Inside, I'm screaming in agony. But no one can hear me. My eyes are filled with sorrow and loss. But no one can see it. My chest aches with a thousand flames from the fiery sea of hell. But no one can feel it. No one but me. Shady. The man who was born with nothing, lost everything he'd gained, and has something he doesn't deserve. Life.

I went through the emotional wringer back when I read Sinner's Creed. It equal parts gutted me and left me yearning for more. I remember bawling like a baby at the end and thinking how tragically beautiful the ending was. And I also remember practically salivating to get my hands on Shady's book. The death of his best friend and brother left Shady reeling. The only thing that burns in his veins is his need for revenge. He won't rest until those responsible for the death pay for it in blood...rivers of it.
My anger is fueled by all that's been lost. Fury blazes in my eyes. Rage consumes me. Revenge is my only thought. Killing is my ultimate goal. Death is the only justice.

Shady is as calculating as he is lethal, and his plan for revenge is thoroughly planned out. It's what he sleeps, eats, and breathes. Nothing can distract him from his ultimate goal until a woman that's as crazy as she is beautiful demands his attention in a way that he can't ignore.

Diem, for lack of a better term, is batshit. *shrugs* No really. There's something seriously wrong with this chick and it was equal parts entertaining and infuriating. There were times where she'd do something that left me reeling and scratching my head. I mean, the woman shows up randomly where he's at, steals his truck, and basically moves into his house without so much as an invitation. But there's always something to her. Something that's just below the surface that constantly has you questioning if everything is as it seems...
He's under my skin. He's in my head. He gives me everything I never knew I wanted and then some. If I thought I was falling before, I'm sure of it now.

This was so much more beyond an MC romance. It's the story of brotherhood and a bond that reaches beyond death. Shady's unwavering loyalty to his MC and his love for his brother was evident in every page. I loved his connection to his fallen brother even if it was heartbreaking knowing what he's going through. His inner turmoil was palpable.

I also loved that while there's clearly sexual chemistry between Shady and Diem right away, it was almost a reluctant relationship. Both of them know they're chaotic together and yet they can't keep away from each other.
We're scarring each other.
Hurting each other.
Torturing each other.
And it's never felt so fucking good.

Admittedly, my one struggle throughout the book was Diem. I had a really tough time connecting with her character. She was just all over the place with her mood swings. She's a tough bitch, but at times it was almost too much so. I felt like I needed a valium every time I'd read another one of her tantrums. In parts it was entertaining, and in other parts it was just draining. There was one part in the first half that I thought could go somewhere, especially after the big revelation, but didn't. .

Kim Jones delivers one heck of a gritty tale with Sinner's Revenge. Her writing seems to get better and better with each new book and I'm definitely a huge fan. No one delivers an MC book quite like her and this book is further proof of that.

There's so much that happens here that I found myself practically incapable to put down my kindle until I finished. There are twists at every turn, some so completely mind blowing that it left my head reeling. And while I struggled with the first half with Diem, I devoured the second half with fervor. I highly recommend that you read Sinner's Creed first in order to truly appreciate everything that happens with the story. But mostly, I recommend it so you truly appreciate the epilogue. Damn if the author didn't get the waterworks from me yet again. I adored the epilogue here. It should have been slightly cheesy but it wasn't at all. It was beautiful and touching and gave me that final sense of completion that I didn't even know I was missing after the first book. Perfection.

Gritty, violent, dark, and brutal on the one hand, and full of emotion, brotherhood, and love on the other. This book was the perfect balance of all of those and more! I loved all of the secondary characters, I loved the intensity and I absolutely loved the ending.

Don't you just love it when a book loses all predictability and the outcome isn't what you'd imagined?

Kim Jones slammed the floodgates shut and in a new direction in this epic five star sequel. Is this the end for Sinner's Creed? Only the amazing author can answer that question.

Diem:

I’m giving him a warning. I’m telling him this is who I am. That bad guys don’t scare me. And that I don’t care if he’s no good for me, because the reality is, I’m really not that good for him either.

Off and on throughout the story I was in tears. Remembering Dirk & Saylor was very hard and emotional, the same is true with Shady & Diem. I feel like a lost puppy begging for a bone. So to the one and only Kim Jones....please please can I have another?

Oh, wow! I am so glad I picked this up.
Steamy, suspenseful, romantic, witty, intense... damn, this one has it all!
MC romance is my thing and boy this one was good!
I can easily say that this will be my top MC romance this year.
I deliberately did not read the first book in the series - Sinner's Creed, because I read that it didn't end in HEA... and that's just not my thing, so I read this as a standalone, even though it says that this is a continuation of the story. The writing is flawless so I easily connected all the dots.
I was hooked right from the start. This is one of those books that grabs you and won't let go.
Shady and Diem are two kick ass characters. Loved them both!
I am not sure what was better... their love/hate relationship or their dialogue. At times really funny, and at times quite angsty. Match made in heaven...or hell. I am not sure, but you won't be disappointed.
If you are a fan of MC romance, trust me, you don't want to miss out on this one...

