What would you do if you were a down on your luck bulldozer operator, sans hero, who just wants a beer and a chance to enjoy it. He saved thousands of lives, even the bloody planet, got elected as President of Mars, and they are still shooting at him! Go figure!
Excerpt from Hard Spaces:
First, I got sent to prison for something I didn't do! I told ya I was having lunch at Charlie’s! Then you send me on a one-way trip to bloody Mars! I mean really, Mars? Why not just send me to Sing-Sing? It was so much nicer there. But Mars was a death sentence. Then the disaster struck and I had to play the big hero saving everyone all by myself. Well, I did have Jessie helping me here and there. Okay, Gus did show up later and really helped out. But I was the hero, ya hear! Now I am stuck on a damn spaceship headed to Saturn and stuff. Where is the fun? Where is the joy? And where the hell is my bloody beer?
Enjoyable, action packed, and a quirky sense of humor. You won't find this to have the greatest finesse you've ever read ( a few typos, grammatical errors and technical flaws) But you get a glimpse of the author's personality as a unique artist and I love that.
