EEEEKKK. What a PERFECT follow-up to Tattooed Emotions. I totally got a book-hangover from this one. I cannot wait to continue the journey with Raelyn and Damien in March of 2016 for Forever Tattooed.
In the second installment of the Tattooed Billionaire series, readers will see that the love that blossomed between Damien and Raelyn has grown so much deeper. We get more of a feel for the characters emotions and they open up quite a bit more about their feelings. This is something I absolutely love to see in book; the characters changing and growing like people do in real life. This my friends is what sets this series apart from others. The fact that the author is able to make her characters relatable and realistic in terms of their loves, lives, and passions. What a beautiful story.
Talking about a hangover... Wow! I don't know how to explain the love I have for this book. Damien and Raelyn's journey is so much stronger in TATTOOED Scars. Damien's love for Raelyn is so much deeper, and he is so much more vocal toward her, and others in her life. Raelyn is fighting her own turmoil, she doesn't want to let Damien in anymore than she has. You've read how their relationship started, now you need to read how their relationship grows. As always, Alicia knocked this one out, and I can't wait for book 3!!!
This is book two in a three book series, so don’t get all upset when you realize there is another book to go. Of course, this book really doesn’t end in a cliffhanger. It’s an ending that leaves you wanting more – but it’s not a cliffy that will make you want to throw yourself over the edge.
We pick back up with Damien and Raelyn where we know that Raelyn’s tumor may be back but we don’t know what she’s going to do about it. And, uhhh, truth be told, she doesn’t either for a good part of this book. Which was both suspenseful and infuriating.
Oh sweet sweet Damien. His unwavering support of Raelyn holds up this book on its legs, walking it forward and carrying it at its hardest moments. His fierce strength and stubborn determination made me fall for him again and again. *swoon*
Damien may not have known was love was before Raelyn, but he’s certainly making up for it now. He is all alpha male, but so fricking sweet that you’ll want to tackle hug him. And well…Raeyln does that too. The sexy scenes are plenty sexy. I’m pretty sure Damien would walk around with Raelyn permanently attached to his dick if he could. And I was totally ok with that.
Angsty, emotional and passionate, Tattooed Scars left a lasting impression. NEED BOOK THREE NOW! 4 stars!
"So many people think that money and materialistic objects equal happiness when they don't. Our happiness should come from our family and friends and creating memories with them that will last a lifetime."
Tattooed Scars is book 2 in the Tattooed Series by Alicia Rae. I absolutely LOVED Damien and Raelyn in Tattooed Emotions but their connection is so much stronger in Tattooed Scars and I loved seeing them grow together.
"I didn't even know I had a heart until I set eyes on Raelyn. Now, when I'm not with her, my heart fucking aches for her. She makes me dream of a future I never thought possible. ... I promise, I'll never hurt her. When she cries, my heart fucking bleeds. And you'd better believe, I'll be by her side, holding her hand, through any storm that might cross her path."
Tattooed Scars is the continued journey of Damien and Raelyn. I can't say too much without spoiling book 1 for those that haven't read it but I highly recommend this series. I absolutely cannot wait for March when Forever Tattooed comes out!
"I love your strength and your determination and your beautiful heart that you've shown me time and time again. I even love it when you get all bossy on me. It shows me that you care enough to fight."
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review
4.5 stars
Tattooed Scar is the second part of Raelyn and Damien emotional story. It was clear from the way Tattooed Emotional #1 ended that Raelyn and Damien had some tough times ahead. Raelyn received some devastating news and Damien does all he can to support her, to show her that he won’t let her give up.
“I won't accept anything less than forever with you.” I really enjoy this book, and I think what stood out the most was Raelyn and Damien’s love for each other. It’s deep, strong and has grown so much. I adored Damien dominant, protective and compassionate side. I love that will all Raelyn is going through she is still as selfless as ever.
“You are supposed to be my perfect ending, but I'm just your beginning”
“You’re all I need”
It was an emotional read, as Alicia knows how to pull up in and make you care for theses characters as if they were family or friends. I look forward to reading Forever Tattooed the continuation of Raelyn and Damien’s journey due for release March 2016.
