She’s getting dirty with the bad boy…

Between his massive muscles, smoldering blue eyes, and “there’s no crying in camping” attitude, she’s in trouble…in more ways than one.

Search and rescue squad member Dex Young never thought he’d be roped into teaching “survival skills” to pageant queens. His sole student is upper class, upper state, and sexy as hell. And he has a sneaking suspicion that beneath her tight updo and designer jeans, there’s a sex kitten waiting to claw her way out.

But Dex knows women like her. Knows they only bring guys like him home to piss off their daddies. If it’s the bad boy experience she wants, she’ll get it. And Dex? Well, he can’t wait to find out just how dirty Michelle’s willing to get…

An enjoyable, light & sexy book. Not too sweet. Not too angsty. Not too over-the-top. The drama and the tension are done just right. In fact, I was pleased with the majority of this book.

Overall - it's not a bad read for those times when you want something a little frilly and fun. Definitely good when you want a bit of heat, without getting burned.

As a fan of Joya Ryan, she kicks off my 2016 book calendar with one hot sexy read!!!!! Who knew roughing it in the outdoors could be so sinfully entertaining? In Ms. Ryan's second installment of the Search and Seduce Series, Joya introduces us to the great outdoors and how to rough it. Well more like how to get D.I.R.T.Y. in Tell Me You Want Me.

photo 6a77e987f01d170724d0bd7eca52e5_zpszfzn6wth.gif Sex and sugar and raw wild man was what she tasted, and it was truly addicting.”

Michelle Ruby comes from a wealthy family and has never really experienced independence. The only jungle that Michelle knew how to rough it and survive was the concrete jungle of NYC and her survival essentials of her parent's money. So when she decides that she needs to take initiative of her life and gain independence from them, she packs up her bags and moves away to set up her own dreams of owning a boutique store. With no help from her parents, Michelle hopes to prove to them that she can survive on her own. Well the problem with that is that her boutique business is barely staying afloat so Michelle decides to take a survival course that will teach her how to be strong and independent. And most importantly she can survive on her own.

#TellMeYouWantMe_Joya

Well Michelle was in for a rude awakening when she realizes that she doesn't have what it takes to survive the great outdoors with her Jimmy Choos' boots and Marc Jacobs bag. But luckily for Michelle, Dex Young was there to help out the sex kitten. While trying to teach Michelle all the survival knowledge that she will need, Dex was also able to show the princess that being in the wild is about getting dirty. And dirty is what Dex Young showed her.

Rough. Dirty. Sexy. Steamy. Those four words can easily describe the palpable and tangible bond that was brewing between Michelle and Dex. These two made roughing it an adventure... a sexy dirty adventure that is. While Dex showed Michelle how to survive the wild, he also showed her what it takes to be independent and strong. While Michelle may be learning how to be strong, confident, and independent, Dex also learned that it takes a whole lot of strength and courage to admit LOVE.

photo 6a77e987f01d170724d0bd7eca52e5_zpszfzn6wth.gif Dex didn’t kiss; he played. But there was nothing lighthearted about it. It was a Hail Mary, everything on the line, final chance to score kind of play. Rough and consuming, deep and powerful. She could feel everything he was willing to offer in that one kiss. And she ate it up.”

Tell Me What You Want was a rugged adventure full of steam, love, and banter. I loved the chemistry of Michelle and Dex. Both characters were able to show character growth and learned that the real love survives the harshest of conditions and surviving that turmoil is what makes a relationship solid. As always, Joya Ryan writes a story filled with all the raw elements of love and emotions.

Summary (from Goodreads):

She’s getting dirty with the bad boy…

Determined to find her inner badass and save her business, boutique owner Michelle Ruby signs up for a twenty-four hour survival class. Except, she’s the only person who registered, and the guide is a sex-on-a-stick G.I. Joe come to life.

What I Liked:

I read the first book in this series, Tell Me You Need Me, and thought it was okay. This book was also just okay! Not bad but not amazing. I LOVE the idea of this book - search and rescue hotties - but in this particular book, it felt too short and I didn't quite connect with the heroine.

