up and coming rock star in one of the hottest band, Jinks, and he has taken full advantage of all the perks, especially the bevy of beauties waiting in line for his attention. Melody Kruse does not do relationships or love. The only person she is even close to is her sister Harmony. Wayne and Melody meet and have a quick meeting of the bodies not even getting each others name. Only thing is, for the first time, they both have lingering thoughts of the tryst. Fate has a way of stepping in and they aren't such strangers after all. My Melody is fast paced, sexy, fun filled with a rollercoaster of emotion. It is well written and I love the characters of Wayne and Melody. Wayne is open, fun loving, family oriented, and caring a caring man. A rock star with a heart. Melody likes to have her fun but she is closed off with her emotions and keeps people at arms length to protect herself. She has been in a stalemate with life the last few years and needs to break out. There is more books in this series but this is my first and now I need to catch up. Good read. Great job T.J. West. I was given an arc for a honest review.
I have been a fan of the entire Downtown series but My Melody is by far my favorite so far. The characters are all very well written. The story is fast-paced, full of twists and extremely sexy. Wayne Priest is the uber hot bass player in the band Jinx who loves the ladies until the night he meets Melody by chance. As soon as her lips touch him, Wayne knows this his Melody. But relationships and love has never been something Melody has wanted. Opening up is something she is just not ready to do after losing her parents suddenly. Melody wants to run. Wayne makes her want more. Will his piercing blue eyes be able to repair the hurt in her heart? TJ West did an amazing job with this story! I would highly recommend this entire series!
T.J. West has done it again to me, she took me to new heights with Wayne and Melody. Things go from hot and heavy to heavy and hot for these two making you want to root for them and yell at them all at the same time. I've loved the Downtown series since Lucky and Faith. I thought for sure I couldn't love two characters of her more than I did June and Phillip, from Judging June, but Wayne and Melody whittled their way into my heart. Melody and Wayne meet in the most unusual way, one random sexual act, one night neither can forget. The chemistry between these two is as electrifying as Wayne's bass playing. T.J. West makes you feel, everything in her books, from moment one you are hooked and you can't help yourself, you get sucked into her world, and you never want to leave.
My Melody by Author T.J. West was amazing I fall even more in LOVE with this series with every book that I read. Wayne is now my favorite male in this series in all the other books he was such a slut but it is so great to see him as this caring guy once he finds the woman for him. He has the best outlook on life that the past should be in the past and should live your day to the fullest because you are not guaranteed time with your loved ones. I want to hate Melody but in all honesty I feel for her she just puts up these walls and is such a bitch because she is afraid of loving and losing again. I can’t wait for more of this series to come out.
The bad boy and the bas girl get a hea :) love it!!! I feel like Wayne had the short end of the stick in Harmony's Healing, so when he got his own book, I was super happy! He was so surprisingly sweet. And I loved how he was the one to open his eyes to love before Melody did. And poor Melody-dealt a shitty hand all her life, but with Wayne's help, she's able to get it all back. I loved their push & pull and how Wayne didn't give up on her and was able to help her (musically and with her heart). Such great characters!
Ok, somehow I goofed and totally missed out on reading Judging June and Harmony's Healing. I don't know how that happened. Oh well, just one-clicked both on KU so all good. I'll be reading them over the holidays.
Although I didn't reading the two previous books in this series, at no time did I feel lost in the story. Yeah there were times when other characters were mentioned that had me wondering but I never felt like I was, issuing anything pertinent to this book. It can be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed reading this and read it in one sitting. I loved Wayne's character. He had me swooning a few times. Melody's character annoyed me at first but that quickly changed as I got know her character more and learn her struggles.
The only thing that fell flat was the Scarlett situation. It seemed like an afterthought to add unnecessary drama to the story. It just didn't work for me.
Regardless of my little hangup, this was a great quick read and I can't wait to delve into June and Harmony's stories. You can also bet I'll be on the lookout for Lyric's story as well.
I've loved this series from the beginning and My Melody is no different! Tiffany did it yet again! I couldn't put it down, that's how good it was. from beginning until end the writer had my attention. I loved Wayne in this book so much. I really liked Wayne and Melody together, their chemistry was of the charts! the way both had loss in their lives, trying to deal with it. we all will know loss in our lives, early or later in our lives, and to deal with it is always hard. and when you find a love, will you fight for it or let your fear let it go... the way this story was written, left you wanting more. that's one of those reasons I'll always buy her books and she's become one of my favourite authors I'll always one click 'cuz she can capture those moments! My Melody's definitely worth the read. Oh, and don't forget those tissues :-)
I received an ARC of My Melody from the author for an honest review... So.. the whole Downtown series has been amazing since Forbidden Faith. I have been eagerly awaiting for the each book in the series. And I am really lucky that TJ West likes me and allows me to read them for an honest review. So Forbidden Faith was just hot, and each book has gotten hotter. My Melody is the hottest one so far. Melody meets Wayne one night at one of his concerts, from there he can't get her out of his mind. Melody is always running. She can't let herself just stay with one person. One night with Wayne makes her feel differently. Each of characters are so well developed. Each one of them has their flaws, but they work so perfectly together. The whole Downtown series is an absolute must read! My Melody just blew me away...

In this book we discover the awesomeness that Is Wayne Priest, bassist of JINKS. His family background is solid with parents that taught him to live his life to the fullest and also were there for him supporting him in fulfilling his music career dream.
Melody is a very sad and tortured soul, loss has taken a toll in her life, damaging her spirit and loosing her hopes for having a successful music career.
