Jacob and Lila are renegade vampires. They have broken away from the high society of bloodsucking immortals that feed on untraceable illegal immigrants in an exclusive restaurant hidden away in the industrial wasteland of East London. This is Knox's place; he's head of the vampires, Jacob's maker and ruler of London's underworld. Jacob runs a human slaughterhouse masquerading as a late night pub that entices students in - only for them to be eaten. Knox is unhappy with his protégé, warning him his actions will surely bring the attentions of the Priests - demon-killers sanctified by the Church... but Jacob ignores his maker and the deadly Priests pay a visit, killing Jacob's beloved, Lila.

Jacob escapes the pub attack and vows bloody revenge against the Priest that killed his lover, but when Knox reveals a secret peace pact between Vampires and Priests, his plans of vengeance become threatened. Jacob must discover for himself the limits of love, loyalty and retribution.