Kim Jones. The lady knows how to write a compelling, in your face, completely captivating romance that's unique, dark, and leaves you craving more. Sinner's Revenge was a wild ride as Shady spirals down a very dark path of revenge against a rival MC and finds a little light and happiness in an unexpected and crazy woman who may just have a bit of darkness in her as well.

So 5 things about Sinner's Revenge...

>>>These two were fucked up. And a tad crazy. A bit growly and bitchy. Rude and in your face. And they're totally perfect for each other. They drive each other insane and fight and piss each other off and damn if they don't love every second of it. Easy going and tame...these two are not. lol They're passionate to the extreme. But I loved Shady and Diem. In all their nutty, crazy, messed up moments they won me over and had me smiling over them. They were seriously hot together, too.

>>> There are a lot of secrets being kept between them. Big ones. But this was a time when secrets were understandable and made sense. They kept what they were hidden and rightfully so. It didn't piss me off or have me shaking my head or ever saying "just tell them!" This is how the big secret trope should be done. There were also some surprise revelations that hit them both at the same time that I just loved. (and had me going oo! I did not see that coming!)

>>> There's a LOT of blood and gore. Since Shady's main goal in life is killing everyone in the rival MC club which had caused the death of his best friend there's a lot of death. Granted they weren't awesome people being wiped out but, yeah, that'll be too much for some. He's a killer. Flat out. There's a lot of dark in Shady. But there's a lot of dark in Diem as well that's surprising so they work.

>>> The book is mostly told from Shady's POV which I liked. It really felt more like his journey of dealing with loss and the need for revenge and moving on. There are chapters every once in a while from Diem's POV but they're sparse.

>>> I loved the ending epilogue. It tied in to the previous book and had me going teary eyed. There's a complete HEA and everyone lives--in case anyone was concerned.