Tattooed Scars picks up were Tattooed Emotions leaves off. Alicia Rae does not disappoint in this second book. This book is full of emotion and ups and downs. Damien and Raelyn's love grows and you see how dedicated they are to each other. Raelyn is still struggling with her feelings about Damien. Even though she cares deeply for him she doesn't think she has truly fallen in love with him. Or has she? This is a must read. I can not wait for what The next brings. March can't get here soon enough. This is a 5 star rating by me!

Do you know it's bloody hard to read with tears in your eyes!!!
Book 2 in Tattooed series. I was desperate to get my hands on this book and it was an emotional and heartwarming read.
It starts off where the last book finished, Raelyn fearing the worst and not wanting to face them. In this part she has to face them but she won't be doing it alone, Damien loves Raelyn and his there to support her and help her through but first she has to make a decision that no one else can.
Damien is perfect in this book, loving and sexy, pushy at times but not going in too heavy. He had his alpha moments which Raelyn finds amusing as did I, even though he is alpha Raelyn is stubborn and won't be pushed around and he knows that too.
Considering her condition in this book they still manage to be very physical, there is romance too and some lovely scenery.
This book is emotional and brought tears to my eyes and made it hard to read at times. You feel for both the characthers and it really pulls at your heart.
This author manages to stir your emotions and make you fall in love with her characthers.
Tattooed Scars picks up where Tattooed Emotions ends and drives us through so much emotion.
Tattooed Scars shows how much deeper the love between Raelyn and Damien goes. Raelyn has a difficult decision to make and she's really unsure what to do now that she has Damien. Damien, dear lord this man is impossible to not love. And he just grew on me more with how he is with Raelyn in this book.
I love that we got a glimpse of Damien's POV in this book. It really gives us a better insight to what is going on inside his head and how much Raelyn truly means to him. I get chills just thinking about these two together.
This book is full of emotion and it will tug at your heart. And Alicia doesn't hold back on her steamy scenes either. WOW!! That's all I am saying.
Yes, this books ends in sort of a cliffhanger, but not in a way that has you dangling over the edge. It leaves you wanting and begging for more. Alicia, I can't wait to see where you take us in Forever Tattooed.
This book hit me right in the feels! I looked forward to this book so much, and Alicia Rae didn’t let us down! I loved every page of this and could not put it down! Raelyn and Damian are just so perfect! The beginning, the middle and The ending, just everything was beautifully written. I could honestly say this was one of the best romance books I’ve ever read. Whenever an author can capture me in the story I’m lost and I love it! Alicia did this perfectly!
"You are supposed to be my perfect ending, but I'm just your beginning"
Tattooed Scars is the much anticipated sequel to Tattooed Emotions by Alicia Rae. We were left with that delicious ending that had most readers panting for more of Raelyn and Damien.
My heart broke for Raelyn, just as when she just found her great love and she was finally living her life to the fullest – she receives the most tragic news. She was torn between her options. If she were single, she knew what she’d choose, but she has Damien now. And I’m just so glad he’s there for her when she needed him most.
I think I fell in love even more with Damien. I love how he took care of Raelyn and how he tries to fight for her, even when she’s in the brink of giving up. You know it’s true love when he/she stays at the lowest point in your life and doesn’t give up even if you push him/her away. Damien did just that, and because of it – he has my heart.
This time, we are gifted with Damien’s POV, even if it’s just for a few chapters. We get to see what is inside his head. His thoughts, his worries and it were enough for us to know how much he values Raelyn.
Just like the first one, the steam wasn’t lacking, it got even hotter and sexier. The love was just overflowing as much as the heartache. Nevertheless, this novel gives a lot of hope that anything and everything is possible, especially when you don’t give up.
I’m looking forward for the next book in the series, perhaps it’s the happy ending the two of them very much deserved.
"I won't accept anything less than forever with you."
This story is the continuation in the Tattooed Billionaires series. And its just as good as Tattooed Emotions. This is one series you don't want to miss. Its so well written I feel as I'm reading this that I'm right there with the characters. It is full of emotion and love. And who can resist a billionaire. Damien is such a perfect handsome billionaire and he wants to share it all with the one woman who stole his heart right away, Raelyn.
