This was exactly the kind of read I had hoped it would be. Which also means I picked it up at exactly the right time and managed to actually enjoy it, even though there were a few things that could have annoyed me at another moment. But, let's start with all the positive things:
This version of Tinkerbell is just so incredibly cute! She has a temper, of course she has, because that's very Tinkerbell, but she's also very much a teenager who experiences her first love. And it's everything a first love should be: It's big and huge and dramatic and it's worth doing reckless and stupid things for and it's worth breaking rules for. And it's most of all just adorable.
Watching Hook, Peter, Wendy and Tink all in New York, without the fantasy of Neverland and the absurdness of Neverland is also quite refreshing. I understand that for most writers Neverland is their playground, but it was nice to see a different possibility and story and Tink figuring out the New York life style, the slang and customs was just way too amusing.
I have to admit that the writing style at times felt a little simple, although it does fit Tink in a way, and the plot was quite thin. It was very clear that the plot was mostly there to explain how these characters could travel from Neverland to New York and back. The story wasn't about that plot. It was about Tink loving Peter and Peter being with Wendy and Tink being heartbroken by it, but not giving up anyway.
If I'll ever look for another quick, easy and entertaining read I will certainly check out the other stories written by Strauss, because for certain times and certain moods this was the perfect book and I hope her other books are too!

I originally read this series as they were first published. I don't usually follow novella series unless I can get them as a combined story like this story is now. However, I grabbed the first episode for free and I was hooked!!! I loved everything about this story and with Peter Pan being my first love I was instantly drawn in to this fun and exciting retelling.
Tink is madly in love with Peter. But Peter wants to go home, leaving Tink and the lost boys and neverland behind. She is the only person who can help Peter return to New York but Peter leaving completely breaks her heart. And she decides to take drastic action and this decision could destroy everything for her but will she risk everything for Peter?
Yeah, I loved this!! Peter Pan was my first every book crush. And I adore anything that is Peter Pan related. So right away this had a big thumbs up from me. I thought it was in interesting take on classic tale and even more exciting that it was from mainly Tinks POV. Now Tink can come across as a bit selfish and foolish but she is also caring, funny and smart. When it comes to Peter her heart takes over and she will do anything to make Peter happy. Peter, he isn't really like the Peter we all know. I didn't love him as much as I love THE Peter Pan. But he is still an interesting character and I understand why Tink loves him. He is lovely but doesn't really have the real wicked side the original tale has.

The author manages to create a exciting story and had each episode packed with action that you flew through each installment and she usually left each episode with a cliffhanger which would kill me. And that is why I don't usually like novella series but it worked for this story and maybe it was just because the story and the author are awesome and that's why I didn't mind it.
I highly recommend this story to everyone. Especially Peter Pan lovers!! You will not be disappointment in this little gem. It's fast paced, exciting, fun and unique. Elle Strauss has told the classic story and put her own spin on it. So go on give this magical tale a try. You can get the first installment for free on Kindle to give you a little taster of the story.

Peter Pan is my favorite book, so I was interested in seeing what Elle Strauss would do with it. I really wanted to like this but I loathed it.
Tink was so annoying, it was just to hard to read and an exercise in frustration. Very disappointing.

March 19, 2016These were some cutesy short stories that explore if Tinkerbell actually had a huge crush on Peter Pan and if Peter Pan had a life in the real world and was struggling to find where he wanted to end up. I don't know why I didn't keep some if any notes on this one so that's really all I have to say.

Author Lee Strauss takes some well know characters from J.M. Barrie’s classic Peter Pan but gives it a twist. This version is the complete 6 books of the Love, Tink series. Mainly written from Tinkerbell’s point of view and sometimes Peter’s. We learn of Tink’s feelings for Peter and how he came to be in Neverland. Peter has lost the enjoyment he first found being in Neverland and now he wants to go home. Tink helps him by breaking some fairy rules and eventually follows Peter to his world.
The first two books take place in Neverland. So there were the traditional pirates who are the bad guys, along with Peter and the lost boys getting in hijinks, and Tink helping the lost boys while pretending to help Captain Hook as well. Those first chapters are okay. I really enjoyed it when Tink and Jangles follow Peter to New York. It felt like a whole new story, not just retelling. There was magic in the writing that made it feel somewhat original. I liked the idea of how Peter got into and out of Neverland.
I was torn about how Wendy was introduced and her personality. She was pretty dislikable but had reason to be. I think if I were in her shoes I might have been bitchy to certain people too. If the whole story had been written with not as Neverland and its characters I think I would have enjoyed it a little more. There are so many retelling of Peter Pan and his adventures I would rather see new characters.
I still liked the books and would love to read more by the author.