All in all, Kim Jones has me on board for more. These aren't the romances for everyone--they're dark and gritty and the characters somewhat...shady--but if that's your thing they're fantastic reads that'll keep you up way into the night.

~~~notes~~~
7/21-- These two were fucked up. And a tad crazy. A bit growly and bitchy. And totally perfect for each other.
4/11-- Squeals!
Damn! Another hit for the Sinner's Creed series. This was such an intimate story as I followed Shady on his journey to seek revenge for his fallen brother. What he didn't expect was a sassy mouth, sarcastic, sexy but infuriating woman that would eventually own his heart.
The best part of this story was watching them fall in love while they fought. It was the best love/hate relationship I have ever come across. Their bickering and the fact that Shady had to constantly fight the urge to choke her out because she just got on his nerves... it was the most comical aspect of their relationship.
Diem was a strong woman. Controlled and put together. She set her sights on Shady the moment she met him. She just knew that he was the man that was going to change her life. Shady wasn't so easily convinced, but he had fun figuring it out. Their time together was never boring and got hot and steamy on many occasions.
The writing was impeccable. Kim Jones had the uncanny ability of conveying so many emotions with her words. I love the way she wrote both stories in this series. Though they're MC based. It's more about the characters than anything else and I loved it. For years Shady has lived his life for Sinner's Creed but now that he's found this infuriating woman he can't live without they're not his first priority anymore and he struggled with that change in position. Without them his life would have been so different, but without Diem, his life would be nothing.
An amazing story!!
Kim Jones should quit everything and just write !!
What a fantastic story it is. Dirk's side man Shady is a 1%er like him. He's boiling because he wants revenge for Dirk's blood . Death Mob is his target and he, along with Rookie and Tank , sets about meticulously eliminating them, few at a time.
He meets Diem in a bar , per chance , and the "Bitch With An Attitude" literally road rolls him and breaks his house to move in with him. She's the craziest bitch he ever met. Stealing and trashing his truck, gatecrashing his life and trying to poison him with her shitty cooking!!
and she's tough as nails, cold as steel, ruthless as a Don .
there's a hidden connection between her and Shady , which brings them all the more closer.
the story is raw and gritty but hilarious banter and some sassiest comebacks make it a real fun read.
Shady and Rookie and Tank and Clark shall stay with you forever , right along with Dirk and Saylor.
Grab this when it releases ..... or else Diem might blow your Pucking knees off !!!!!!!
See ya around, Pretty Girl Kim
"Revenge is my only thought. Killing is my ultimate goal. Death is the only justice."
Kim Jones delivers a gritty, sexy, fast-paced follow-up to Sinner's Creed, one of my favorite biker romances. This book packs a LOT of surprises and features a totally kick-ass heroine in Diem. The back-and-forth banter between Shady and Diem feels very real and is almost heartbreaking at times due to Shady's thirst for revenge and his dangerous, nomadic lifestyle. Kim Jones weaves an extremely satisfying story with Sinner's Revenge. Highly recommend this one for all lovers of biker romance!!
There are many kinds of anticipation when it comes to sequels. As I approached this book, I felt deep excitement that comes from knowing I'm getting into a book that I will love, gleeful excitement because just from the title alone I know I'll get a feeling of satisfaction from unfinished business, but also anticipatory dread. Dread because the first book gutted me and I now know what depth of emotion and engagement the author can bring to a story. And yeah, not even to double digits on the page count and I was sobbing my eyes out and unable to put this book down for love or life.
This is not a standalone, but a sequel that picks up where the first book left off though the protagonists are new.
At this point, I will put out a series spoiler alert. I can't get into the summary without coughing up the goods on the ending of book one so bear that in mind if you choose to proceed.
The book opens with Shady raw and filled with anger and hate after burying friend and brother. He will avenge Dirk and leave no loose ends. Fortunately, the club leadership agrees and allow him on semi-sabbatical to go and do what he has to do. Shady is joined by Rookie and Tank to help in his plan to bring down the MC that went after Dirk.
Shady's revenge work takes him to New Hampshire where he establishes an identity as Zeke an IT guy who works from home so that he can be right in the middle of enemy territory. But it also brings him into the orbit of one intriguing, hard, enigmatic woman, Diem. Diem is cold behind the scorching burn she unleashes when she wants. What she wants; she goes after and usually gets. The same could be said of him. He sees through her thick emotional walls and knows her like he knows himself. But Shady has a mission and Sinner's Creed is his first priority. That doesn't leave much room for Diem even though she is carving a place inside him whether he wants her to or not.
Diem spotted the cold, dead-eyed man some time before at the bar. He just doesn't give a rip and has no fear. He's coiled tight, but keeps it all under tight wraps. The man interests her as few ever have. She knows stone-cold killers and thugs, but this one is something special. She wants him. But Zeke isn't easy and she soon learns that his mind is as cunning as her own. She wants and hates him at the same time when he sees right through the facade that no one has ever seen beyond. This scares her. She is drawn in. He is mysterious and goes off to do mysterious things. She will have him and all his secrets, but will he have hers as well? And does he have it in him to want her?
This had the intensity of the first book though the characters are so very different in personality and how they come to love. At first, I was mystified about Diem, but whew boy did that twist and reveal about her explain a lot. Shady and Diem are drawn well. They are both dark, gritty, intense characters. Their romance is more a battle of the wills and nothing soft about it. They are one sizzling hot couple and the author's writing brings the reader right into their lives and bedroom.