Damien and Raelyn both have their pasts staring them right in there face. One with decisions to make and one with dark secrets. Damien is hiding behind his tattoos and wont reveal the reasons to Raelyn since she finally has gotten to see him with out a shirt. But she knows better to ask for the reasons behind the tattoos knowing that it will put Damien back in his past which he refuses to reveal. She sees his scars underneath the tattoos and knows there is a story about them.
Raelyns past has come back to haunt her and now she has to make a decision on whether to deal with it and face whether she wants to live the rest of her life with Damien or just let fate take its course. Raelyn has to make her decision NOW or her days with Damien are numbered. She is torn by what has been told to her before and now there might be a way to fix this.
Will Damien and Iris convince her to take this chance? Or will Raelyn decide to just accept things as they are? Damien and Raelyns love is so strong that either don't want to lose the other. There is so much emotion in this story and its full of surprises and has a few good twists in it. I cant get enough of Damien. Who wouldn't want to be in love with a billionaire that cherishes you. Alicia Rae's stories are all so full of emotion and love that you will devour each one of them. This series will rock your world and draw you into Damiens and Raelyn's world. I LOVED IT!! I RECOMMEND YOU READ TATTOOED EMOTIONS FIRST. THEN STAY WITH THIS REST OF THE SERIES.
Once again Alicia Rae hit the feels HARD! This book explores deeper into the relationship that Raelyn and Damien are building. My emotions were all over the place with this one! Laughing, crying and yelling because I was so mad at parts. Raelyn and Damien together are a magical pair and play very well off of each other. Their love is one of those rare bonds that you dream of as a child but the circumstances are less than desirable. I love how Raelyn gives as good as she can when it comes to Damien and doesn't bow down to him even though she's an emotional mess a lot of time. My heart broke for these two at the end. I could never imagine what it would be like to go through what they do! This book flowed brilliantly and I could not put it down. You honestly feel the couple's emotions bleed off the pages and I was totally sucked in! I need more.. NOW! LOL
Still dealing with that hangover.. This is the perfect sequel to Tattooed Emotions! We witness firsthand, the growth of Raelyn and Damien as separate people, As well as how their relationship grows and goes above and beyond. Please read Tattooed Emotions first, before reading this book. You will get so much more out of it. It is an amazing series. Ms. Rae never disappoints! I am very much looking forward to Tattooed Forever!! I was gifted this ebook by Inkslinger PR on behalf of the author for an honest review. Opinions in this review are my own.
Oh my God i feel emotionally drained after finishing this i spent the last hour of reading this sobbing my heart out have a big box of tissues ready. I absolutely loved the first book and this was even better :-D we learn a bit more about damiens past but not all :'( and raelyns struggles with the recurrence of her tumour and wat decision to make. Damien and Raelyn love is so beautiful i want a man like damien :-* i can't wait for the next book roll on march ;-)
The emotions I felt reading this second of three books of the Tattooed series almost defy description. The book picks up where Tattooed Emotions left off and Raelyn and Damien are in thick of being madly in love. The depth of feelings our H/h have for each other is unlike anything either of them have experienced in the past.
"All that mattered was our pure feelings of love and desire for one another. When I was with Damien, the outside world would cease to exist. It was just the two of."
If only it were as simple as working towards their HEA with just a few inconveniences. But, as would be expected, it's not smooth sailing for Damien and Raelyn on many levels. Ms. Rae did a fantastic job of weaving outside influences into this story that threw me for a total loop!!
I want to preface the rest of my review by saying I won't give any spoilers. BUT, if you haven't read Tattooed Emotions, please stop here. At the end of Tattooed Emotions, Damien had just found out that Raelyn had recently had brain cancer which was the reason her fiancé ended their relationship. This is what makes Raelyn so skittish about getting involved with another man. Added on top of this, it appears her tumor may be back and in her mind, how would anyone want to get involved with her when there's a possibility they may not have an HEA. However, Damien being the swoonworthy man he is doesn't let that stop him from continuing to pursue a relationship. It actually solidifies his feelings for Raelyn. And he makes that very clear when he's having a conversation with Iris, her BFF....
