The Eleventh Dimension

It was with a strong sense of melancholy that 29 year old Amy Olson entered the supermarket that day. Her best friend, Meg, was away. Amy's parents were gone, almost 5 years now. Her life as a first grade teacher was rewarding but also predictable and, recently, very lonely. Things were about to change. Into this very ordinary setting walks Joseph Rossini. A handsome soldier who was just at the right place at the right time. Amy and Joseph fall in love and start down a path that takes a decidedly unexpected turn. They could not have foreseen the most unusual events about to unfold. Joseph's disappearance, the unlikely allies of Sister Celeste Marie and Sister Jude Rita, and, of course, the unfathomable skills of Beth Rossini. An unexpected journey-sometimes a fairy tale-other times dark and frightening.

Christina Forte lives in Hammonton, New Jersey. She and her husband Mike have been happily married for over 45 years. They have 2 sons, Michael Jr. and Alexander, and a grandson, Michael III. While she attended Glassboro State College, (now called Rowan University), Rutgers University, and Villanova University, she is quick to point out that as a grandmother, that was "some time ago". Christina says her greatest educational experience is life itself; that's what inspired her first novel, sixty-five years in the making.

I really like paranormal suspense novels, and this one definitely fits the bill. If you also enjoy the paranormal mixed with romance this book is for you! The writer, Christina Forte, is from New Jersey and the story is based in New Jersey. The major characters in the book were well defined and believable. The story actually leaves you "on the edge of your seat" regarding the journey and safety of the main character, Beth. Story contains many twists and turns that will keep you guessing and turning the pages!

The Eleventh Dimension is a fascinating tale of the ability of some exceptional people to engage in conversations and activities in their minds with others who are present elsewhere. Exceptional children who have friends that their parents do not 'see' but who are totally real to the exceptional child, and totally real in existence. Sometimes those others are no longer alive, or may be in a coma. These exceptional people may have or develop other skills such as 'traveling' to other places [in their minds] where they can see what is happening, without really being there.

I found these to be interesting concepts, and not at all difficult for me to understand and believe. The abilities are woven into some of the characters in this book and into an intriguing story that keeps the reader - at least in my case - unable to put the book down until the very end. And then wanting more. Hence, my 5 star rating for The Eleventh Dimension. .

Christina Forte is a most talented author and I only regret that it appears this is her first and only book. I certainly hope that she writes more and more.

The beginning of this book was a little hard to get through but the ending makes it all worth it! I hope there is going to be a sequel soon, I need to know what happened to Carl and what is going on with Beth?! I especially found this book interesting since it takes place right in my own backyard and even references my alma mater, Stockton! So cool :) excited to see what happens next.

Suspense and Romance

The Eleventh Dimension is an intriguing debut novel! It is an exciting exploration into the possibilities of another dimension while at the same time a poignant tale of first love. An entertaining story for all readers particularly young adults. Looking forward to the sequel!

The Eleventh Dimension is a coming of age tale as seen through the eyes and mind of a young girl, blessed and cursed with the gift of telepathy. This story has as many twists and turns as a river in the Pine Barrens, where the novel takes place. A good read for younger audiences with room for both sequels and prequels.