The overarcing storyline of two motor cycle clubs on the brink of war over territory and goods while being controlled by the mob who will come down hard if distribution and profits are messed up leaves things in a shaky place. Sinner's MC Nationals need to replace Dirk with a strong 'Nomad' enforcer and they've tapped Shady for this work. Local clubs are slacking because their fear of Dirk is gone so Shady has his work cut out for him because he is no Dirk- he must do it his own way. There was some shocking reveals and shake ups with this part of the story, too.
And just when I thought the dust was settling, nope, this one wound things up again and delivered a whopper of a climax. I was turning pages hard and holding my breath as things went down.
The good news is that this one didn't gut me in the end, but I still cried a bit. I surely hope the author plans more from this series. Amazing stuff here.
All in all, this was no sophomore slump and held it's own after the magnificence of the first book. Those who want to be pulled in and engage with a hard, gritty biker romance should definitely give this series a go.
My thanks to Penguin Group for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Sinner's Revenge is my first Kim Jones book. Yes, I know this is the second book in the series, but from what I've heard about book one, Sinner's Creed , I wasn't in the mindset to deal with all the crazy intensity. Now, if someone had told me that I would truly love the weird duo that is Zeke and Diem, I would have laughed. Even by MC standards their relationship is not your typical love story. Their dynamic is contentious, odd, and it's probably borderline insane, but there was something utterly endearing about the love/hate chemistry that they had going on.
"I was playing with fire. But getting burned never felt so good."
Like the synopsis says, for 8 years Zeke aka Shady has dedicated his life to the Sinner's MC, but losing his best friend crushed him. He was set on getting revenge for the brother that he lost. I felt Shady's pain, there was no doubt about how he felt. His emotions and feelings came across easily. I loved his loyalty and passion to both his MC and his friends. He didn't want or need any sort of distractions from him carefully crafted plan. Meeting Diem was definitely not the distraction he needed, yet she constantly placed herself in his path.
Now my initial first impression of Diem was that she was a sweet, albeit a tad naive young woman. I WAS WRONG!! Diem was a fireball in a tiny little package. She was bold, brazen, and she could easily dish it out as well as she could take it. The mouth on that women. She made laugh and cringe. She could truly be intimidating but I liked her.
I  can't explain it but there was something about both of these characters that just intrigued me. Honestly I'm surprised the two of them didn't smother one another. Their banter was always an intense back and forth. They easily pushed each other's buttons because their personalities were so much alike. Yet, it was obvious that there was a true chemistry between them.
"There is no place in this world I rather be than in his arms, on his nerves, and at his house. He makes me feel like there is something magical inside me. He bring's out my worst, then contradicts with my best."
Sinner's Revenge was one of the better MC books that I've read. (Have I mentioned I'm super picky about my MC books? No? Well I am.) There was plenty of action, lots of sexy times, sexual tension, and an actual believable motorcycle club. There was a moment in the book that took me by complete surprise. Hell I even messaged the author about it. I really enjoyed the story and the Kim's writing. Now, was the ending a tad bit sporadic and fast paced for me? Yeah.. a little. Did it take away from my overall enjoyment of the book? Nope not really. Would I read the next book in the series? You bet your ass I would! Especially if the next book is on Rookie and Carrie. I'd be all for that.
Kim Jones delivered another mind blowing MC romance. Sinner's Revenge is the second book in Kim Jone's Sinner's Creed series and I recommend they be read in order. Each book features a different couple but the storyline in book one is important to read before reading this new release. Sinner's Revenge was crazy, unique, gritty, raw, violent, emotional and a bunch of other things I can't describe. I couldn't put it down and the storyline kept taking me on twists and turns that surprised me. You don't know what's going on until the end. I love Kim Jone's writing style and her ability to surprise me. Be careful reading reviews before you pick it up because you don't want to read any spoilers. I recommend this book for readers looking for something different. It's a great love story with grit. I can't wait for the next book. This series is like nothing I've read before.
For two years I readed 663 books. Some of them get my 5 stary because they were brilliant, emotionall, they have great charakters or storyline. But not once did I cry so hard like with sinners,s revenge by kim Jones. Not once I couldn't shake this filling from my heart and my brain. Maybe the storyline or charakters wasn't the Best i ever readed , Maybe it wasn't the best book ever but i couldn't put it down and i couldn't stop crying and sobbing so for emotions Kim 5 stars. Tank you... I have no idea how I will go with my Day now. . . I have a lot to do and i can't stop thinking about Dirk and Saylor....
Kim Jones knocked it out of the ball park with this up close and personal story of Shady aka Dirk. I was devastated after finishing Sinners Creed but this one made up for the sad feelings I had from that book.
When I grow up, I want to be just like Diem! She is totally a Bad Ass Chick! One who knows what she wants, doesn't take crap from anyone and comes across to all that she is the #1 in charge.
But is this what these two want anymore? This story is one of accepting which cards have been dealt to you and accepting the outcome...
Sinner's Revenge by Kim Jones
Shady & Diem
LOVED IT WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING
5 Freakin' Shady Stars
So, this is the second installment of The Sinner's Creed series and oh so damn good! This one is similar, yet way different than the first book. So many plot twists and much emotion that it kept me on the edge of my seat almost the entire time.