Michelle comes from a very rich family in New York, but she is in Beaufort trying to make her own way. Her boutique isn't doing so well, but she's trying to be independent and adventurous. She signs up for a survival class with the Search and Rescue team, and that means spending some one-on-one time with Dex, one of the hottest squad members. Too bad Dex knows her type - rich, only looking for one night. But lucky for them both, he's the man for one night stands. But one night might not be enough for either of them...

I really, really liked Dex. Honestly I could do with my own Dex. He's such a modern-day rogue, and a lot naughty, but he's a good person. He loves being a civil servant, loves helping others. Even with all their sexy interactions together, Dex does teach Michelle about survival.

I love Dex and Michelle together. Michelle has this whole list of sexual experiences she wants to have, and Dex, being Dex, sees the list and is intrigued. One by one, he helps her experience each of them. I actually really enjoyed this premise, because some of those experiences were pretty steamy! Michelle is more dirty-minded than she thinks.

Beyond the sexy times, I wasn't all that interested in the story. It's mostly about Michelle's struggle to remain independent from her rich parents - I guess I just wasn't that interested in Michelle. Read on!

What I Did Not Like:

Michelle wasn't someone I connected with, honestly. She is VERY rich and despite trying to be independent, her richness and rich background totally shows. She goes into the forest with Jimmy Choo boots, for crying out loud! I think I didn't like her at first, and she never grew on me,

Like I said above, I wasn't really invested in her story beyond the sexy times with Dex. So she wants to be independent. And stay far away from her rich parents and rich controlling ex-fiance. It just didn't appeal to me! And how Dex felt about all of that (coming from the background he has) - so heartbreaking! I really felt for Dex.

This story was also VERY short. More is always good, in romance novels! More steamy scenes. More tender scenes. More... more. This story felt a little compacted, in my opinion!

Would I Recommend It:

I liked the book overall, but I don't necessarily recommend it. It's not the best Brazen novel I've read - there are a lot of really good ones! Like the Dare Me series by Christine Bell, or anything by Megan Erickson or Tessa Bailey or Jennifer Bonds.

Rating:

3 stars. Joya Ryan has me intrigued by her writing and her stories, but I haven't really LOVED one yet. I think I'll keep trying, because she definitely knows how to write some steamy encounters!

Before I started this one I had skimmed down the ratings and wasn't expecting much after all the 3 star ratings. Too many times I've let that put me off and skipped over a book.

I'm glad in this case that I didn't do that. While this doesn't have a great deal of depth to it, it was still a good read.

Michelle has had enough of her families expectations and the seemingly set path they think she should be following. She's finally doing what she wants in life and has moved away to run her own business.

Dex is an easy going guy who lives to help other people but is hung up on how people perceive him. He thinks he's no more than what his reputation dictates.

As I said this book doesn't have a great deal of depth and there is a bit of insta love occuring, BUT it was hot.
At one point if I had had a penis it would have fallen off from over use. Dex gave it exactly how I like and I was left feeling pretty satisfied just from reading about it.

To sum up - if you go into this expecting a pretty drama free sexy read you won't be disappointed!

Tell Me You Want Me was just an OK read for me.
I struggled to connect with the characters and it really affected my overall enjoyment.

Although this is the second book in a series, I had no trouble following along. The hero from book 1 makes an appearance a few times and the heroine just one or two. The hero and heroine for what I assume will be the 3rd book make several appearances.

Um. If you like hot and heavy and lots of sex in your reading... well... um... this is your book! In fact, there was so much, I kind of skimmed a bit to get back to the emotional drama of their situation. I will say it was very well written and very... um... hot.

This had a bit of a fun feel to it I enjoyed. Particularly when Dex realizes he still has 6 more hours with Michelle to get his re-certification signed off. He and Michelle made it light-hearted and fun with great dialogue during these moments.

I liked Michelle a lot. (Is it weird I haven't really read a heroine with the name of Michelle in a long time? That came to mind and I realized they're all Chloe's or Sophie's these days??) Anyway, she had a great balance of strength and resolve to establish her independence. At the same time she's realistically vulnerable which gave her a lot of depth for me.

