K.L. Novitzke brings us a wonderful tale of vampires in her new series - Bitten Bride. Maxwell, is a vampire currently stalking his dinner or more so his bride. Charlie is his unsuspecting mate, she is an overworked party planner and doesn't even know that Vampires truly excist, oh and yes indeed she is completely human. Turns out that every vampire is assigned a bloodline and Charlie is his.

I really enjoyed the way that Charlie fights falling for Maxwell. He even has to hyponotise her to bite her so that he can keep her safe. Even in her attempt to fight him off the story is very realistic - it's not insta love/lust it's a slow build. Then throw in some suspense and you have a great mystery that will keep you turning pages. Ms. Novitzke's characters are strong and well developed and her plot twists will leave you breathless with anticipation.

If you are in the market for a great paranormal romance/suspense - this one is well worth the time, be forwarned the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger that may leave you screamin for the next installment. Well done!

K.L. Novitzke created her own vampire world; one with her own rules. I liked that this story had its own twist to vampire attributes. She didn't use all the same traditional rules that we all know. I felt it made it more fun to read because I didn't know what to expect.

Charlie was unaware that vampires exist and is none too happy to find out that not only do they exist, but she belongs to one. Charlie's character is fantastic. I absolutely love her sassy attitude. Even in situations where most would not be using the attitude, she brings it full force. Maxwell has chosen her to be his bride, but she is not a fan of the idea and she fights him tooth and nail.

I enjoyed the little twists and turns that K.L. provided in Charlie and Maxwell's story. The little extra side events involving other characters that she added were interesting and set up the series to have so much to run with.

I enjoyed this book and would recommend you read it!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

God I hope this will be a long series because K.L. Has left the door wide open for it to be one. I fell in live with the book from the start and stayed up way too late last night trying to finish it. I want more!

I love how the story flows but the fact that Maxwell low-key stalked Charlie and then forced her into a life of vampirism makes me a little uneasy. I love the book and at the same time I wish it would've ended differently and that they had met and fallen in love differently.

Vampire Bride, Good solid start to a PNR series.

Max is a Vampire, Charlie is not!

Max has been stalking his ‘bride’ or ‘mate’ Charlie, and she has no clue that Vampires are real. Every Vampire are assigned to a bloodline and Max’s is Charlie’s.

It’s a good story, I just couldn’t connect well with the characters, I really enjoyed the writing. It was just falling a little meh in places. I honestly don’t like long books, this to me is a long book if I can not 100% commit to the characters.

Charlie fights her attraction for Max, and that’s cool and all but it can get tiering after a while. I really like when the chick in books or guy know about the paranormal world instead of not knowing the unknown.

These are all my opinions tho, so what I like in a story you may not or vice versa.

This was not insta/love it’s very slow build to burn with suspense and some good twist and turns to keep you invested to the end.

VB has good developed characters, and I did really like the idea of this story and I would continue with the others when they are released if the authors continues with.

I can’t let go of this story or the characters! As soon as I finished it I had that “what do I do now??” feeling.

Once I started reading this, I couldn’t stop. The characters are AMAZING!! I love that Charlie is an extremely strong character and regardless of her situation, she does not give up. Maxwell is scary but shows other sides to him as well. Together they make the story great!

Often times throughout this story, I found myself laughing out loud at the conversations going on between the characters. There was also a lot of nail biting, heart pounding, and tears welling in my eyes.

The author did an amazing job building a vampire world on her own terms. There were also a number of times that she could have taken the easy or expected way out of a situation but didn’t, which kept the story fresh and full of surprises.

When I found out this was the first book in the series I was so excited but I know I am going to have a hard time waiting for book 2. As soon as I finished this book, it went right into the “will definitely read again” category. You may want to buy two copies of this book and give one to a friend to read. This way, when you finish the book you can keep talking about it and live in the story a while longer.

Maxwell Barnett is a vampire, he is supposed to be sustained by one specific human bloodline from which he is also supposed to select a bride. Charlie knows nothing of vampires or anything like that so it comes as quite a shock when Max drops this bomb on her. And Max does not act very tactfully despite the fact he's been stalking Charlie and preparing for a year or so. I just couldn't get into this, the story seemed interesting but had no depth and all of the characters were complete jerks. Morgan, Charlie's assistant has her creepy boyfriend over to the office for an orgy or something...Juliet, the best friend, acts like a 12 year old because Charlie didn't tell her about Max, and they are really rude and mean to each other...Max says he wants to do the right thing by Charlie but overwhelms and mentally controls her when she doesn't behave according to his plans....and Charlie didn't really have a great personality but I completely gave up on her when, after witnessing a girl being fed on by a vampire she tells Max "I could give a crap if that girl leaves the room alive or not". And she calls Max a monster?! All of this was about 30% in and I just started skimming and getting more annoyed by the behavior of the characters so I decided to part ways with this one.

I am always hesitant to grab a vampire book as I fear the influence Twilight has had on the genre. However I was happy with what I got from this book. It was an interesting take on vampires and one that does to deter from the history of the monster. The back and forth betweeen Charlie and Maxwell was fun to read unfold. It was a good mix between a love story and a thriller. Folks who enjoy vampire stories will not be disappointed in this rendition.

I loved this book! It was longer than I'm used to reading but that's ok because I wasn't bored for one second! This story is about Charlie who is a party planner. She finds out that she is to be the vampire bride to a vampire named Maxwell. She does not take it well! She is very independent and opinionated. The whole book is about Maxwell trying to get her to accept her fate and prove he loves her. Read it! It's great!

This is a really good read. If you like vampires this is for you. You will love/hate Charlie. She got on my nerves at times, but then made me laugh at others. Now Maxwell, to me was a creep at first BUT in the end I just loved him. And felt sorry for him. This is really worth the time to read.

I can't wait to read the next in the series. I am so happy that I got to review this....

Good start

This book is well written and edited which is one of the most important thing for my interest to hold on. The story is not so uncommon or out of the world. There is a vampire who is searching for his bride and finds a very independent and stubborn girl. There is always a high council and a few villains as well as close friends. The hero and heroine are Maxwell and Charlie. The best friends are Morgan who is a also her employee and Juliet. Maxwell has a best friend in Grace and a whole bunch of enemies and not so well wishers.
What annoyed me most was Charlie's behavior. There is nothing wrong in standing up for yourself and being independent however she acts childish and stupid at times under the pretext of being independent. She at times feels jealous about Morgan just because she tends to be happy and tries t o care for her. Even when her safety is threatened she tries to ignore Maxwell's words of warning when she knows for a fact that the enemy is unknown and much stronger for her to deal with if need be. It finally takes the words of the villain to knock some sense in her about her horrible attitude... I didn't see that coming honestly.
All in all a good read

I absolutely enjoyed this novel. It focused on two primary viewpoints...Charlie and Maxwell. I enjoyed being able to hear the progression of this story from both POV, and I felt it added to the flow of the story. This was my first book by K.L. Novitzke, and I look forward to reading more of her imaginings in the future.