Shady is dead set on avenging Dirk and he'll stop at nothing to do it. His one track mind can't see anything but dead Death Mob members. That is until he meets Diem. His mind tends to waver a bit, but not enough to detour him from his original plan. He's mean, he's lean, and he's tough as nails. I fell in love with him in Sinner's Creed and my love for him only grew as I saw the turmoil he lived day in and day out.
Diem was a little harder for me to love. First there's the name... DIEM... what does it mean? Is it short for something else? Did Kim make this name up? Does she really know someone named Diem? These are questions I'll be asking Kim the next time I see her! Now, Diem came across as a little brash right from the get go, but once that major plot twist came through I understood more about her and came to love her with all the vigor and zest my body could handle.
The supporting character cast isn't too large. Rookie and Carrie make the story more interesting just with their presence. Rookie makes Shady's life seem funny sometimes and Carrie seems to keep Rookie grounded, which intern keeps Shady grounded.
Well.. I'm here to tell you that Kim has yet another excellent read here. The storyline is once again so compelling that I struggled to put it down. The characters are extremely powerful and keep you hanging on every word. The dialogue flows and the pacing is somewhat fast yet keeps you enthralled at all times. Kim creates plenty of tension and throws a huge plot twist at you that when you finally reach the climax you'll feel at the very least, spent! I loved it!
Awesome! This book was awesome!
I really liked the first book that followed Dirk and Saylor but I was always curious about Shady. So of course when I found out this book followed Shady I couldn't contain my excitement. The plot was great with two snarky badass characters that I loved.
Diem is a fiesty, sarcastic badass that you can't help but love. Even Shady/Zeke can't help but love her. She the woman every girl strives to be like!
Shady/Zeke is by far my favorite MC character so far. His love for his brother Dirk fueled his love of revenge but led him to the one thing he needed most...love. Of course, he's met his match with Diem but it works wonderfully.
God Forgives Sinners Don't
Shady's book! The one I waited for! My heart broke for him dealing with the aftermath of Sinner's Creed. Kim brings it in spades from the storyline to its characters. You cannot help but fall in love with them. They had so much depth. The storyline itself pulled me from the get go and I was at the edge of my feet waiting for the shoe to drop. Intense, passionate, and fierce. Don't expect rainbows and sunshine here because none will be had. It's what I would want in an MC story. Can't wait for more!!
Meh!
I think I like this story because the hero dedicated his life to avenging the hero from the first book...
But the romance just wasn't there for me. The heroine was a non stop ball buster. Loved Shady. Hated Diem.
So in essence I loved this because there was so much of Dirk and Saylor in it.
Sinner's Revenge is the second book in the Sinner's Creed series by Kim Jones. While this book could technically be read as a standalone story, I would really recommend reading Sinner's Creed first. This book picks up right after where the first one left off, and there is no way to talk about this story without spoiling any of that book. So if you haven't already read Sinner's Creed and plan to, you might want to stop here.
After losing the man that was both his brother and best friend, Shady is out for revenge. He has a plan and with club permission he sets out to take down every member of the MC that targeted Dirk. But what Shady can't afford are distractions, and when he meets Diem everything changes. While Shady knows that the only room for love he has is for Sinner's Creed, Diem gets under his skin and he can't stay away.
I really liked these two. I was excited to get to know Shady better here, but I was also a bit worried after how the last book ended. While I really enjoyed Sinner's Creed, It left me raw and emotional and I knew that would greatly affect Shady. He was determined here to avenge Dirk and to put his club first but he was so much more. He was intense and I thought that he and Diem were really perfect for one another. They were so similar in a lot of ways, and I just couldn't get enough of them together. These two had so much chemistry right from the start, but I really loved that their connection was one we got to see build and grow over the course of this book.
Overall, I don't want to go into too many details but this book was such a great story and I really love this world that Kim Jones has built. This story was so different in a lot of ways to Sinner's Creed, but yet that dark and gritty feel of the MC was just as present here if not more so. For those that didn't like the fact that there was not a traditional HEA present in Sinner's Creed, rest assured that there is one in Sinner's Revenge. To me though, both of these books are worth the read and I really think that they are most appreciated when read together. I think that if you go into Sinner's Creed knowing to expect more fiction than romance and can just read it for the wonderful story that it is, that you will enjoy Sinner's Revenge that much more. Shady and Diem's story is one I would highly recommend, and I honestly can't wait for more from Kim Jones. I really hope we get more in this series, because I am nowhere near ready to leave this world behind.
For me SINNER’S REVENGE was one of those books that had me completely hooked once I started. I really enjoyed SINNER’S CREED (book #1) which left a gaping hole in my heart, so I was on the edge of excited and nervous to start REVENGE.
Shady has dedicated the last eight years of his life to the Sinner’s Creed MC. After losing a brother, who was also Shady’s best friend, Shady will stop at nothing to Avenge his death.
With the approval of the club, Shady takes time and meticulously plans the deaths of the men responsible. While on his personal mission, he stumbles upon hot-headed, temperamental, infuriating, Diem. The one woman who keeps Shady on his toes.
**
I’m such a sucker for an action packed motorcycle club story. I love the rashness, the action, the romance, and just the overall setting. Hot alpha men with a sweet side for the women they love calls for a great story! Kim Jones brought Shady and Diem’s story to life. Their struggles and their personalities clashed in the best of ways.
Diem was so much fun to read. She was confident and alpha and had a mouth on her that could compete with the men. She definitely gave Shady a run for his money.
