Mary has only had the Witchblade for a few days, and already she's stepped on quite a few toes. Now the owners of said toes would have words with her. Fighting words.
Stjepan Šejić is a Croatian comic book writer and artist, known for his work on the series Witchblade, Aphrodite IX, Sunstone, and The Darkness among others.
This is the last issue I have, even if there are supposed to be 2 more out there. Just have to get my hands on 'em!
This issue kinda complicates things. Mary has found her footing, but then there's a whole new storyline and cast of characters introduces. Knowing what I know of the series, this made me sad. I don't think I'll ever get a conclusion to these stories, but I hope the 2 last issues will at least give me an idea.
The whole basement-scene really annoyed me, tho. You seriously think it cares if you want it or not? Seriously?
Never actually read the original Witchblade this relates to (I hear this is more like an alternate universe than a continuation or reboot), but I really like Stjepan's art style and humor and this work is no different. Bummer they ran out of support to continue the series. Reminds me a bit of the 2014 run of Ms. Marvel.
We don't learn a whole lot more but this was still an action packed issue that introduces a new character (or an old one from another series of I have my facts straight) plus all the amazing artwork that goes along with it.
More questions, more action, and more to look forward to in issue #5.