I liked Dex a lot when he was with Michelle and their dialogue. It wore me down the amount of inner dialogue he had and trying to convince himself of the stereotype of her being a rich and privileged princess and him being a poor studmuffin who women liked slumming it with. I wanted to cuff him behind his ears when he didn't defend Michelle to his mother.

When we got to the climax, I was really into it. Then it seemed to wrap up a lot off page and summarized by his friend. What he shared with Dex of Michelle's confrontation with her parents sounded fantastic and full of feel-y drama! There were several "coming to mother" moments I wanted to read to feel more satisfied.

Overall, I'd give this book a 3.5. It was entertaining and a great escape.

My review cross-posted from Wit and Sin: http://witandsin.blogspot.com/2016/01...

Michelle has spent her entire life under the control of her parents and then her (now ex-) fiancé. Having finally broken free from her Upper East Side ivory tower, Michelle lives in North Carolina and runs a boutique even she has to admit is struggling. But Michelle isn’t going down without a fight and in order to build her confidence and establish that she is a strong, independent woman, Michelle signs up for a survival class. Only her friend has to bail on her, which leaves Michelle alone with the incredibly handsome instructor.

Dex can see Michelle’s privileged upbringing practically oozing from her when they first meet, and for a man with no patience for the shallow and wealthy, he’s not impressed. Still, Michelle’s determination makes him smile even as his attraction to her makes him sweat. If Michelle wants to play with a bad boy, then Dex is happy to oblige...

Tell Me You Want Me is a fast-paced, red-hot story that’s easy to enjoy. Michelle is a smart, sweet woman who has lived such a sheltered life that she’s not really equipped to handle true struggle. While she isn’t easy to relate to, she’s a likeable heroine and I admired her determination to make it on her own and try new things. Her quest to branch out takes a turn for the extremely sexy when she meets Dex. Dex has a chip on his shoulder the size of a mountain when it comes to the wealthy, which should mean that he and Michelle have no hope as a couple. Of course, erotic attraction helps pave the way for these two and it’s not long before they’re steaming up the page and winding their way into each other’s hearts. But prejudices have to be overcome and both Dex and Michelle will have to open up if they want something together that will last.

In some ways, Tell Me You Want Me is hard to review. It’s an entertaining read, but not the most memorable. The sex scenes are wonderfully hot and Michelle and Dex have a lot of potential. They make an unlikely pairing, which is always a fun way to start, but author Joya Ryan doesn’t fully succeed in making me believe they are “meant to be.” If it weren’t for the helpful nudging of some secondary characters, I don’t see how these two would have gotten their happily ever after, a plot device I’m not too fond of. Perhaps the characters would have been better served by a longer format where they could be given more depth. Still, for a fast and hot read, Tell Me You Want Me is fun and I will definitely be checking out the first Search and Seduce story, Tell Me You Need Me.

I loved the series starter, so my expectations for this second in the series were pretty high. The story was okay and both Michelle and Dex were an engaging couple to read about and the chemistry was certainly there. I just felt that it was lacking in terms of that extra something that makes you believe that this is so much than physical and that they're in it for the long haul and will last. Dex makes his assumptions based on personal experience, but then I think he gets into those relationships with those kinds of women in order to keep perpetuating the prejudices in his head, which is kind of sad. Michelle, on the other hand, was someone who wanted to break free from her old life and be able to stand on her own two feet, so kudos to her. All in all, Tell Me You Want Me was an okay read that left me slightly disappointed. 3.5 stars, rounded off to four stars for Goodreads. ♥

So I got a copy of this book from the publisher to read. I found it to be a quick and enjoyable read. Since it is a pretty short story there is some elements of the plot that are not fully fleshed out, but it didn't really detract from the story.

This book features a city slicker who does some wilderness training. WIth her Jimmy Choos and pearl button sweater, I actually cringed for Michelle. She is totally out of her element, until it comes to seducing her guide Dex. The book features lots of time with the two furthering the 'training'. They disguise their sexual interest and attraction under the guise of helping Dex get his hours for re-certification, but really they just can't keep their hands off each other. This leads to a lot of sexy scenes for the reader, while Michelle checks things off her naughty-to-do list.