“I’m waiting for him to give me a smirk, or for his concentration to break. But his fierce gaze never falters. It’s like he’s trying to tell me something with his eyes— something I don’t want to hear. He’s giving me a warning. He’s telling met that this is who he is. That he’s a bad guy. That he’s no good for me, blah, blah, blah.
So I match his glare with a glare of my own. I’m giving him a warning. I’m telling him this is who I am. That bad guys don’t scare me. And that I don’t care if he’s no good for me, because the reality is, I’m really not that good for him either.”
I’m going to stop now because I don’t want to spoil ANYTHING. SINNER’S REVENGE had some scenes and situations that had my mouth falling open with shock. I’m generally a pretty good guesser when it comes to where stories are going, but this book had me stumped…and I loved every single moment of it. I hope Kim Jones never stops writing MC stories!
*I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Sinner's Revenge is the second book in the Sinner's Creed MC series, and it is Shady and Diem's story. Shady has been a devoted brother of the Sinner's Creed MC for years. He lived for the club, but that changed when he lost his best friend, Dirk. Now he lives for revenge, He will not stop until every member of the Death Mob is six feet under. When he meets a beautiful yet crazy woman at a bar one night, he has no idea that his life is about to be changed forever.
Diem is hell on wheels. She is strong willed and down right infuriating. When she and Shady meet, the attraction is instantaneous, but she drives Shady crazy with some of her shenanigans. What neither of them realize is how their worlds are connected. How will they react when the truth is exposed, and their secret lives are revealed?
I love anything that Kim Jones writes, and Sinner's Revenge is no different. The story line is intense. There is danger and suspense, but there is also laughter. The back and forth banter between Shady and Diem was hilarious! Truly, a phenomenal book!!
**Review of the audiobook**
STORY
In the sequel to SINNERS CREED, Shady replaces Dirk and Rookie replaces Shady. Aside from that, there hardly anything about this book is similar to it’s predecessor! This book is much more than a story about a MC! With mafioso and a badass female main character, this book is extremely unpredictable, entertaining and full of twists, turns and curves I never saw coming! And there are still lots of smoking hot sex scenes too!
PERFORMANCE
I listened to the Audible audiobook narrated by Sean Crisden and Lucy Malone. Luckily, Chrisden narrates the majority of the book, his scratchy, masculine voice being the perfect fit for Shady, the rough, brooding MC brother! Chrisden’s female voices aren’t half bad either! Ms. Malone on the other hand is not the best actress and her attempts at speaking for the men sound like cartoon characters. Fortunately, Malone’s portions are very minimal so listening to her parts wasn’t a problem for me.
This was so good! I liked the first book, but this one was just more refined and witty. It seems like Kim's personality showed more in this book!
Shady is on a revenge rampage. One of the other motorcycle clubs killed his fellow brother and best friend. He's decided to seek revenge and slowly kill the club off one by one. However, while on his mission to kill, he comes across Diem. He's seen her a lot at the bar he frequents and when they finally meet, the sparks start flying. But, it's not the usual sparks of love that fly but rather annoyance and hate. These two definitely have a love/hate relationship going on and pretty soon Shady's life is flipped upside down and he has no idea if he will make it out alive.
I have not read the first book in the series. I actually didn't even think it was something that needed to be done considering it deals with a different set of characters. However, I can see why you wouldn't want to just jump in on this one. While Diem and Shady aren't necessarily highlighted in it, there's a lot that happens in the previous book that are sort of the catalyst for this one. Not to mention that not only are the previous characters brought up a lot, but they are even mentioned in the epilogue for those who had fallen in love with them. So, while this can be read as a stand-alone, I definitely wish I'd read the first book before jumping into this one.
Now, let's get back to the story itself. This is the first book by Kim Jones that I've read and I wasn't overly sure what to expect going in. I mean, I've read MC romances before and they are hit or miss. It takes a lot to find that perfect balance. You don't want a whipped club member who's all badass but then turns into a pussycat when he find "the one." I don't know about you but I hate it when the guys does a complete 180 when he meets his match. Then there's the ones that are so horrible and brutal, and yet never change for the better. They never redeem themselves. They belittle the heroine, sometimes physically or emotionally assault them, and then just kiss it and make it better. Nope! I call bull on that. It's really hard for me to like MC romances because of this. Thankfully, the author was able to find that perfect balance for me. Shady is a killer. He has no qualms about putting a bullet between someones eyes or even torturing them a bit before putting them down. He's also not about to let some little spitfire come in and boss him around. However, he never raises a hand to her. They yell at each other, threaten each other, and then cuddle up on the couch and watch the western channel. They drove each other crazy but it all kind of seemed like subconscious foreplay. Best part was, Shady continued to kill. Okay, maybe that sounds wrong of me to say that but he was still HIM. He'd take off, do his business, and then come home and choke down whatever inedible thing Diem made for food. He was a likable character that had a very dark side. Like I said, she balanced his character out perfectly for me.
I'm not going to lie though, Diem seemed a bit off her rocker. She was always making deals and such in order to get a rise or get something from Shady. She had no idea who he was. I mean, she thought he was Zeke the IT guy but she knew he had a dead killers face lurking behind his eyes. And yet she still pushed his buttons. I was both exasperated by her and thought she was great at the same time. Which is why I think I was able to relate to Shady a bit because that woman always had you on your toes. After finishing the book, I suppose given her upbringing she sort of reverted back to her childhood and needed time to just goof around and not be so serious all the time. But still, she was one interesting bird.