I have know the magic of Neverland, Tinkerbell, the lost boys and even Hook and the pirates since I was 4 or 5 years old (I am no 68); but the magic of Neverland intermeshed with the reality of New York City far supasses any I have know before. Ms. Strauss is a superb writer with a magical flair with words and imagery unsurpassed by any author I have read. Highest kudos to a magical author and to her magical missives!!!

I wanted to love this book, it's a cute reinterpretation of Peter Pan from Tinkerbelle's point of view, expanding on the crush she had on an oblivious Peter, as evidenced in the original tale.
Unfortunately, some spelling mistakes, lose ends and rushed ending left me underwhelmed. Still worth the read.

Book Review- Love, Tink by Elle Strauss
This story is a modern take on Peter Pan. It starts in Neverland when Peter has been there for two years already. Tinkerbell is a fairy who works for Captain Hook as a result of a treaty between Hook and the fairies. Tinkerbell arrives every morning and cleans the cave Hook calls his own when not on his ship.
Tinkerbell has a huge crush on Peter, but she is a fairy and he is a human boy. She protects him from Hook when she can. She would do anything for Peter. So when Peter tells Tink he wants to go home to New York City, she wants to help him but lies about a way to get back. She agonizes over his happiness and decides that she will steal the missing queen’s fairy dust to help Peter get home.
Once Peter finds out she lied to him, he becomes angry and Tink almost changes her mind. However, she knows that Peter is trapped and plans to help him. She is able to steal the dust and send Peter home. After Peter leaves, Tink is heartbroken. She knows she did the right thing, but she will never see him again. She hopes that he will change his mind and come back, but as time goes on she knows he is not.
She continues to be devastated and makes a decision. She is going to New York City too. She still has a bottle of the queen’s fairy dust. She asks Jangle, another fairy, to send her to find Peter. Jangle pours the dust over both of them and they land in Central Park. They are no longer fairies but human teenage girls. They are shocked at what they see and have to do to survive. A boy named Dylan helps them sell a jewel, find a place to live, buy clothes, and tells them where Peter goes to school. Tink becomes Belle and Jangle becomes Jan and they enroll into the same high school that Peter and Dylan go to. Belle is shocked to see Peter in the hallways of the school. He looks so different. The last time she saw him he looked two years younger and it seems he has aged to where he should be now that he is back. Her biggest shock is that he already has a girlfriend named Wendy. Belle is heartbroken again and can’t find the courage to tell him who she really is. She hoped he would recognize her on his own, but he isn’t thinking she would ever be in NYC. She has decided there is nothing for her here and she needs to go back to Neverland. She tells Peter who she is and then good bye.

I had read Elle Strauss' Clockwise series which, in a 'don't judge a book by it's cover' way, exceeded expectations. Sadly, I can't say the same for this book. I adored her writing in Clockwise series, but not in this. You may say I am comparing two different books, but considering it's the same author, I felt this had potential to be better. I also agree that being a novelette, too much depth in the storyline cannot be expected.
So firstly, I will start with what I liked about the book - I liked Jangle, Peter and at times, Tink. It took me some time to connect with Tink and while I liked the start of the book, I can't say the same for the rest of it. The situations seemed a bit too coincidental, especially when they come to New York. Tink mooning over her loss of Peter to Wendy was really detrimental to my liking of her character. Actually, you can't feel much of the chemistry between Tink and Peter, especially from Peter's POV - he just finds her attractive and feels grateful towards her. The villain of the series, Captain Hook, really doesn't scare much. The King is just there for, god knows what and Jangle - well, towards the end, she was just made into a prop. The plot had holes - how did Hook come to New York? The King's punishment too made no sense - and with how it was resolved, well, that was the plot hole pointing it out right there! Dylan and Wendy - anyone feeling bad for how fast they were dropped? I am not too mournful about them but well, it was sudden and felt too convenient for the plot. The ending seemed rushed - and let me just not point out how the appearance of Hook and the Lost Boys in New York was just excused away with a sentence. What the heck was the device, for that matter? And why did Mr. Panelli, who is a physicist, have petri dishes in his lab? Nothing was explained about his experiment and the pirate ship is suddenly a yacht and it's crew?
In conclusion, I found this retelling to be quite lacking, taking into account even it's short length. Shorter stories have had more substance. So while I am all for Peter and Tink, I wished their development was depicted more.