Since this was such a short story, some of the plot featuring the back story of the two is a little light, but really this was a story about the two of them. Can they make a relationship work? They definitely have the right stuff in the bedroom...and the tent...and the truck!

Joya Ryan gives us a hot one in this book. It’s a fast and easy read. We’ve got our heroine, Michelle, who’s trying to break free of her past and have new experiences, and our hero, Dex, a super hot survivalist expert in need of hours training inexperienced people to be recertified. Michelle wants those hours for an outdoorsy experience very much out of her comfort zone. She wasn’t going into it looking for more than a taste of how to survive outdoors. The heat between the main characters melts the pages.

Perhaps because this was such a short story there wasn’t much time for the author to draw out the characters. Not a lot of back-and-forth. The two jumped so fast into a one-nighter that it surprised me. Usually there’s a little buildup but it was wham-boom in this book. Hey, if the chemistry is there…as it surely was for these two.

My only issue is I had a hard time buying a deep connection between the two characters beyond the physical, at least nothing that would hold them together for the long-term.

If you’re looking for a fast, hot read, then this is the one for you.

This was just an okay read for me. I really enjoyed the first in the Search and Seduce series, and I'd been looking forward to this one, but I found the connection between the couple more difficult to believe. Michelle comes across as a competent store owner, but not overly bright when it comes to outdoor wilderness survival (which naturally is where Dex comes in). I think I'm just more partial to smart, feisty heroines and Michelle doesn't fall into this category for me, at least not at the start. She did eventually come into her own, and she and Dex share some steamy scenes together (no problem with the sexy stuff in this story!) They both have come up losers in the parents lottery and they definitely have to rise above the poor expectations of them in order to realize their own dreams. I did like the concept of the story, and Dex's willingness to help Michelle out with her list (especially the sexual fantasy part). 3 stars.

I'm listening to the audiobook and I keep having to stop. I don't think it's the books fault necessarily, but every time I pick it back up, it's in the middle of a sex scene 😅 I feel like absolutely nothing is happening plot-wise and I'm not invested in the sex since I don't remember the emotional context.

Either way though, I'm not able to get back into it when the scene is over. I feel like it's repeating the same things and nothing new is happening.

I don't think I'd try this one again and at this point I'm guessing the series just isn't for me. I read a Ryan book in the past that I did like, so I'd try the author again.

ERIN'S REVIEW
4. 5 STARS

This story is sure to get your motor running. Dex and Michelle are both struggling with their own insecurities and what they believe are their inadequacies. Dex is the fun-time guy, but wants to be the forever man. Michelle wants to be wanted for who she is, not who her parents want her to be. They are thrown together by chance, and stay together by choice. The road is rocky but well worth the trip. They both learn so many things about themselves along the ride. They develop a strong connection. Michelle’s ‘list’ fuels several hot, steamy, panty-combusting scenes. This author is a favorite of mine. She knows how to write a story that brings her characters to life. I always look forward to reading her work. Can’t wait to see what she has in store next.

KIM'S REVIEW

I haven't read this author before and I was pleasantly surprised.
Tell Me You Want Me is a sweet, entertaining read that'll leave you with a smile.
I could feel Michelle's need to "be a grown-up". All she wanted was to make her way in the world on her own. She wanted to be completely self-reliant. Most women want that these days.
Except Michelle was born into a world that most humans wish for. Her family is wealthy and old- worldly. Her parents want her to be 'arm' candy for her would be husband and the perfect society wife. Michelle's future life didn't include doing things on her own and making up her own mind.
So she did the next best thing to chucking it all. The would be husband turned into the Ex and the parents got left behind as Michelle made her bid for total independence.
Dex Young is sexy and hot in all the best ways. He works a job he loves saving people in need. He takes care of his mom even though she's quite able to do it on her own.
The fact that he's one of those from "the wrong side of the tracks" doesn't seem to matter to him anymore...much.
But the one thing he doesn't really like is taking care of a bunch of over-privileged jerks on training exercises. Those who want just a dash of the experience of making it in the great outdoors makes Dex roll his eyes and bite his tongue. But it's what he has to do to stay sharp in his work and keep his certifications up to date.
That is he hates teaching survival skills to the rich and overbearing; until a sweet, sassy, sexy woman with a back side that gives Dex all kinds of really bad ideas challenges him to teach her everything he knows.
Michelle is looking for independence, Dex is looking for a good time in more ways than one. Trouble is...Can they do it without involving more than learning and teaching?
This book is a quick entertaining read.