Given the fact that I had not read the previous book, I may have missed a few things. I don't feel like I did but who knows. Maybe something went over my head. Either way, I still really enjoyed this story. I got this dark, gritty, MC romance that was kind of all over the place but at the same time perfect for the characters. Even though I know how things unfold in the previous book, I think I will go back and read it.
Sinner's Revenge was a really enjoyable read. It was able to mix the dark grittiness of a mafia run MC, a member who's on a warpath to death, and the dark angel who comes out of nowhere and kind of saves him. I wish I could say more but there are things that happen in here that I didn't see coming and they made for a really nice surprise.
Favorite part...
Shady and Rookie are at the clubhouse where Rookie got him a little "present."
"She lowers herself between my legs, slowly unbuckling my belt as she stared at me with her big, sultry eyes. That look is fake too. She's probably wondering what time her next appointment is. Or if she turned the coffeepot off.
I glance over at Roockie, who lays motionless with his hat over his face. How did he do it? Was Carrie worth resisting temptation?
'Quit looking at me, Shady. It's fucking weird. You getting your dick sucked. Look at her.'"
My anger is fueled by all that's been lost. Fury blazes in my eyes. Rage consumes me. Revenge is my only thought. Killing is my ultimate goal. Death is the only justice.
At the end of Sinner's Creed I was emotionally drained. That story and those characters ripped a hole in my heart and as much as it pained me, I loved it more than any other book I had read this year. Unsurprisingly Sinner's Revenge quickly jumped to the to top of my most anticipated releases and while it may not have packed the same emotional punch it didn’t disappoint.
Starting off following Sinners Creed, Shady has only one thing on his mind and that is revenge. Revenge for Dirk and for his club. Along with that revenge he is also dealing with some heavy grief. His anguish over Dirk and Saylor is palpable. You feel his loss, his hatred and his pain. The words that author Kim Jones wrote for Shady were so powerful that my heart ached for him.
Inside, I'm screaming in agony. But no one can hear me. My eyes are filled with sorrow and loss. But no one can see it. My chest aches with a thousand flames from the fiery sea of hell. But no one can feel it. No one but me.
With the support of his club behind him Shady sets off to follow through on his plan to take down the rival Death Mob MC. While hiding out in New Hampshire he meets Diem at the local bar. She is bold, calculating and beautiful. She infuriates yet intrigues Shady at the same time.
She looks like a snake that won't let go of you until her fangs are empty of venom. Then she'll smile as she walks away while you just lay there and die.
Initially I had a hard time with Diem. I think it mostly had to do with the fact that I loved Shady but I didn’t trust Diem. I thought she came across as too harsh, too much and I couldn't get a solid read on her intentions. I wanted someone soft and innocent for him. In all honesty I think I was looking for something more along the lines of the love story between Dirk and Saylor although I'm not sure exactly why. It did take a while before the idea of Diem with Shady started to grow on me and ultimately I was glad that I didn't get a repeat of the first book. Shady really is his own unique character and he needed someone who could challenge him and that is exactly what Diem did. The back and forth, love-hate relationship started to infect me, page by page, until I got to the point where I was smirking and laughing at the banter between the two. Once I fully accepted Diem and gave her the benefit of the doubt she really did redeem herself and became exactly what I wanted.
Kim Jones did a fantastic job yet again, writing an MC novel with all of my favorites - death, murder, love, lust and no apologies. Not only that, the book also had lots of laughs, a great plot twist that took me by surprise and some very tender and endearing moments. Kim Jones is an author I will be sure to read again.
There are many different definitions of love - she is mine.
Shady has spent the last eight years of his life dedicated to the Sinner's Creed Motorcycle Club. But after losing the man who was both his brother and his best friend, he has a new purpose—to avenge the death of the greatest nomad in Sinner’s Creed history.
His plan is flawless. His mission is simple: seek and destroy. There is no room for distractions—especially a distraction like Diem.
She's infuriating. Demanding. Complicated. Impossible. And for some reason, Shady can’t stay away. But he only has space in his heart for one love: Sinner’s Creed. And the club always comes first. Always.
My Review:
Heads up for anyone that hasn't read Sinners Creed - the first book in the Sinners Creed series, you need to start there before venturing into this installment.
This book picks up where the last one left off so if you don't know what took place before you won't understand whats happening now. Stop and start at the beginning.
For those of you who do know you'll really enjoy Sinners Revenge. Hot sex, violence, and a need to seek out and destroy your enemies from an anti hero you can't say no to.. it totally surpasses the thrill ride of the first book in this series. I especially loved the tit for tat arguments and conversations of badasses realizing that together in their intimate moments they weren't the badasses they thought they were.
I also enjoyed all the laughs I got from their conversations especially the discussion over buying the new comforter.
In the end Sinners Revenge was naughty, it was dangerous, it was exciting and it was fun. Its a great read.
After Dirk's death, Shady wants revenge on the Death Mob MC. The Death Mob MC ruthlessly executed Dirk while the Nationals for the Sinner's MC sat back and allowed it to happen because it for the good of the club. The Sinner's MC comes first and as a member it is a top priority. Logically Shady knows this but his heart says something different. He's beginning to question his life and his position in the Sinner's MC. He lost more than a fellow club brother, he lost a true brother of the heart. He lost his family of the heart when Saylor and Dirk passed away. He wants revenge for himself and for the Sinner's MC for being put in the position of sacrificing their best enforcer.