I have reveiewed the first two books separately before they were combined into this nifty little complete series edition, which I greatly appreciate. If you would like to read my reviews, click here for the first, and here for the second. I considered continuing to review each novelette separately, but they flow so well in here that it would really be like reviewing chapters of a book, which I have no interest in doing. Okay, now that I've gotten that out of the way, onto the real review!
I'll admit it; my opinion flipped a complete 180 degrees compared to my review of the first novelette in this series. My secret; I didn't think of it as a Peter Pan retelling anymore.
Because if you do, you'll be disappointed. The characters are simply nothing like they are in the original novel whatsoever. Their personalities are extremely different. So DON'T compare it to Peter Pan, because it's nothing like that. (Whether or not that is a bad thing depends on why you are reading the book, I suppose.)
I did this, and I loved the characters, the plot--everything way more than I did at first. Tink was very likeable and I was really rooting for her. Her love for Peter was adorable! Peter was awesome and dreamy. Jangles was a charater that I felt could have been a bit more developed, but I still liked her. Wendy isn't supposed to be a character you like, so I can't really say I connected with her or anything, but I felt that she really added to the drama of the story.
One character that I still hated was Hook. This whole backstory that we were given about him just confused me.
There's a bunch of nice little twists in here to keep the story interesting. The ending was just how I hoped it would be, with an extra dose of cuteness thrown in for good measure. (All I can say is, "Peter, you are so wonderful!")
So, in conclusion; if you are a Peter Pan fan and you decide to read this, do not associate it with Peter Pan, because it's very different. However, if that's not why you decide to read this, don't worry about it; I don't usually enjoy books by Elle Strauss, but even I really liked this one.

LOVE, TINK goes against everything I normally want in a book, yet I adored it. I’ve read a couple other Peter Pan retellings and this one offers a modern version of the tale. MG or YA readers can appreciate this clean fantasy. I read this book almost straight through, and now I’m itching to read other books by Elle Strauss.
In this version of Peter Pan, Peter is homesick and wants to leave Neverland. Tink is so love-smitten that she goes against the laws of the fairy people and helps him leave her. The romance between Tink and Peter is the primary plot. There are other subplots, particularly later in the story, but none of them distract from the romance. It is told from the POV of both Tink and Peter, although we don’t get to pop into Peter’s head until 40% through the book.
I liked the complexity of Tink and how her heart brought her mishap after mishap. She experiences a vast array of emotions throughout the book, yet never slips out of character from what you’d expect. Jangles is a fun, spunky character. She actually has some plot of her own and her entire life doesn’t revolve around Tink, however the ending with her I wasn’t pleased about. I’m not as fond of how Wendy is portrayed, since she shows zero depth. Her only apparent trait is that she is super obsessed with Peter, then again with the unreliable narrations of Peter and Tink, this lack of complexity might be because neither of them think that highly of her. Peter is a little underdeveloped. I liked him from Tink’s perspective, but not when we’re in his head. He’s whiny and weak and totally not what turns me on in a guy.
Considering that this is a fantasy, I don’t expect a completely realistic atmosphere, however the scenes in New York conflict with what I know about the city. Most importantly is that there are a whole lot of schools. The chances of Dylan and Peter attending the same school are slim. The chances of a taxi cab driver knowing which school to take you to when you can’t even tell the cab driver the name or address is infinitely improbably.
I wish that the locations used in New York City were more specific and localized. It’s such a unique city that generalizations really don’t match. Baltimore, for example, would have been a much better choice for a city without personality.

