This boxset contains Book 1, 2, 3 & 4...The complete series.
Kylie Walker is from a small city north of Toronto, Ontario. She loves to write contemporary romance with a whole lot of steam and suspense that will keep you guessing and wanting more!
After reading and enjoying the Scarred Series, I found this one to be really really disappointing...a painful train wreck actually! I almost stopped reading a few times. Angela was rather naive and quite frankly dumb and not the type of character I enjoy. I did not feel the connection between her and Steve, which made for boring. In fact, Thomas the psycho roommate had more of a role than Steve throughout the whole book. I didn’t enjoy the continuous drugging and raping part and Angela ignoring the signs evident and then making excuses. But I forged through to find out what would happen. After all the build up the ending was weak, disappointing, far from believable and extremely rushed. I would also like to mention it’s not very well written. It is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors and the storyline is jumbled and lacking at times. Which leads to several inaccuracies (time lines, days, weeks, and next week really means weeks away, it was annoying) you may pick up on it if paying attention. I honestly started skimming and flipping pages just to be done. I don’t like writing negative reviews typically, but in my opinion buyer beware!
This series began with a woman, Angela trying to get over the loss of her husband. She moves in with one of her best friends, Thomas in another state to hopes of moving past her emotional baggage. Only there a few weeks and not really looking for love she meets Steve, a rich guy she wants nothing to do with even though they have a strong connection from the start. Angela starts her new job and learns that her new boss linked to Steve. She tries to fight her attraction, but Steve has other plans. Meanwhile Thomas has been in love with Angela for years and harbors his own twisted secrets. As he sees Angela gravitating towards Steve he steps in and try's to get her for himself. This was an unsettling story with what the characters are put through. Overall a good series.

Wow these books are action packed. Poor Angela has been through the wringer. Loosing her husband and moving to a new town to start over. Her friend Thomas has been there ever step of the way but has ulterior motives. Steve is a playboy but he is brought to his knees when he sees Angela and what he wants he usually gets. There is instant attraction but a sad twist comes into play. Obsession and just plain creepiness comes along to twist everything up. Can what they have still hold them together.
This was a good story but there were rape scenes that could definitely be triggers. I wouldn't have read this had I known about that but had to know how it ended. I will definitely check out more books by Kylie.
This book was horrible. It was the worst book that I have ever read. This book is so predictable. I have no idea how people like this book. I guess I was deceived in thinking this was a good book.
Really enjoyed this book and I finished it in one day.. but I have admit some bits made me feel sick to stomach( triggers about date rape). the new found love and the mentally ill best friend who tries to come between them
3.5 stars for me. It was a good story line. Some major twists in the end you don't see. There were so many errors that were distracting (a final read through from an author that would catch the wrong words). It was a quick read and I enjoyed it.
Another great book by the talented Kylie Walker! Never let down by her writing. I don't want to give away to much but there are some triggers in this book for people that have been in abusive relationships. So be prepared to lay the book down and take a breather.
This was quite a series. Angela was starting over after her husband died from cancer and she was moving away to start over. Her starting over meant staying briefly with her and her now deceased husbands best friend Thomas. The author takes you on quite a journey and a roller coaster of feelings throughout. Couldn't put it down!!
I liked this box set because it was a little dark and twisted. The villain is so disgusting, you can't help but read on. Definitely have to warn you - there is a rape scene and implied rape scenarios. Yes, gross. But, there is a HEA. Yippee!
This was another roller coaster of a ride. It starts a few days after book 1 left off. Well there is definite tension brewing between Angela and Kim-her boss. Can someone say sabotage? Another big thing in this story is how Thomas is acting…very strange and scary-Joanne and others have commented on it but Angela doesn’t see it---YET. And as for her and Steve—well, it takes awhile for them to get their way back to each other because of the incident of what happened . There is some major twists early on in the book related to Angela's boss and her ties that she has to Angela's roommate , Thomas. Something scary is going on with him and how he views her...something isnt right with him. He gives off a scary vibe. Thomas does something that causes some repurcussions that will vibe on down thru the rest of the book..Let me say be prepared, fully prepared-It wasnt anything Steve did but what Thomas did... Note: There is there is sex involving GSP (Date rape drug). Consent was not given.