With the secret blessing of the Nationals and a few select brothers, Shady is on a mission of revenge. He has taken a six month leave with the agreement that if the club needs him, he will return and handle business. He's gone to the east coast undercover as a normal citizen and is slowly making his mark against the Death Mob MC. He's under the radar and living a life that's foreign to him. When he meets a sexy pharmeceutical sales rep in a bar, it appears completely normal. Diem is not your ordinary sexy single lady looking for fun. She's hard as nails, full of spit and vinegar, and a handful. She marches to her own beat and calls the shots. Shady is anything but normal himself. Together they are a war of wills, battling with sex, snarky banter, and one upmanship. Both are hiding deadly secrets.
As the secrets and revelations are revealed, their relationship takes a new direction. A direction that comes with deadly repercussions. Shady's cover is blown. His mission may be in jeopardy. His life may be in jeopardy. His connection with Diem could cost his life.
Diem is more than a pharmaceutical salesperson. Once her true identity is revealed it takes the story on another path. This path controls the past, the present, and future of the Sinner's MC. She has all the power.
Sinner's Revenge took a completely different direction than Sinner's Creed but also added the answers to the whys in Sinner's Creed. Kim Jones connected all the dots with a complex story while giving Shady and Diem their right to shine. They were harder characters than Dirk and Saylor. Their damaged souls made them untouchable. In the end it was Dirk and Saylor's life testimony and acts of love that made Shady and Diem make the right choices. The choice to love rather than hate.
Loneliness…..longing….revenge. The combination fuels Shady and fills him with anger. Nothing will make up for losing his closest friend - Dirk. The only thing that keeps Shady going is his desire for enacting revenge against those that took Dirk from this world. With the blessing of the MC, Shady enacts a plan that will get him the retribution he so desperately seeks.
Armed with a new identity, Shady falls into the life of ‘Zeke’. This alter ego puts Shady right in the heart of ‘enemy’ territory. Allowing Shady to slowly pick off those that are a part of the Death Mob. What he couldn’t have predicted was crossing paths with Diem.
Imagine a cyclone barreling through your life. That is what Zeke found whenever he came face to face with Diem. She is reckless, spunky, and everything that appeals to the rugged biker. What isn’t floating around is ‘love at first sight’. These two have a love-hate relationship that would keep anyone on their toes. In fact - it’s what Zeke and Diem find appealing about the other.
As we know - nothing is ever as it seems. With Shady taunting trouble with every move, he can’t concentrate on what part Diem is playing in his life. Mystery surround both of these travelers and things are about to get more intimidating by the moment. Both struggling with their identity and the place they hold in the others life. Hold on tight…..this ride is one you will not forget easily!!
Fans of Sinner’s Creed….hold on tight! Kim is treating you to a ride unlike anything you would have predicted. Shady’s story is full of surprises, suspense, and a seriously intriguing couple!! Every single turn kept me wanting to figure out what secrets were lurking beyond the page. Keeping me guessing right up until the moment we figure things out.
Anyone that thinks a biker romance is not for them…think again!! The individuality and unique characters that Jones writes within this world of the MC will keep you coming back for more!! Seriously….Shady and Diem were great!! I loved the push/pull relationship they exhibited throughout the book. The secondary characters were also very well written. Adding another dynamic to Shady’s already appealing characteristics! I can’t wait to see what Jones has in store next. Maybe a little peek at Rookie would be nice!!!
SINNER'S REVENGE is the second installment in Kim Jones's contemporary, adult SINNER'S CREED erotic, romance MC series focusing on the members of the motorcycle club Sinner's Creed. This is MC member Shady (aka Zeke Robinson), and pharmaceutical rep Diem's story line. SINNER'S REVENGE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but for cohesion and back story I recommend reading the series in order as many of the events in the current story line occur as a direct result of the events of book one Sinner's Creed.
Told from dual first person points of view (Shady and Diem) SINNER'S REVENGE follows Shady on his journey of revenge.Following the murder of his best friend and Sinner's Creed nomad Dirk Dixon, Shady has vowed retribution and vengeance against the MC responsible -Death Mob. Along with fellow MC members Rookie and Tank, Shady enacts a plan that focuses on vindication, taking out as many members of Death Mob as possible as he struggles with the loss of the man he considered closer than blood. The MC will always be number one in Shady's life but when the beautiful, demanding, strong willed woman with attitude Diem enters his life, Shady is caught between the MC and moving forward with the woman that calls to his heart...but Diem has a secret-one that could end Shady's life, and in this the twist to the story comes full circle and even more personal.
The relationship between Diem and Shady is built upon secrets and lies. There is plenty of back and forth, push and pull, and frenetic banter between our leading couple. The $ex scenes are intimate,erotic and hot.
SINNER'S REVENGE has a large ensemble cast of characters including several members of both Sinner's Creed and Death Mob motorcycle clubs. We are also introduced to Diem's extended family adding a surprising twist to the story line premise.
The world building continues to focus on the MC lifestyle -their lives and loves, family, battles, power and control. There is a large amount of violence both graphic and implied-revenge is not pretty or docile; retribution is ugly and determined.
SINNER'S REVENGE is an intense, passionate and vengeful story line. The premise is gritty; the characters are passionate; the romance is steamy. The twists and turns you will never see coming.