In this version of Peter Pan, Peter is homesick and wants to leave Neverland. Tink is so love-smitten that she goes against the laws of the fairy people and helps him leave her. The romance between Tink and Peter is the primary plot. There are other subplots, particularly later in the story, but none of them distract from the romance. It is told from the POV of both Tink and Peter, although we don’t get to pop into Peter’s head until 40% through the book.
I liked the complexity of Tink and how her heart brought her mishap after mishap. She experiences a vast array of emotions throughout the book, yet never slips out of character from what you’d expect. Jangles is a fun, spunky character. She actually has some plot of her own and her entire life doesn’t revolve around Tink, however the ending with her I wasn’t pleased about. This was surprisingly easy to read. The chapters were very small, but a lot happens with those few pages. This book was cute and funny at the same time! This would have been a five star book for me, but some things just didn't intrigue me. I was very interested in continuing the story though to see where "Belle" (Tinkerbell) and Peter were going to take me . I actually for some reason hoped the way Peter was going to find out about Belle would be if she ever said "Blink" (I think I am going to start saying that, it's a cute catch phrase :D)
Belle; Tinkerbell:
Belle was an okay character. I thought there were times when she cried for just no reason. If she sees Peter with Wendy she just starts to cry! I kept begging her to pretend she was having a good time or something so no one would see her crying! That part really annoyed me, but on the other hand, I love how funny she and Jangle were when they left Neverland to New York, I just could not stop laughing. I am still trying to think of what size Tinkerbell was, in the beginning I pictured her as a tiny doll size, but when Elle mentions different heights and stuff I was truly confused.
Peter:
I actually like the fact that Peter did not want to stay in Neverland the rest of his life like I saw in the movies. I guess what surprised me the most was when he said to himself that he didn't like Wendy in the way she liked him, but he still ended up dating her! I feel that way through books and in real life. There are probably other girls (boys) you would like to date but you end up dating the girl (boy) who don't like? I never understood that. But anyways, Peter was different from the movie version, he was better in my opinion. I liked the way how Elle took this book in another direction!

I just adored this book so very much. I mean who wouldn't love a book about what would happen to love sick Tink if Peter were to leave Neverland and go back to his home in New York. Would she be able to let him go after never being able to tell him how she feels? Would she be able to live her life without her best friend and the love of her life? And what would happen if she followed him there and found that he had moved on with his life and forgot all about her and his time in Neverland? What would happen if he found love with someone else?

Strauss did an amazing job giving us readers a book that holds the reader's attention the entire time. Readers will experience a little bit of romance, some mystery, and a heck of a lot of suspense. All ages will get into this one as we follow Tink and Peter to New York, back to his home. Here I am in my 30's and just adored it. My 10 year old has read the first episode and loved it just as much as me. So glad to finally have a book that we can both enjoy and talk about. Isn't reading fun?
After reading through the whole series I got to thinking...how awesome would it be to know what else the future holds for Tink and Peter. Seriously, I wouldn't hate if the author made a new series based on them in the future. Just a thought *Wink, Wink*

This book has been on my shelf since 2012 and I've always been interested in it. For whatever reason, though, I never seemed to pick it up. When I joined the 2016 Retelling Challenge at The Daily Prophecy, I knew that I had to put this one on my to-read list.
I started reading this book on my own and, though I enjoyed it, I don't normally read books like this. So I found myself craving to read something more... adult. I ended up putting the book down and read a couple other books while this one lay on my nightstand abandoned. I found myself feeling terrible about putting it down. The book was good and there was no real reason why I stopped reading it. So, to satisfy both sides of myself, I decided to read my normal books and make this one mine and my daughter's bedtime read. With the fairies and fantasy of it, it was still a good read for her toddler brain. :)
Love, Tink was super cute and I really enjoyed it. I actually ended up finishing the book on my own (not at bedtime) because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. It was a cute little retelling of Peter Pan, from Tink's point of view, and would honestly make a cute little movie for a middle grade audience. This is a book that I would have absolutely no problems letting my daughter read in the future.
It was a little cheesy at times and there were a few spelling errors here and there but overall, the book was really cute and a great read.
Rating: 3 Stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed this spin on a classic. This was a refreshing spin on the story as it was primarily told from Tink’s POV (with one section being told from Peter’s POV). I thought it was clever how Tink was the one fairy that could be seen by humans and that there were more fairies than just her in Neverland. In how many retellings is she the ONLY fairy around? I liked that Tink was emotional and impulsive and no matter how she tried to do the right thing, trouble seemed not too far behind. This was one of the aspects that made Love, Tink such a fun read.
I liked Love, Tink’s version of Peter. He was much more than the carefree boy that likes to fight pirates who has been personified elsewhere, especially in the Disney version (although I like that version too). It was another interesting spin to this story that Peter did not want to stay in Neverland.
There are twists and turns that make Love, Tink such an enjoyable read, but I’m not going to spoil them for you. You’ll just have to read it for yourself to find out what they are. Enjoy!