What is Thomas going to do next? What is going to happen between Angela and Steven? Will all survive this intact or will there be heartache ahead for Angela? Only thing I wish was there was more interaction between Angela and Steve before this terrible incident between Angela and Thomas… otherwise OMG . this was pure suspense and psychological torture –I felt so bad for Angela— She is all for giving people second chances and all for trying to do the right thing but this is a pure mindtrip of a book that will make the reader, such as myself start going back to read for clues and you might just find it where you least expect one...As for Thomas,I was yelling at my kindle, for Angela to get the heck out of dodge. There is so much more going on. Thomas is motivated by the desire to possess/own/hurt the one thing he really wanted to have to begin with. This story took a purely dark tone and I was on the edge of my seat again—Angela is trying to find out what has been happening with her and what has been causing her to be so sick;
This book moves as rapid pace and there are seveal players in play...the end will have you on the edge of your seat. I loved the end of the book and cannot wait to read what Ms. Walker has next.
My rating: 5.0 stars *****

This was a really great series. The characters are well written. I got a really good sense of each one. The story flowed nicely. There wasn't a time where I felt that the story jumped to far ahead. Romantic, erotic, suspenseful, intriguing. It's a great read all around. Angela, a widow of 8 months, moves from Miami to L.A. to try to restart her life. She goes there because one of her and her husband's best friends, Thomas, lives there. He helped her get a job and she can stay with him til she settles and can get her own place. Also, her best friend, Joanne is back from traveling so they have a chance to reconnect. She's got two really good friends to help her move on and get past the devastation of losing the love of her life. Right after she gets to L.A., Joanne takes her to party and she is approached by a gorgeous man. They only spoke for a few minutes. She made it clear she wasn't interested but that didn't stop her from thinking about. He unexpectedly pops up a few more times. He even seduced her in the supply closet at her office. She finally finds out that he is one of the owners of a race car that is her account. She had only met his sister so far. Her and Steve hit it off in a big way. They care so drawn to each other. But, alas, as in love stories, there are forces that try to keep them apart. A friend who wants to be much more than a friend. A crazed obsession. And a psycho. Like I said, you get it all in this series. Happy reading!
It is a great series that will keep you on the edge of your seat guessing what will happen next. I read it as it was released individually and I hated those cliffhangers. Now you can read it all at once without that wait. It does take some really dark turns. Someone she should be able to trust is not who she thinks he is and when you hear his thoughts it is pretty frightening how he has hidden so much madness under his "normal" exterior. She is fortunate to find a man who is in it for good regardless of the challenges and obstacles they face.
I chose this rating because this was a really great series. A few of the characters were very scary, but all were very interesting. The book was very interesting. I couldn't put it down. I read almost the whole series in one night. I was so glad Angela got rid of that psycho Thomas. Her and Steve could stay together with know more problems from him and Kim. Great series. I recommend this series to all romance and mystery readers.
First, I'm glad I got to read it all at once, would have made me crazy to wait till the next one came out. Second, OMG Thomas is one sick mofo!! Third, I really enjoyed the story. It was a little anti-climatic, ended quickly.
Otherwise, I really enjoyed the writing, the story flowed nicely. This is my second Kylie Walker book, I'll look into the others! Glad I found her work.
I started reading the first part of this story in another book. And when that first part ended I had to read the rest of it. There was so much going on. And I had to ask myself many times throughout the story how naive is she. Angela turned a blind eye to so many things. Never wanting to hold someone she considered a friend accountable for their actions. This rings so true in many relationships. I was just ecstatic about the ending. Great story. Very engaging
I enjoyed this story and was glad to read it all in one hit. Angela did seem naive to Thomas's behaviour and at the beginning I could see why but once the alarm bells started ringing she completely ignored them. However, Thomas was her friend and he was very dear to her and she didn't want to think badly of him, even though he was a very sick man. I like this author's work and look forward to reading more of it.
This series was a little hard to read. I know it had a warning attached, but to rape someone repeatedly without their knowledge...yikes! I think Angela was also too naive for my liking, I mean come on, how did she not put it all together sooner.
This was an intense and emotional that will definitely have you on the edge of your seat. It's also full of lies, deceit, betrayal. Even with all chaos there also a love story. So if your into dark suspense I totally recommend that you get the series a try you won't regret it.
I enjoyed the story but did find the end to be a little hurried. I would have liked the ending to be a little more detailed so I would have felt things were truly wrapped up.
This series is filled with several facets of friendship from the deep unconditional loving one to an even deeper and sadistic one. There is also romance, mystery and love. The series deals with adult themes and real issues affecting women. I couldn't put it down!
the whole premise of this story is upsetting. mostly because it could happen in anyone's family. life is not tidy or fair, its complicated and dirty. you just have to navigate the maze.
It was real good I love the characters in this book. They have a lot of depth to them. My only problem was Angela's denial over and over about Thomas that's it.
