Kate. Her Return

Rate this book
Humanity has always been fascinated with legends of vampires, witches, werewolves, and the supernatural in general. What if the world’s mythologies were connected and explained by beings called Nephilim (children of angels and humans found in Genesis 6)?

Kate Johnson begins her journey as a typical high school senior in rural Pennsylvania. Her biggest concerns are how to pay for college, her art mid-term, her recurring nightmare about the day her family died, and the mystery woman who saved her from their fate. After an interview with a mysterious organization called The Alliance, Kate is thrust into the supernatural world of part-angels called Nephilim. She discovers the identity of her mystery woman – Catherine, the first generation Nephilim for whom she was named and learns that she is the seventh generation of Catherine’s line. Now Kate must decide whether or not to embrace her birthright and become nearly as powerful as Catherine.

I did not write Bulletproof Diva, although I kind of wish I had. Another Lisa Jones wrote that. Please see my blog on the challenges of being an author named Lisa Jones. I have been a journalist for 25 years, specializing in the Rocky Mountain West, but also covering crime, food, travel, spirituality, geese as pets, swamp coolers for cars and the hazards of dating biologists.

My writing has appeared in High Country News, Orion, Smithsonian, the New York Times Magazine, Tin House, National Public Radio, the Burlington (Vt.) Free Press, the Denver Post, the Christian Science Monitor and the Tico Times (in San Jose, Costa Rica, where I worked for a year.)

She lives in Colorado with her husband and two cats. Broken: A Love Story is her first book.