So you have to understand that I am in love with all things Peter Pan. I devour anything that has to do with the story be it books, movies, plays…anything. Not all of it is good but it is Peter Pan so it’s already not too bad. I am very protective of the boy who refused to grow up so it has to be amazing to make me really happy.
Love, Tink was good. It was a cute retelling from Tinkerbell’s point of view. Having Tink follow Peter into the modern world was kind of a cool twist. It was a sweet romance without all the sometimes slightly racey behavior that sometimes occurs in teen romance. Not that there is anything wrong with that but as a 5-8 library it sometimes limits my options. I can see fans of romance enjoying this as well as fans of fantasy.
The book I read was a collection of six novellas. I would probably purchase the collection rather than the individual novellas only because as a collection it is only 330 pages. I would say a worthy purchase for any library looking for clean romance for younger girls who enjoy the genre.

I had initially been invited by NetGalley to read this in exchange for an honest review. However, I wound up buying the series. I have always loved the story of Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, the Lost Boys, and Neverland. I always liked the Disney version of the movie as well as some of the others that had been done. I didn't care if this book was supposed to be for the YA crowd. I just knew I wanted to read it.
This was a very quick read, despite the multiple episodes. I was really glad that I got them all at once instead of separately (I hate to wait for stuff to be released!). I enjoyed the story of Tinkerbell and her infatuation with Peter Pan. I love how this takes place in modern day New York City so you can get the reaction from Tink when she is faced with things like cars, cell phones, etc. I think it is hilarious when she has to go to high school. There are some twists and turns in this story, too and I pretty much liked everything about the story. I would definitely read more about Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, and her other fairy friends. I give this 5 books.

I received Love, Tink in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. Although I noticed a few errors like the lack of a quotation mark here and there, I really enjoyed reading about Tink. Tink and Jangle were both very interesting characters and they both surprised me on numerous occasions, especially Jangle who was one of my favorite characters. Tinkle was a bit pitiful following Peter around New York forever like a stalked when he had no clue who she was but she definently redeemed herself later. I really enjoyed the two fairies's cluelessness about Earth. Internet? Cellphone? What? Love, Tinkle was a very interesting story with likable characters and a cute story line. I would highly recommend it to lovers of fantasy type stories and fairies both.

I've always loved the story of Peter Pan and I think the author did a fantastic job of capturing the essence of the story and Tinkerbell's personality in this modern rendition.

Now THIS is a book series that would make a wonderful retelling of Peter Pan.
The atmosphere was beautifully built; the island just sounds gorgeous. The character development is spot on and very accurate. Nothing seems to be over-exaggerated. The storyline flows beautifully and each of the six installments are interesting and make you want to read the next one.

A blended version of modern day meets classic literature. The story starts off with Peter already in Neverland and his ongoing feud with Captain Hook. Tinkerbell has a crush on Peter and helps to send him home to NYC. Tinkerbell decides to follow him to NYC to tell him how she feels about him. She enlists her fairy friend, Jangles, to help her out. They both end up in NYC and have quite the adventure in their new human bodies. Unbeknownst to Tink, Peter already has a girlfriend, Wendy. I won't ruin the rest of the storyline for you. This was and enjoyable read.

It's a cute story of Tinkerbell and Peter Pan. I really don't know how to go into details without making it sound like I didn't like it. I'm neutral on the story.
It's a different take on how Peter got to Neverland. It's an interesting concept.
Tinkerbell is slightly annoying. Some of what goes on seems pointless.
I think younger (middle school aged) people may enjoy this more than anyone else.

I'm always so sad when Elle's books end. In just a few chapters she's created a whole new world of magic and love, with just enough detail to make you imagine a past and a future and leaves you wanting to know more. Love, Tink is a just a simple teenage love story but with a tantalizing look into the fairy Kingdom of Neverland.

Cute, easy-to-read series about Tinkerbell and her adventures and misadventures with Peter Pan(elli). Because she is in love with Peter, she steals the queen's fairy dust from the castle and is able to get Peter back to New York, but then she can't live without him and decides she wants to go, too.
There were some unbelievable parts, but it was entertaining and a clean read.

November 6, 2013This book just didn't do it for me. Tink was different than I expected and I couldn't connect with her. She annoyed me most of the time and that's a shame, because the world-building started interesting. I feel sad that it didn't work for me :(

It's a fun kind of series knowing there is two fairies in the human world and seeing how the get around New York. You also feel the emotions Tink has when she's around Peter.
I love how the words are poetic. There are surprises waiting to be read.