This book is one of my favorites from TJ West. The way she worked this two characters help you not only understand them, but feel the things this two are going through. I love Wayne, he is my favorite character in this series so far. It is definitely a must buy. Congrats on an amazing job.
TJ West did an amazing job with her third installment in the Downtown Series. It was an emotionally charged, action packed, and hot sexy romance that left me wanting more at every turn. The story had a nice even pace and was very well developed. This made it east to connect with the characters as the story unfolded. If you're looking for a great rocker series that will leave you breathless and looking forward to the next installment, this is the one for you!
Wow, really hits the heart, Melody has so many issues from her past, Wayne has such a big heart, when he sets his sites, and he falls, he falls hard and with his whole heart. He meets Melody, unknowing who she is wouldn't matter, she had his heart, it was just longer for her to realize the same. Great story, her working through all her history, and struggles to get where he can open her heart to love, and Wayne to give her the time! Great amazing story, a must read.
I devoured this book in just a few hours, it was that good! I love Wayne! I loved him in Healing Harmony and loved him that much more in this book. He is totally head over heels in love with Melody. It totally consumes him. Melody is so in love with him but won't let herself admit it. I really enjoyed reading this book and the back and forth between Wayne and Melody. TJ West can certainly pour emotion and hot sex into her writing! Another fabulous addition to the series!
Holy moly Wayne Priest is a sexy alpha! Melody has a problem, she's a runner. When she gets backed into a corner she runs away. Thank goodness Wayne doesn't give up too easily. This is a fun read. Their back and forth keeps you flipping the pages.
I am loving this series... This book was very interesting had me hooked from the start... Not gonna lie Melody (main female character) annoyed me at first but After awhile I liked her character... I just love Wayne he is swoon worthy. It was well written and the storyline was awesome. Loved all the romance can't wait to read more of this series
This is a very emotional book. Wayne and Melody are so much alike. Both are players and have had rough times when they were younger. They are so good together but they both fight it. Love the ride that their feelings take. The ups and downs are crazy. Love the rest of the band also. Can't wait to read the next one.
We met Melody in the previous story, she is Harmony's sister and in a bit of a funk. Life has not turned out how she expected it at all. She's a love 'em and leave them kind of girl. She's off the tracks and just not sure how to get back on. Wayne is the male Melody. There's too many ladies to love to lock yourself down with just one...until her.
There is the back and forth and I'm actually pleased with the time that one of the characters spent in Vegas...they needed it; needed to find what made them happy. Was I happy about the way they got there - Nope! I loved Wayne's family. It's great when you get to meet supportive parents. I loved the advice they gave to our couple.
~SHY~ In book 3 of this series we have Wayne who is the ladies man of the band, and Melody who is the older sister of Harmony from book 2. We get bits and pieces of these characters in the previous books, but now we finally have their story. These two have an unconventional first meeting. And from that moment they can't stop thinking about each other. They don't see one another for a few months, but when they do, their story really begins to progress from there. In the previous books Wayne was the member who loves to laugh and joke and is a big fan of the ladies. He didn't really seem to have much luck with them in book one (and it was pretty funny when he struck out), but with the growing popularity of the band, he seems to hear a lot less no. Melody once had a promising career in music until her parents were killed in a car accident when she was 20. She put her dreams on hold to look after her then 10 year old sister Harmony but always intended to pursue it later. However when she injures her guitar playing hand she feels her dream is over. She then sinks into a depression, stops working, and relies on her little sister to care for her.
So let me start of with the things I liked about this story. The plot was good. Playboy rock star meets free spirited older woman and now has to convince a woman to love him when previously they came so easy to him. I love stuff like that. I also like Wayne. He may have started off a bit rough, but he quickly grew on me. From his first visit to his parents house and interaction with his niece I was a fan. The supportive secondary characters were also good. I like still getting to see the couples from the previous stories and how they played a part in this story. The writing had a tenancy to get a little over board in describing how hot Wayne or Melody were from the other's eyes, but I was able to get through it.
Then there were the things I didn't like so much. First was the insta-love vibe. They were in love with each other from 19% into the story and I didn't at that time see why either of them thought they were in love. Their interactions to that point had primarily been about their great physical relationship but nothing else. Their relationship ultimately built to the point were I could see the love, but not as soon as they were professing it. Then there was Melody. I had an issue with her in the previous books and the fact that she let her sister take a job that she never should have been forced to take to provide for them and never tired to seek help for her depression if for no other reason than to take the burden off Harmony. Then there was just her overall treatment of Wayne. I know that she was scared to love and lose, but I never got to the point where I felt she redeemed herself. She made a lot of selfish decisions and in the end I just never warmed up to her.
That being said the story telling was good and Wayne was great which allowed me to finish the story and think it was pretty good overall. I just wish the leading lady hadn't been so selfish so often.
I've loved this series from the beginning and My Melody is no different! Tiffany did it yet again! I couldn't put it down, that's how good it was. from beginning until end the writer had my attention. I loved Wayne in this book so much. This is Wayne and Melody’s story. Wayne is the typical, cocky, bass guitarist of the band JINKS. He is consumed by his love for Melody, but she isn’t ready to admit her feelings for him. The two of them have an amazing and electrifying, sexual encounter. It’s the story of a playful playboy and the older free spirited woman. I’m a super romantic person so I love the whole “insta-love” thing – mainly because I’ve personally experienced it. This is an awesome book – you have GOT to start reading this series if you haven’t already.
I have really enjoyed the whole series, just couldn't wait to jump into the next book. the story just keeps getting better and better and the characters even more fantastic. cant wait for the next one. defiantly a must read series