"I didn't even know I had a heart until I set eyes on Raeylyn. Now, when I'm not with her, my heart f**king aches for her. She makes me dream of a future I never thought possible."
Not that I wasn't already over the top in love with this character, but this just solidified it for me. The strength of his love for her knows no bounds and he'll do whatever is in his power to keep her with him and have a life neither of them dreamed of being possible.
And let's talk about the red-hot sex these two have. Ms. Rae certainly didn't disappoint in this area and I for one am very happy about this important part of a loving relationship! Their combined chemistry is palpable and it's what brings a level of intimacy to their lives that prior to their meeting was missing.
As for the outside influences, when they appear we learn they're a big part of why Damien is the way he is, and although we don't have the full story quite yet, things become a LOT clearer giving Raelyn some of the missing pieces. Then there's Ashton Parker. Is he who he really says he is? Is there more to his story than what he presents to Raelyn? Should she trust him given what she's just gone through with Cale as her business partner? I have a feeling we've just seen the tip of the iceberg where he's concerned.
As the book progresses, Damien helps Raelyn experience things that she normally wouldn't have taken the time to participate in like snorkeling. One of my favorite scenes is when Damien takes Raelyn on her very first airplane ride ever! Her fears and the way Damien assuaged them was awesome and I chuckled a couple of times.
The decisions these two face I read further into the book gutted me. I actually had to put my kindle down a couple of times to get a handle on my emotions and when I did pick it back up, I just pulled on my big girl panties and read through my tears. Nobody deserves to face what these two face both together and separately. The strength Damien gives to his "gorgeous girl" is so beautifully expressed in his words and actions....
"Nothing will ever change the way I feel about you, and I'll never let you go Raelyn. Never"......."We are stronger than our scars, Raelyn, whether they are visible to the eye or superficial. Our pasts will not define our futures."
What is the life changing decision Raelyn needs to make? What will Damien do with her decision. Does he play a factor in it. How much more do we learn about Damien's past and how does it affect their future? Who might want to put a wrench in their future plans? Some of these questions are answered in this book and the rest we have to wait to find the answers out in Forever Tattooed the final book in this amazing series.
Damien and Raelyn's story was definitely not one that could be told in one sitting. Alicia Rae did a great job bringing the emotion. We all felt what they went through and my heart broke over and over again for Damien.
I received a free copy of Tattooed Scars by the author in exchange for an honest review. Since I really enjoyed the first book, I wanted to continue reading this series. I will honestly say that I did enjoy this second installment, but it was definitely a roller coaster of emotions—more so than the first installment called Tattooed Emotions. This story begins where the first book concludes with Raelyn’s cancer symptoms coming back to haunt her. The headaches, the nausea, the blackouts and the body aches have all come back less than a year after previous rounds of chemotherapy sessions. This time though, she not only has Iris—her best friend. She also has the love of her life, Damien Heathman. Exploring her relationship with Damien is still new and full of surprises, but she still holds onto the fear that Damien will admit that she is not worth the fight and leave—just like her ex. After Damien suggests that Raelyn needs a second opinion after a rather traumatic prognosis, he flies her to one of the best Oncologists who suggests brain surgery to remove her tumor. With her number one motto being “numbers never lie”, she is overcome with loss after the percentages are laid out for her. With no hope left, Damien finally breaks down and admits that Raelyn has been the only one to ever save his heart—to make him want to be a better person. But can he do the same for her—can he make her want to fight for a future free of cancer…after all of the pain that she has already suffered?
My favorite characters are Damien and Raelyn, the two main characters. I would still really love Iris and would love to read more about her and Joshua in a little side story, if possible. Raelyn is strong, beautiful and confident. She knows her weaknesses and tries to avoid them at all costs, but her fears are very plausible, considering that she has endured the pain of chemotherapy and self-esteem all-time lows. Once her symptoms begin to come back, she realizes that her remission has ended but she doesn’t want to look frail and sick in front of the people who care the most about her. She doesn’t want anyone’s sympathy or pity. Damien is the kind and compassionate CEO who loves Raelyn unconditionally. He is a risk-taker, unlike Raelyn. He is smart and confident and takes full control over the things that he desires. When he learns of Raelyn’s illness, he doesn’t hesitate to take control because he knows that if she doesn’t fight for her life—he will lose the only thing that has made him live again. Both characters go through so much emotional turmoil and it is a complete roller coaster.