After growing tired of being micromanaged by her parents and ex-fiance, Michelle Ruby made the choice to leave New York behind and make a life for herself in North Carolina. She has opened her own boutique, and she is ready to live her life on her own terms, and has a life "To Do" list to prove it. And she's not about to let anyone keep her from checking those items off her list...

She signs up for a 24 hour survival course with the intention of learning new skills to help make her feel like she can accomplish things solely on her own, but once she sets sights on her handsomely rugged instructor she begins to think he may be the perfect man to help her accomplish a few of items off of her naughty fantasy list too... now she just has to convince him to be her student!

Dex Young has been used by woman more times than he cares to count, he is always attracted to the ones that see him as the perfect bad boy that can be used to rub their families the wrong way. He is tired of being a pawn in their games, and has given up any hope of ever having a long term relationship, so he keeps things casual now days, and only does things on a one night basis. He enjoys his job as a search and rescue squad member but isn't so fond of having to teach survival skills classes in order maintain his license...especially when he's teaching those skills to upper class people who don't really appreciate the educational adventure. He is currently in need of
acquiring his yearly hours so his boss once again sends him to teach skills on a overnight camping trip to the very people he despises. But once he arrives and finds he only has one very sexy student to teach, things definitely start to look up...

This was my second visit to this series and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I spent reading this story, it had me laughing, smiling and blushing the whole way through. Dex completely stole my heart and had me flying right through the pages to see if he'd finally find his well deserved happy ending. Ms. Ryan has once again reaffirmed my belief that she is a true master at her craft, and has once again provided me with a well written and highly enjoyable literary escape!!

Highly recommend you acquaint yourself with the men of the Search and Seduce series, they are sure to steal your heart and provide you with a few hours of VERY satisfying reading!!

Joya Ryan is back with the second book in the Search and Seduce series and if you are after an easy & hot read then look no further. Search and Rescue training was never meant to be this hot.

Dex and Michelle certainly give new meaning survival training that’s for sure. Dex needs his recertification and Michelle wants to check things off her adventurous to do list. Easy done. Should be no problem right?

“Okay, I like you a little. In some ways…” She went another inch down and felt the second pack of what she could only imagine was an eight pack of oh-my-abs. “I like you liking me,” he rasped. “Because if you liking me keeps your hands on me, then we’re going to get along just fine.”

That was until he sees her other list. When Dex sees part of her list, the sex to do list, he volunteers to help. He can tie both together so they each get what they need. As they tick off things on Michelle’s list and Dex’s recertification list, one sexy thing at a time, they find themselves wanting what they were both clear they didn’t want. More.

“Oh, yeah? You were so excited to run from me, huh? Last night was too dirty for you, princess?” She swallowed hard. Yes, it had been too dirty. Dirtier than anything she’d ever done, and she’d never felt more alive. And deep down, she wanted to get that dirty again.

But when reality comes knocking in the form of their families, can they find a way past what others expect and show them that they are meant to be together or will it be a barrier too high to scale?

Dex and Michelle are a fantastic pairing. They bring out the best in each other and do so while having fun. I think that’s why I liked them so much.

I look forward to the next book, which hopefully will be Natalie and East’s. This series so far has been a hot surprise and one this reader is thoroughly enjoying.

Park Avenue Princess Michelle decides to take a survival course so she can feel stronger. She gets more than she bargained for when sexy Dex Young steps up to teach the 24-hour course. The chemistry between these two is palpable, and they both know they're not in it for the long haul. What they'll do with the time they do have is anyone's guess.

