Ending up in the throes of love and passion is inevitable. And as a vampire, heightened emotions means the following things: emotive lust, destructive obsession, and downright crazy love. But it is only when vamps fall for humans when the real drama begins. Jezebel may have gotten the boot from Louie for stealing, but her inclination towards thievery continues. That is until she meets Steve. But how long will her kleptomaniac tendencies stay at bay? And how long will it take for her newfound on-again-off-again love to discover her vampiric origin? Things are about to get hot and heavy and not to mention, messy in Michigan.

PIERCE is a VAMPIRE SERIES. Each novella is approximately 15,000 to 25,000 words long. Although you can read each vampire book as a stand-alone, characters from one book may appear in other books. Therefore, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you begin with NOVELLA 1.
PIERCE SCHEDULE:
December 7, 2015:
Pierce: A Vampire Series: Novella 1 Pierce: A Vampire Series: Novella 2

Love is always crazy for everyone, once you catch the bug. You can’t think straight, make the right choices, all because of the infection known as love. <3
However, if you don’t already know, for Vampires, everything for them is already heightened. Therefore if they happen to fall in love- it too is much stronger.
Now imagine fighting the odds of a relationship, and then double it. That’s how it is for a Vampire. Once a Vampire falls for a human, and yes they can and have- that’s when things get real! Not only do they double, but it’s just a whole new ‘I want more!’ experience.
So, here we are in Michigan, the state that gets all of the Seasons. Hot, Cold, Wet, oh wait, My bad. I mean-Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.
Firstly, this novella impressed me even more than the first. Jezebel is a rebel, and I totally love her name, it is so fitting of her character too! She is a kleptomaniac who has problems controlling her tendencies, and those very tendencies seem to hinder more than help.
The money she has been surviving on, was stolen from her last boy friend. And once it runs out, stealing isn’t helping her make ends meet, therefore she must land a job. Well, maybe this could be interesting and fun. Let's hope so.
At her new job she meets Steve. The thing is, can she stop stealing long enough and keep her Vampire self at bay long enough to keep this relationship? I mean after all, those both are her favorite things. And should she turn him into a vampire, or will he even want turned into one? Decisions, decisions….
I give "Pierce" book 2 five stars, because I totally fell in love with this one even more. It was much more entertaining than the first. This series is so intriguing I just couldn’t put it down, I read it in like a half an hour, and then re-read it again. This book is truly enjoyable, and made me smile, because I could truly picture everything perfectly, and felt like I was right there. You truly need to read this series, it is exceptional!
Before I get into my review of this book, I want to throw out there that I have not read Pierce: A Vampire Series: Novella 1. In the anthology the author recommends reading book 1 first, giving you a link to Amazon, where it is free, but she does say it is not necessary to read book 2 (which I agree with). I just wanted to throw that out there. That being said, I wasn't all that impressed by the writing in this book. It was pretty straight forward and almost cookie-cutter-ish. There are no frills or embellishments to enrich the story. This book is a pretty quick read. I'm not feeling incredibly driven to continue the series, but I might consider reading book 1. The book ends in a mild cliffhanger and a semi-HEA ending. Jezebel (vampire) and Steve (human turned vampire) are definitely happy in the end, but there are other central parties involved in the book (such as Steve's mother) who are not so happy, leaving it all up in the air a bit. One thing I can say is that I am interested in the Chris (vampire) character who appears at the very end in Vegas. I assume he is involved in latter novellas in the series, which is a bit of a draw for me to continue. Something I enjoyed is that the humans were at least semi-aware that vampires existed. They even make a vampire defense kit that you can buy, provided you have the money for it (I really want to find out what's inside it; they never really say). I give this book 3 stars.
This is the second installment in the Vampire series and I'm loving reading these stories! Each of the books in this series is a standalone novella and can be read as such. However, I strongly recommend starting with the first one and working your way through since it'll not only allow for a better understanding of the entire story, but they're great reads so why not? Overall, these are great vampire stories and I highly recommend them to anyone. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