Overall, the story is very well written. The pace is nice and quick, which is easy for me to follow. The author does a wonderful job with character development and credibility. I found that this story was a little difficult to read during specific emotional scenes due to the strong emphasis about life and death. This story is geared toward a female audience. I would recommend Tattooed Scars to women who enjoy romance and women’s fiction. This story made me feel a range of emotions including sadness, anger, excitement, curiosity and happiness. I rate this story with five stars due to the complexity and originality of this novel. I will definitely be looking forward to the third installment in this series called Forever Tattooed.
Tattooed Scars is the second book in the Tattooed series from Alicia Rae. This book is not a standalone as it continues Raelyn and Damien's story. Readers should start with Tattooed Emotions before reading this story. I couldn't wait to dive into this one after the way things left off in TE, and I wasn't disappointed. Alicia Rae is one of my favorite authors, and I always know that I will enjoy her books.
Raelyn Jennings and Damien Heathman didn't plan on falling in love, but they know that what they share is the kind of love you only find once in a lifetime. Though their love is stronger than anything they have felt before, their pasts threaten to destroy everything. Raelyn has a life changing decision that only she can make, and Damien's secrets resurface as he tries to focus on his future with Raelyn.
I loved these two in the first book, and I loved them even more here. Raelyn did frustrate me a few times, but it was completely understandable. While I wanted her to handle things a bit differently than she did, I really felt for her. She was in a terrible situation and regardless of what she did it wouldn't be an easy choice. Damien was so fantastic here. He was still the same sexy and commanding guy that we had met before, but his love for Raelyn here was beyond anything words can describe. He showed just how supportive he could be and I really believed that he would go to the ends of the earth for Raelyn. Their connection is undeniable and their chemistry was as strong as ever. But their relationship and bond just continues to intensify and I loved seeing how these two pulled together and were able to lean on each other here.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I am already looking forward to the next chapter of their story, Forever Tattooed, which is set to release in March 2016. I love all of Alicia Rae's books that I have read, but I find that I am especially loving Damien and Raelyn's books. Alicia Rae is a talented writer that always evokes such raw emotions and shows her readers what true and unconditional love is, and that is definitely the case with the Tattooed series. I highly recommend any of her books if you haven't had the chance to read her work yet. Her characters are always so genuine and easy to relate to, and her stories are emotional and heartfelt. Alicia Rae is an author that is at the top of my auto-buy list, and I really would read anything with her name on it at this point.
Have ever read a book that makes your breathe catch? You get caught up in the emotion, both good and bad, and you mentally fight alongside the characters, hoping for a happy ending to defy the reality of a situation. Tattooed Scars is a book that is intense. There is agony with a small tinge of hope, something you long to see to grow into something tangible to hold onto. When I finished Tattooed Emotions, the first in this series, I was stunned with the ending, frantic to see what happens. I was nervous about this book, knowing it was the follow up to what was revealed at the end and an uncertain future. Alicia Rae delivers a beautiful love story in which two characters, who are connected at the deepest level, must learn to fight for what they want and to chase their moments of happiness in light of an unforeseeable future.
Raelyn and Damien are so great in this story. The outside world ceases to exist in this book and you are swept away in their love story. There are moments of happiness so pure that you cannot help but smile like a fool. But there is also such heartache and utter tragedy at the unfairness of the world. When you read books like this, it can go either way. The emotion is authentic. It is something you feel when you read. This book shows the good and the bad of situations like these. We see the intense mental battle Raelyn faces, attempting to determine what she wants to do. Watching her struggle with the choices she is forced to make are hard to grasp. The authenticity of the situation and struggle is something that hurts as you read it.
The love story between these two main characters is beautiful. At times it is messy, filled with intense reaction and emotions. Their young relationship develops into a partnership and soulmate like connection that goes deeper due to the uncertainties. I loved how they were connected on the deepest level. Daimen feels Raelyn’s pain. He mourns with her but also fights for her. Watching them clash and fight with each other and together is hard. The support and love between these two is real. There are moments of hurt and anger but also moments of hope and fight.