This book was okay, and I didn't like this book as much as the first in the series, Tell Me You Need Me . I had a hard time connecting with the characters, and I just kept waiting for it to get better. The sex was steamy, but other than that, I didn't care about them at all. Even with that, I'm not sure I'd recommend this book to everyone. The storyline was good, but I don't know. I just didn't love it.

If you're looking a quick, hot read, Tell Me You Want Me is a good choice. If you want emotional depth and characters you'll connect with, keep looking.

This was short and sexy and cute and I really enjoyed it. The whole book is easy and delicious and was a perfect pick me up over the stressful holiday period. Michelle is a poor little rich girl trying to strike out on her own away from a controlling ex-fiancé and wealthy parents who think she’s little more than a bargaining chip. Which is how she ends up on a survival course, camping out overnight with one of the sexiest men she’s ever met.

Dex knows all about rich people slumming it. After all, that’s how he came into the world, and his mother has made sure he hasn’t forgotten it, even if he can’t help being attracted to rich girls looking for a good time with a bad boy. Dex is good at being bad, but he’s also first and foremost a protector, so when Michelle comes along ticking all the right boxes and with an added vulnerable side, he gets a little confused.

Luckily this confusion doesn’t stop either of them from having a very good time. I loved the way these two flirt and wheedle extra time together under the pretence of finishing up Michelle’s course and making sure Dex gets the right amount of training hours to regain his license. They’re cute and flirty and sexy, and I just found the whole thing a lot of fun.

Sure, for all the family troubles they both have, the plot doesn’t delve too deep in addressing them and the amount of genuine survival training is a little low, but overall this was good. I liked it a lot, it definitely helped me unwind and I’ll be catching up on the first in the series soon.

This was my first book by Joya Ryan, and actually my first Entangled Brazen book as well.

While this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. I didn’t feel like I missed anything by not reading the first book.

This is the story of Michelle and Dex. Michelle is the daughter of wealthy parents who had her life planned out for her, right down to her fiancé. She’s determined to make it on her own, so she moves away and opens up her own boutique. In her strive for independence, she signs up for a class on wilderness survival.

Dex is the hot guy teaching the hands on portion of the survival class. He’s used to being looked down on by the upper class, and a guy that women see only as one night of fun.

Of course there is attraction between the two, but neither wants to admit it: Michelle, because she’s trying to be independent and not need a man, or anybody, for that matter; Dex, because he knows that Michelle is upper-class and thinks that she’s too good for him and couldn’t possibly be interested in a relationship with him.

This was a quick read that certainly kept me entertained. I enjoyed the interaction between Michelle and Dex, as well as the relationship each of them had with their friends.

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

I loved the premise of the book and the author delivered everything I hoped for in this read. Their quick wit and easy banter made for an enjoyable read.

I thought Both Dex and Michelle were adorable. They both had preconceived ideas and impressions on what and who the other person is. Dex is trying too overcome his wrong side of the tracks upbringing. Michelle is trying to be adventurous and independent.
They realized that they needed each other to complete their training needs.

Dex and Michelle felt an immediate spark towards one another. It wasn't insta love but some pretty serious chemistry. They didn't fight their attraction towards each other they went after. This couple gave us the heat and then some. They got it on from the campsite to the shower.

The major drama in the book was due to their status in life. Despite their differences their family drama and concerns were similar. Once they decided to make a united front, they realized how unstoppable they were.

Tell Me You Want Me is the second book in the Search and Seduce series. Dex and Michelle are sexy, thrilling, and very adventurous.

Dex is part of the Search and Rescue team. He's good at building survival skills. He's also good for a fun time. Usually for one night. Michelle grew up on the Upper East Side of society. All her life she was told what to do, what to expect and how to live. Then she walked away in search of her independence. How does one start that search? You create a list. In that list you put survival skills. You also make a list of adventures. Sexual adventures. Can you combine both basic suvival skills as well as sexual adventures? Let Dex and Michelle show you how.

Tell Me You Want Me is filled with sexy scenes. The series itself is hot. This particular book and characters is filled with some emotions. Both characters are opposites and yet a match on different grounds. If you enjoyed the first book in the series, you will emjoy this book as well. I strongly recommend