At the end of this book, I was not expecting more but I am so excited to keep reading. I felt drained in the best way after finishing this story. Alicia does a great job of connecting the readers to her characters and situations, allowing us to walk with Raelyn and Damien and experience everything they solider through. I cannot wait to see what Alicia Rae has planned for this series. I am nervous about what is to come but excited to see how this story unfolds!
“We are stronger than our scars, Raelyn, whether they are visible to the eye or superficial. Our pasts will not define our future.”
Having just learned of the seriousness of the secret Raelyn has been keeping from Damien, the two must not only battle their own fears, but determine which path they will take and the consequences each holds for their relationship. With a difficult decision that may determine the length of their future, Raelyn must dig deep to determine if overcoming her fear and taking a risk is worth the possibility of an extended future with Damien, or should she play it safe and accept the limit that may come with that decision. And while Damien not only fights for Raelyn, the secrets surrounding his past and the scars that he has worked to cover come crashing backing into his life. Will the two find that their love is a spark that will burn hot and bright but fade quickly, or will the two find that their love and devotion to one another is worth the risks they must take?
Once again, Alicia Rae has continued a story that was heartbreaking, passionate, beautiful, deep, and emotional. The level of intimacy between Raelyn and Damien continues to grow and strengthen into something much deeper and far more intense than either expected. In fact, Rae’s ability to show the growth and change in her characters is what fulfills the storyline of the second installment, as does her ability to continue to add layers of questions surrounding Damien’s background. As she weaves the story, Damien continues to remain the man who goes after what he wants—he is fierce and unrelenting-- but he is also softer and more affectionate as he openly shares his love for Raelyn. In those swoon worthy moments, Damien shows his alpha side when he willingly fights for, holds, and comforts Raelyn. Damien captured my heart completely as he showed the true man he is, the man who fights for the one he loves even when she is ready to giving up.
"I won't accept anything less than forever with you."
And Raelyn…she continues to show strength and compassion. She faces her inner battle with character and integrity, even though there is confusion and doubt as she weighs each choice. And yet, as she struggles with her decision, she continues to show fierceness in her protection, loyalty, and love for Damien. This is a true love story that continues to unfold in the midst of heartache, trials, and tribulation. These are passionate characters who demonstrate that love can bring a level of hope and light even in the darkest of times. Tattooed Scars is a highly recommended read.
I have been waiting to get my hands on Alicia Rae's Tattooed Scars since my finger swiped the last page of Tattooed Emotions, and boy did this book live up to every one of my expectations!
Raelyn and Damien are madly, passionately, head-over-heels in love with each other. It is just wonderful to see. After everything that both of these two have been through they deserve to be together. They deserve each other. They deserve happiness and love. But that is the stuff that fairy tales are made of. Real life is never quite that easy and mess free is it? And way too soon we see their pasts catch up to them. Will they be able to overcome the scars from their pasts and build a beautiful future together?
Tattooed Scars picked up right where Book 1 left off. And once again Alicia Rae packs this book full to the brim with emotions. One of the marks of a great book is when you really let go and feel as if you are living through the characters and going through what they are.. and this is what happened here with me. My emotions were all over the place. I also truly appreciated the amount of realism that she brought to the book. (I know you are going to say what? Isn't there a billionaire in here. Be real Jill!) But honestly, the way Alicia Rae deals with the issues that Raelyn and Damien face is realistic and she doesn't sugar coat it. She doesn't make it all pretty and have them just agree quickly on the serious issues that arise. Damien and Raelyn each have their own (very strong) opinions that reflect their personalities, upbringings, feelings... And they let each other know. They fight each other to be heard. And I LOVED this! This is what real, strong relationships are made of. Wanting what is best for one another, fighting for each other. I thought it was absolutely beautiful to witness.
I highly recommend 1-clicking this book! Of course you need to go back and read Tattooed Emotions first.. but they are so worth it! I can't wait to read the next book Forever Tattooed!
I received a complimentary copy of Tattooed Scars in exchange for my honest review.
“We are stronger than our scars, Raelyn, whether they are visible to the eye or superficial. Our pasts will not determine our futures.”
In the second installment of this incredible love story, we are gifted with seeing Damien and Raelyn continue to transform and rid themselves of their traumatic pasts to concentrate on their future. Like a bad penny, the hits keep coming for them both. Damien wrestles with demons, in the flesh, from his tortured past that continue to rear their ugly heads, while Raelyn is dancing within the flames called cancer.
Damien is determined that NOTHING, including this insidious illness, stand in the way of a future with Rae. He seeks to show her the beauty of the life they could have together, whisking her away for perfect days in the sunshine and sheltering her when the storms come. Rae is reluctant to hope as she is struggling with an impossible decision where all choices have the possibility to end in tragedy.
Once again, the author writes a book that feels so personal and so complete in its emotion, I actually struggled with the decisions myself…what would I do if this were something I was facing? As a person who has lost a family member to cancer, I found that the author did a magnificent job of capturing the complex emotions of an incredibly difficult situation. She also beautifully weaves light-hearted moments in the book in a way that feels authentic; things like her “girl date” with her wonderful best friend and magical moments with a man straight from your fantasies. I continue to fall deeper in love with them both, Raelyn’s strength. Damien’s ferocity. The intensity of their love. Tattooed Scars was torture…of the sweetest kind, and I cannot wait for the next rollercoaster ride.
Tattooed Scars will get to you. It’s a journey of joy. The latest book in the series is simply amazing!
Tears of happiness are usually reserved for the final pages with the HEA. Throw that misconception out the window. The tears start at the beginning and continue throughout the entire read. I can’t say enough about how much this story moves me. Damien is just about perfect.
I didn’t plan on having heart wrenching tears roaring from inside fighting to escape down my cheeks. I didn’t plan to throw my kindle to the side and say “no more, I can’t take this”. I didn’t plan to sit on pins and needles in anticipation. I didn’t plan to withhold my breath for 4 hours waiting.
The Big C! Depressing? You’d think so however the author manages to spin a tale with great dirty sex around a very sad story.
It has unrequited love and heartbreak. Raelyn is forced to decide between having possible life altering surgery and waiting for her day to come. She wants to protect everyone in her life from this blast even if it means holding the one man she truly loves at arm’s length. It spotlights the victories and the horrors regarding living in the shadows of the unknown.
This series will touch you. If you are dealing with an illness or caring for someone who has an illness, it will bring you comfort. Everything I had hoped about the angst came true. Everything I thought would happen, does happen. But the joy about this book, it created a seed of doubt first.
Tattooed Scars is the second book in the Tattooed Series and picks up where Tattooed Emotions ended. This second book is a little different from the first; not as much angst and a lot more emotions but it definitely lived up to my expectations.
This installment deals with some serious issues for Raelyn and Damien. His secrets are threatening to reveal themselves and Raelyn is faced with an impossible decision. One option that is safe but has limits and one that is riskier would give them more time. Damien tries to convince her to choose the option that will give them the most future together. These issues will test their love to the limits but Damien will go to any lengths to be with Raelyn.
Tattooed Scars was a much more of an emotional read. It was a great look into their minds and what they were thinking through all of the challenges that they faced. It also was about them learning to deal with the events and things that life had in store for them. Raelyn and Damien had to make the best of the hand that life dealt them even during the bad times. This was a good life lesson book; I think sometimes we get so busy with life that we forget to enjoy it. Even during bad times the good will prevail.
I would recommend Tattooed Scars to anyone who read and liked Tattooed Emotions. You will fall in love with Raelyn and Damien’s story all over again. At times it broke my heart but it is well worth the heartache to read this beautiful story. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
Tattooed Scars is beautifully raw and emotionally gut wrenching!
"We are stronger than our scars, Raelyn, whether they are visible to the eye or superficial. Our pasts will not define our futures."
Damien Heathman and Raelyn Jennings have a powerful, passionate love like no other! Part 2 in this series picks up right where part 1 left off and it is one emotional roller coaster! Their road ahead is an extremely difficult one. They're are difficult decisions to be made, their pasts colliding into their future, jealousy, angst, and sweet moments of life that make it worth living. Damien is Raelyn's rock. The love and support he shows her made my heart burst!
"Damien Heathman was not a man who surrendered when life got rough. He was the type of person to stand in the middle of darkness, in an unbeatable storm, and face it head-on without fear."
Raelyn Jennings is one hell of a woman! She is stronger than she thinks but the battle she must go through is constantly plaguing her. Through it all though, she is still there for her man when he needs her most.
"I didn't even know I had a heart until I set eyes on Raelyn. Now, when I'm not with her, my heart fucking aches for her. She makes me dream of a future I never thought possible."
This story is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to read more of Damien and Raelyn's love! These two deserves a happily ever after like no other! Can't wait for part 3!!!
Raelyn and Damien are together, finally Damien learn the truth about Raelyn and her cancer. He will fight for her because he loves her and she will try her best to understand him.
This book is a real love story, Damien loves Raelyn unconditionally, and she’s his true love, he will do everything to protect and help her. I really like the relation they have together in this book, they aren’t always agreeing but they are making compromises and they’re trying to be together.
Raelyn’s feelings are on a roller coaster, with the return of cancer, her life will change and her future too, she’s afraid, she doesn’t want to leave Damien behind but in the same time she doesn’t want to live her last days (if this is happening) in an hospital. She wants to live the rest of her life with happiness and love.
Damien doesn’t accept very well that Raelyn doesn’t want to see many doctors, he’s trying to convince her and sometimes it’s working. He also must opening himself to Raelyn, mostly because a person from his past is back.
A thing I like in this book is how Alicia Rae manages to define so well the feelings and emotions of all the characters. I have cried a lot and I’m happy to see there is a third book coming in march.
The story is not complicated and it isn’t surprising at all, but the emotions are here and my heart was on a scenic railway, lot of ups and lot of downs.
I recommend this book to all the people who love Within These Walls by J.L Berg.
Tattooed Emotions was a roller coaster ride of emotions, but this book…this book ripped out my heart and shredded it.
Cancer is something that has, more than likely, affected each and everyone’s life in one way or another, and it’s a devastating factor that has the potential to completely destroy the light in a person. With the way book one left off I was hoping against all hope that Rae’s concerns were wrong, that she wouldn’t have to suffer at the hands of the big C again, but I also felt a little better knowing that she’d have someone as amazing as Damien by her side should the unthinkable ever happen.
Nothing came easy for these two fantastic people. Watching them fall for each other was a blessing, but watching their love develop into something deeper and even more meaningful was perfection. I enjoyed every second spent with them, even the more emotional, devastating moments that tore into my soul. It was at these moments when the Rae and Damien’s feeling for each other were so intense, they were palpable, and as heartbreaking as it was, it was also a thing of pure splendor.
I was in tears throughout most of this book, but Damien’s chapter almost killed me. The waiting and wondering, the anguish and fear, I felt his emotions like they were my own. Although this book ended on a hopeful note, I expect that Rae and Damien will be faced with even more obstacles. I only pray that they will make it out, together, stronger.
I read and devoured Tattooed Emotions (book1) So I was eager to start Tattooed Scars as I love Alicia's books
Tattooed Scars starts where book 1 ended, so you really need to read Tattooed Emotions first... the story also continues in book3, Forever Tattooed.. which releases March 2016 I believe This book does NOT end in a cliff hanger.. it just leaves you wanting more, haha as in the end of the story
In Tattooed Scars.. the love between Damien and Raelyn is so much stronger, you can seriously feel how much they love each other, bounce off the pages... it's a Real, Emotional, epic Undying Love... That we all would be lucky to have in our own lives..(well I would love to have this kind of love from a man) <3 swoon Where they would walk to the ends of the earth for the you, Die for you...
Tattooed Scars was an emotional read for me, a really beautiful story The author has a true talent, if they can make you feel so many emotions from reading there words... and Alicia did that in Tattooed Scars.. She is a very talented author/writer
Damien made this book for me, his strength and love for Raelyn is Epic.. he is a real swoon worthy guy.. and is now in my top fave Book Boyfriends list <3
I must admit... I didn't think book2 would be anywhere near as good as book1, But I was so so wrong, it was better
Tattooed Scars was an Emotional Rollercoaster of Emotions I can recommend it enough... there is no words to do this book justice
